AKPS seizes RM30,600 worth of diesel and six vehicles in Bukit Kayu Hitam
Bukit Kayu Hitam AKPS Commander SAC Mohd Nasaruddin M Nasir said inspections revealed modified tanks in three trailers and three pickups used for smuggling subsidised diesel.
The trailers were stopped at the heavy vehicle exit lane after clearing customs checks en route to Thailand at 8.45 am.
Pickup trucks were detained earlier at 7.30 am at the Malaysian exit lane following immigration inspections.
All vehicles were seized under Section 6 of the Road Transport Act 1987, with total confiscations valued at RM380,600.
Six drivers aged between 40 and 60 were arrested for further investigations.
Mohd Nasaruddin suspects a syndicate is smuggling subsidised fuel abroad, possibly reselling it as far as Myanmar for higher profits.
He said diesel may be sourced from Malaysian petrol stations and industrial storage facilities using varied methods.
In a separate operation, AKPS issued 21 Notices of Refusal of Entry to foreign nationals suspected of violating tourist visa conditions.
The individuals included four Chinese men, two Thai men, 13 Thai women, one Indian man, and a Pakistani national.
All were ordered to return to their home countries following standard immigration procedures.
No seizures or criminal investigations were linked to the entry refusal cases. – Bernama

PUTRAJAYA: A Chinese national was arrested after allegedly behaving aggressively and injuring an Immigration counter officer during a departure check at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Terminal 1, yesterday. The incident occurred at 7.40pm when the woman, accompanied by a man and two children, approached the counter for immigration clearance. The officer on duty discovered that they had no records of entry into Malaysia and referred the matter to a supervisor for further verification. The Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (MCBA) said the suspect became agitated when instructed to allow other passengers to proceed while checks were carried out. She reportedly hurled abuse at the officer, pulled at her headscarf, and pushed her head towards a pillar in front of the counter. "A brief scuffle ensued, and the suspect refused to calm down despite repeated instructions. MCBA enforcement officers then called in the Aviation Security (AVSEC) team to diffuse the situation," MCBA said in a statement today. The officer sustained swelling around her left eye, a headache on the right side of her head, and body aches, and was subsequently referred to Cyberjaya Hospital for treatment. A police report has been lodged, and the suspect remains in custody for investigation under Section 186 of the Penal Code for obstructing a public servant in the discharge of their duties, Section 332 for causing injury to a public servant, and Section 353 for using criminal force to deter a public servant from performing their duty.

(Bernama pic) PETALING JAYA : A Chinese national set to leave the country was detained for attacking an immigration officer at KLIA Terminal 1 at 7.40pm yesterday. The Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS) said the suspect, another adult and two children, who were all Chinese nationals, were undergoing immigration clearance checks when the incident occurred, Harian Metro reported. AKPS said the officer manning the immigration counter had found that all four individuals did not have any record of entering Malaysia. The woman was then asked to give way to other travellers for further checks to be done, leaving her unhappy. 'The woman then hurled abusive language at the officer before pulling the latter's headscarf and pushing her head against a pillar in front of the counter. 'A minor struggle ensued. The suspect refused to calm down despite being instructed to do so,' the agency said. AKPS said the attack left the officer with a swollen left eye and pain on the right side of her head. She was sent to Cyberjaya Hospital for treatment. It said a police report had been filed and the suspect was in police custody. She is being investigated for obstructing a public servant in the discharge of their duty, causing hurt and using criminal force under Sections 186, 332 and 353 of the Penal Code, respectively.

Police dismantle ‘Susu Borneo' syndicate stealing baby milk in three states
MELAKA: Police have dismantled a theft syndicate known as 'Susu Borneo' with the arrest of four members, including a woman, for stealing infant formula and powdered coffee worth RM12,600. The suspects were apprehended at a rented condominium in Kuala Lumpur in the early hours of Aug 10 following reports of thefts in Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, and Pahang. Melaka Tengah Police chief ACP Christopher Patit confirmed the arrests involved a 50-year-old woman and three men aged between 23 and 33. The syndicate's thefts were reported at two mini markets in Taman Paya Emas and Bandar Baru Sungai Udang on Aug 2. Christopher stated that intelligence led the Criminal Investigation Department (D4) team to track down the suspects, including a Filipino man and woman. Police recovered stolen formula milk at the condominium and inside a car during the operation. Seized items included 72 boxes and 15 packets of infant formula, 12 tins of health milk, and 22 packets of coffee drinks. Authorities also confiscated a car, four mobile phones, clothing, hats, and tools believed to be used in the thefts. The syndicate disguised themselves as customers, with the female suspect hiding stolen items in her clothes while male accomplices acted as lookouts. Investigations revealed the Sabah-based syndicate had been active since 2011 and committed 12 thefts in the week before their arrest. Three suspects had prior criminal records involving drug offences, theft, and causing injury. All four suspects have been remanded until Aug 15 for further investigation under Section 380 of the Penal Code for theft. - Bernama
