Nando's confirms huge shake-up to menu next week - with five new items

Daily Mirror09-05-2025

The peri-peri chicken chain will launch the five new items across its menus nationwide from May 13 - and it includes a new burger, new sides, a new dip and a new drink
Nando's has announced a major shake-up to its menu and is adding four new items for summer this year. The peri-peri chicken chain will launch the new items across its menus nationwide from May 13.
The first new menu item is a veggie option called "The Big Cheese." The new burger features grilled halloumi, red pepper and pineapple salsa, sliced avocado, and Churrasco PERinaise. It will be served in a soft Portuguese roll made with Wildfarmed regenerative flour. The burger will cost you £9.25 on its own or £15.50 with sides.

There are two new side dishes for fans to try, and these are Nando's "Summer Grains" and its "Charred corn". The first dish features mixed grains with green chickpeas and dried apricots in lemon and oil, drizzled with a yoghurt dressing. This dish will set you back £4.25.

For the second, customers can get charred smoky sweetcorn in a creamy, garlic sauce topped with spring onions and PERi-Salt for £5. The peri peri restaurant has also introduced a brand new dip, which it says will be loved by fans of its Halloumi Sticks.
The new dip is PERI-honey, which peri-peri fans can also get as an extra to pour over their chicken and drizzle over salads and chips. The Halloumi Sticks & Dip with PERi-Honey will cost £4.95, and the dip on its own will set you back £1.25.
Finally, Nando's has added a new drink called the "Tropical Quencher" which the chain says is the "ultimate summer slurp". The drink will set you back £4.25 at Nando's restaurants.
In addition to the new menu items, Nando's is also offering fans the chance to have a guest spice return to the menu this summer. If fans have a burning idea, they can also pitch a new spice flavour to the chicken shop chain.

Some of Nando's older spice flavours included smoked Chorrasco, Garlic BBQ, and, most recently Nando's x Fanta.
Fans can vote from Tuesday, May 13 until Tuesday, June 17 using the QR code on the in-restaurant menu or heading to its website here. After voting closes, the winning spice will launch on the PERi-ometer in all UK & Ireland restaurants just in time for the summer.
The updated menu follows the recent launch of Nando's Extra Saucy Wings, which is now served with PERi-Flamer. This was previously an off-menu sauce that had circulated among loyal fans online. PERi-Flamer is now formally available in restaurants and through delivery.

The Red Devils recently revealed total operating expenses have dropped by £41.6million to £162.1m in the latest quarterly club accounts after Sir Jim Ratcliffe's brutal cost cutting. 3 Manchester United are ready to win the race for Sporting Lisbon star Viktor Gyokeres 3 Man Utd minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe's cuts are leading to a gradual U-turn in finances 3 Man Utd boss Ruben Amorim is now ready to raid his former club for Gyokeres That is despite the cash spent on the Glazers' debt spiralling to a staggering £1.2BILLION. United's gradual U-turn in club finances means they are ready to pip Arsenal to land Sporting Lisbon striker Gyokeres. The Gunners are keen on the former Coventry hitman, 27, but are also chasing RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko. Sweden striker Gyokeres, who scored 54 goals in 52 games for Sporting last season, has an £85m release clause. But it is understood that the Portuguese side would accept a fee closer to £60m this summer. United boss Ruben Amorim is now ready to raid his former club after the boost in their accounts. Yet the Glazers' debt still casts a long shadow over the fallen giants, whose wage bill was down a huge £20m to £71.2m compared with a year ago. United have now spent an astonishing £1.2bn on the debt in 20 years of the Americans' ownership. CASINO SPECIAL - BEST CASINO BONUSES FROM £10 DEPOSITS According to the BBC, £815m in debt interest repayments; £166m in dividends to shareholders; £197m in external net debt repayments and £10m in management and administration fees to the Glazer family companies has left the club since the Glazers bought it in June 2005. Meanwhile, chief executive Omar Berrada warned United must improve after a humiliating season in which they finished 15th in the Premier League and lost the Europa League final against Tottenham. Viktor Gyokeres responds as he is asked if he 'likes London' amid Arsenal transfer links He said: 'We were proud to reach the final of the Europa League but ultimately were disappointed to finish as runner-up in Bilbao. 'We had a difficult season in the Premier League, which fell below our standards, and we have a clear expectation of improvement next season.' United have already agreed to pay £62.5m to land forward Matheus Cunha from Wolves. And they are chasing a £55m deal for Brentford ace Bryan Mbeumo as they attempt to stay within the Prem's Profit and Sustainability Rules. But Amorim will also need to offload a clutch of big-name players from a group including Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony and Casemiro.

