
CM opens Ganga riverfront at Bakhtiyarpur

Patna: CM Nitish Kumar on Saturday inaugurated the newly developed Ganga riverfront at Sirhi Ghat in Bakhtiyarpur block of Patna district.
Modelled on Mumbai's Marine Drive, the riverfront includes a 2,100-metre-long jogging track flanked by landscaped greenery.
The structure features pillars made of pink Dholpur sandstone, adding to its aesthetic appeal.
The location holds personal significance for the CM. "I used to come here during my childhood to bathe in the Ganga. People will benefit from the development works underway at Sirhi Ghat and nearby areas," he said.
Nitish also participated in the 'Ganga Aarti' in the evening. Locals expressed gratitude to the CM for "bringing the Ganga back" to the city, after the river had shifted nearly 5km away from its original course. The project involved channelising the river's flow to restore it to the ghat.
The CM inspected the ongoing development initiatives in the area where around Rs63 crore has been spent on beautification and safety measures aimed at attracting tourism.

Bihar CM inspects construction work of Patna metro rail project
PATNA : Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday inspected the on-going construction work of the Patna Metro Rail Project here. The CM directed officials to expedite the construction of the Patna Metro project. According to a statement issued by the Chief Minister's Office, "During the visit, the CM inspected the Metro Terminal located at Bariyarpur and reviewed the metro rail coaches, railway tracks, yard, power grid, and other related infrastructure. The CM directed officials to expedite the construction work of the project." Regular inspections are being conducted to ensure that the construction work is carried out in an efficient manner. "During the inspection, the CM interacted with officials and inquired about the progress and current status of the metro rail construction. Officials informed the CM that the metro terminal at Bariyarpur would serve as the halt, maintenance, and cleaning facility for the metro trains. The administrative building situated at the site will manage the smooth operation of the metro rail services", said the statement. The CM also inspected the Zero Mile Metro Station and reviewed the progress and current status of the construction work underway there.

They first visited Deoghar and then went to Gangasagar," he said.A statement issued by the Bihar government said, "The CM has expressed condolences over the casualties in the road accident that took place on the roadside in Burdwan. He is deeply saddened by the deaths of Bihar natives in the incident, and announced ex gratia of Rs 2 lakh each for the immediate family members of the deceased."Besides, the CM also announced Rs 50,000 as compensation for each injured CM has also directed the officials to remain in touch with their counterparts in West Bengal and ensure proper treatment for the injured also asked officials to ensure that bodies of deceased hailing from the state reach their native place in East Champaran, it said.

Nitish ties rakhi to tree, plants sapling
1 2 3 4 Patna: CM Nitish Kumar on Saturday tied a rakhi to a tree at Rajdhani Vatika in Patna to spread awareness about environmental conservation on the occasion of Rakshabandhan and 'Bihar Vriksha Suraksha Diwas'. Nitish also planted a sapling in the popular park located on Strand Road in the state capital. Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary, environment, forest and climate change (EFCC) minister Sunil Kumar, additional chief secretary of the department Harjot Kaur Bamhrah, Patna divisional commissioner Chandra Shekhar Singh and several other senior officials were present on the occasion. The state govt has been observing Bihar Vriksha Suraksha Diwas since 2012 to protect the state's green cover and safeguard the environment. The practice of tying rakhis to trees on Rakshabandhan was initiated by Nitish in 2012. "The main purpose behind observing Bihar Vriksha Suraksha Diwas is to make people aware of the environment, encourage them to protect trees and take an interest in planting as many saplings as possible. Plantation drives are being carried out on a large scale under various schemes, including the Jal-Jeevan-Hariyali Abhiyan," said a communique issued by the chief minister's office.
