'Ungaludan Stalin a poll gimmick to collect phone numbers': EPS
Addressing the media after inaugurating the AIADMK's Salem Urban and district office at Neduncahalai Nagar, EPS appealed to Deputy Chief Minister Udayanidhi Stalin to save the DMK alliance, since there were various contradictory opinions within the DMK alliance being reported.
Responding to Udhayanidhi's recent jibe at the AIADMK-BJP alliance, EPS dismissed it, saying Udhayanidhi had no role to comment on other parties' coalitions. 'He is not an astrologer to make predictions. Instead, he should look at his own party's alliance, which is filled with contradictions,' he said.
'The pamphlets and forms distributed door-to-door as part of this initiative list numerous civic issues. This is proof of how many problems the current government has failed to address. After four years in power, if they are only now starting to listen to people's grievances, it clearly shows this is nothing more than election drama.

"We've requested the Prime Minister that the disrespectful suffix 'in' used to denote official names of SC/ST communities be changed to the respectful 'ir' suffix. We've renamed school and college hostels to 'social justice hostels', removing caste identifiers," Stalin said. Stalin said that everything will not change overnight. Petitions for financial aid for women dominate Ungaludan Stalin scheme in Trichy
Trichy: At the Ungaludan Stalin scheme camps organised at two locations in Trichy and at five places in rest of the district on Tuesday, many of the 3,254 petitioners submitted applications to avail Rs 1,000 financial assistance under the Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thittam (KMUT). Officials assured solutions to people's petitions within 45 days. A total of 14 stalls were set up by various departments to receive petitions in each camp. For the KMUT scheme, at least 25 revenue department officials including VAOs were mobilized in each camp. Trichy corporation conducted the camps at the Thillai Nagar Makkal Mandram hall for ward 22 and at the Devi hall in Srirangam for wards 1 and 2. For the past two weeks, the local body has been reaching out to the public in these wards. A pamphlet explaining a list of documents mandatory to obtain services including patta transfer, community certificate, and legal heir certificate was shared to every household. Animators are provided with the Ungaludan Stalin mobile application to record houses covered and applications distributed. "Five members of our party helped residents to reach their respective stalls and explained about the documents to submit," K Renganathan, a DMK functionary from ward 22, said. Since residents from other wards also visited the venues, volunteers informed them that similar camps will be conducted for their wards in coming days. Trichy corporation is planning to conduct 35 camps which are likely to go on till Dec or Jan 2026. "All my previous attempts for patta name transfer have failed. Since the scheme assured a swift solution, I have applied again," said P Raghavan, 84, from Thillai Nagar. District collector V Saravanan inspected the camp at Thillai Nagar and instructed the officials to follow a similar mode in ensuing camps. Madurai: The Tamil Nadu government's 'Ungaludan Stalin' grievance redressal drive, launched across the state on Tuesday, received over 6,000 petitions in Madurai district across five camps. Of the total petitions, over 3,500 pertained to the Kalaignar women's entitlement scheme, mainly from women whose applications were either rejected or pending. Another 1,000-plus petitions focused on patta transfers, name corrections, and land ownership disputes. Officials said these two categories accounted for nearly three-fourths of the petitions received. Unlike in Chennai, Coimbatore, and Trichy—where camps were held within city limits—Madurai's camps were located entirely in suburban areas, notably within the constituency of commercial taxes and registration minister P Moorthy. Camps were conducted in Chettikulam (Madurai West), Othakadai, two venues under Melur Panchayat Union, and Paravai Municipality. Minister Moorthy inaugurated the first camp at Chettikulam and inspected grievance counters set up by various departments at all five venues. DMK cadres assisted the public at the camps, helping residents fill out applications and directing them to relevant counters. "Their involvement was particularly helpful for rural women, senior citizens, and first-time applicants," said M Kannan, a resident of Chettikulam. "They also raised awareness about the camps by distributing pamphlets earlier this week."