Man Utd get green light to sign Gyokeres after Amorim transfer agreement expires

A reunion between Viktor Gyokeres and Ruben Amorim is inching closer after Manchester United were given the green light to launch an official approach for the Sporting forward Manchester United's hopes of signing Viktor Gyokeres have been given a major boost after a key obstacle quietly disappeared. The club were thought to be outsiders in the race for Gyokeres' signature, with Arsenal leading the pack for some time. But it appears the Swedish goal machine is now open to joining the Red Devils, despite the fact that they won't be playing Champions League football next season. No formal talks have been held between United and Sporting CP, but a reunion with Ruben Amorim now looks a genuine possibility, particularly with Arsenal focusing on a deal to sign RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko. ‌ Gyokeres was heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford in January, despite Amorim promising not to raid his old club for talent during the winter window. The Portuguese coach was as good as his word, but made no such promise about the summer transfer window. ‌ Gyokeres, who turned 27 on Wednesday, is reportedly available for around £60million - a fee significantly lower than the £85m release clause in his contract. Given that United spent £72m on Rasmus Hojlund in 2023, that asking price may feel like a bargain. However, agent fees and Gyokeres' wage demands will need to be taken into account as well. The striker has scored an astonishing 97 goals in 102 games for Sporting, and despite currently earning just £39,000 per week at the Estadio Jose Alvalade, he is expected to seek a salary exceeding £250,000 per week. Only five current United players earn weekly wages of £250,000 or more. Of those, three - Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, and Casemiro - are likely to leave this summer, while the remaining two - Bruno Fernandes and Mason Mount - have also been linked with exits. With Sir Jim Ratcliffe aiming to rein in spending amid ongoing PSR concerns, United may hesitate to meet Gyokeres' hefty demands. However, the chance to sign a striker of his calibre - especially with limited competition - could prove too tempting to ignore and a gamble worth taking. Top European sides such as Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Manchester City already have world-class centre forwards in place, while United's other Premier League rivals appear to be pursuing other options. ‌ Chelsea recently beat United to the signing of Ipswich striker Liam Delap, and although they remain in the market for another forward, Hugo Ekitike appears to be their primary target. Liverpool are reportedly eyeing the Eintracht Frankfurt star as well, potentially viewing him as a replacement for Darwin Nunez, who is expected to leave Anfield this summer. The Red Devils have already spent £62.5m on Matheus Cunha, and are looking to seal a similarly priced deal for Brentford's Bryan Mbeumo. However, with several departures anticipated across United's forward line this summer, there is room - both in the squad and on the wage bill - for further additions. Gyokeres could prove to be the ultimate statement signing - one capable of firing United back up the table following a truly dismal season. But as with so many things at Old Trafford these days, any move will require walking a financial tightrope. Whether it pays off or backfires, the consequences will be significant and unavoidable.

Al-Hilal make offer for £63m Man Utd target after missing out on Bruno Fernandes

Al-Hilal have submitted a bid to sign one of Manchester United's transfer targets after failing to convince Bruno Fernandes to join the Saudi Pro League. The Saudi club are keen to make a marquee signing this summer, having already hired former Inter Milan boss Simone Inzaghi to be their new head coach. Mohamed Salah had been a long-term target before the Egyptian committed his future to Liverpool. Bruno Fernandes was also approached last week with a mind-boggling £700,000-a-week offer, but the United skipper eventually opted against the move. 'There was an opportunity. The president [of Al-Hilal] called me and asked if I wanted to go there. They were waiting for me,' Fernandes revealed this week. 'It would have been easy to move there as I know the Portuguese players there very well, but I want to play at the highest level and compete for major titles.' Having missed out on Fernandes, Al-Hilal have now moved on to their latest target, with Fabrizio Romano reporting that the club has sumbitted an official bid to sign Napoli striker Victor Osimhen. The 26-year-old has a €75million (£63m) release clause in his deal and has attracted interest from United as they look for alternatives having failed to sign Liam Delap. But Al-Ahli appeared to now be in pole position to sign the striker and have submitted an initial proposal worth €65m (£54.7m) with a further €5m (£4.2m) in add-ons. Napoli are expected to request that the release clause fee is matched, but reports add that the Saudi club are happy to do that if their initial bid is rebuffed. Osimhen was in talks with both Al-Ahli and Chelsea last summer, but ultimately failed to agree terms on a deal with either side. The Nigerian international instead moved on loan to Galatasaray where he enjoyed a superb campaign, scoring 37 goals in 41 appearances in all competitions to guide the Turkish side to a league and cup double. While a move to Saudi Arabia would be lucrative, fellow Nigerian John Obi Mikel has urged the striker to instead seek a move to the Premier League. 'I hope there is still a Premier League move for him this summer', Mikel told Metro. 'I think the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United, they still need a striker. I don't think [Rasmus] Hojlund is the guy for Manchester United. More Trending 'He runs around and works hard but he is not the guy who will score goals, put them in the top four and win them trophies. So for me Manchester United might be the destination. 'I don't want to see him in Saudi right now because he still has so much to offer in Europe. It would be a shame to see him go there. So maybe Arsenal, United, Juventus and PSG too [are his options]. Let's see what happens.' Should a move for Osimhen not materialise, United may be forced to consider alternatives as they seek attacking reinforcements for Ruben Amorim's side. The Red Devils still hold an interest in Viktor Gyokeres and Benjamin Sesko, but both strikers are also wanted by Arsenal. For more stories like this, check our sport page.
