Titans QB Will Levis on current situation: 'It sucks'
Will Levis was nothing short of candid when addressing his situation at quarterback with the Tennessee Titans.
With No. 1 overall pick Cam Ward on the roster -- wearing the No. 1 of former franchise great Warren Moon -- there could be a new starting QB in Tennessee.
While Titans coach Brian Callahan insists that nothing has been decided at quarterback, Levis sounds like somebody who will have to start proving his value all over again.
"Anyone who's ever been in my situation would agree that it sucks," Levis said, per Main Street Nashville. "I'm just trying to do the best I can to not let it affect me and just being the same dude every day in the building and being there for the guys however I can and just trying to get better every day."
A second-round pick out of Kentucky in 2023, Levis arrived in Nashville with lofty expectations. However, in 21 career games (all starts), Levis has completed 61.0 percent of his passes for 3,899 yards and 21 touchdowns with 16 interceptions.
"I haven't been a backup in a while, but I don't plan on shifting my mindset, regardless of what the situation is," Levis said. "I'm just going to be ready to play quarterback whenever my name is called."
This offseason, Levis spent time in California working with former NFL QB Jordan Palmer.
"It was a lot of just relearning my stroke, relearning my body and trying to get back to the basics of that. I feel like it's really paid off," Levis said. "I've been feeling good the last few weeks."
Along with Ward, Levis is also competing at quarterback with veterans Brandon Allen and Tim Boyle.

Report: Steelers expect new T.J. Watt deal by start of season
June 3 - The Pittsburgh Steelers are confident that discussions with All-Pro linebacker T.J. Watt will result in a new contract before the start of the season, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported on Monday. The newspaper added that a deal may not be completed anytime soon. Watt, 30, is looking for a revision to his deal as he enters the final season of a five-year, $112 million contract that features a guaranteed $80 million. Per the Post-Gazette, the price tag for Watt might have risen when Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett landed the NFL's richest contract for a defensive player in March: four years, $160 million, $123.5 million guaranteed. Watt was selected to the Pro Bowl each of the past seven years, and he made first-time All-Pro in 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2023. He was the NFL's 2021 Defensive Player of the Year after making a career-high 22.5 sacks. In 2024, Watt led the NFL with six forced fumbles while logging 11.5 sacks, 61 tackles, four passes defended and two fumble recoveries in 17 games. Over his eight-year NFL career, all with the Steelers, Watt has 108 sacks, 462 tackles, 33 forced fumbles, 12 fumble recoveries, 49 passes defensed and seven interceptions. --Field Level Media

Mets squander late lead, then hold off Dodgers in 10
June 3 - Francisco Alvarez and Francisco Lindor each drove in runs to open the 10th inning and the visiting New York Mets held off the Los Angeles Dodgers 4-3 on Monday while extending their winning streak to four games. Lindor homered on the second pitch of the game, and Mets right-hander Paul Blackburn went five scoreless innings in his season debut. Closer Edwin Diaz (3-0) had his first blown save before picking up the win, while Jose Butto recorded the final two outs for his first save of the year. New York has won 27 consecutive games when Lindor has hit a home run. After losing in the National League Championship Series to the Dodgers last fall, New York has three victories in four games against Los Angeles, all since May 23. Shohei Ohtani hit a home run for the Dodgers and had a game-tying sacrifice fly in the ninth against Diaz. Andy Pages delivered an RBI single in the 10th, but Los Angeles failed to score again with runners at first and second with no outs. Left-hander Tanner Scott (0-2) gave up two runs (one earned) in the 10th to see his ERA rise to 4.73 in his debut season with Los Angeles. Starter Dustin May gave up two runs on six hits in six innings, issuing two walks and striking out five. The first-inning home run gave Lindor 14 on the season and four in the past four games. The Mets made it 2-0 in the fifth on an RBI ground-rule double from Brandon Nimmo. Blackburn cruised in his first start since Aug. 23 of last season, giving up three hits with one walk and three strikeouts. He had been out with hand, spine and knee injuries. The Dodgers broke through in the seventh on Ohtani's 424-foot home run to right field off right-hander Max Kranick. It was Ohtani's 23rd of the season to tie for the major league lead with the Seattle Mariners' Cal Raleigh, and his sixth in eight games. Alvarez's RBI double to right opened the 10th for New York against Scott, and then Lindor drove in the eventual game-winning run on a single to the left field corner. --Field Level Media

Deutsche Bank lifts S&P 500 year-end target amid Wall Street upgrade wave
June 3 (Reuters) - Deutsche Bank has raised its year-end target for the S&P 500 (.SPX), opens new tab to 6,550 from 6,150, citing lower tariff-related earnings drag and a resilient economy, in a move that comes amid a broader wave of target upgrades by major Wall Street brokerages. This follows similar moves by Goldman Sachs and UBS Global Wealth Management, which raised their forecasts in May, with RBC Capital Markets joining the trend on Monday. "We now see the tariff drag at only about one-third of what we previously penciled in," Deutsche Bank strategists led by Binky Chadha wrote in a note on Monday. The new target is 10.35% above the S&P 500 index's last close of 5,935.94. The S&P 500 posted its strongest monthly gain since November 2023 in May, boosted by U.S. President Donald Trump's softer stance on tariffs, strong corporate earnings, and tame inflation data that helped markets recover from April's decline. Still, the European brokerage warned that the rally could be volatile, with potential pullbacks driven by renewed trade tensions. "We expect the rally to be punctuated by sharp pullbacks on repeated cycles of escalation and de-escalation on trade policy", the brokerage said. Deutsche also increased the estimate for the index's earnings per share to $267 from $240.
