20th Century studios has just released a new trailer for "Predator: Badlands," the latest entry in the "Predator" cinematic franchise, and one that turns the usual premise on its head.
Along with a lot more action, this new trailer features more of Elle Fanning as Thia, a Weyland-Yutani android accompanying the Yautja hunter Dek (Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi) on his hunt. You can watch the trailer below.

Among the new things we get to see in this trailer is the predator Dek speaking in his native tongue, "I am prey to no one!" In most "Predator" movies the aliens merely record the dialogue of their prey and play it back at them, however director Dan Trachtenberg decided an actual language needed to be developed for "Badlands."

Among the new action sequences teased in the trailer, we see a clash toward the end of the preview between a very large beast and someone in a beefy mech suit. It's hard not to be reminded of Sigourney Weaver's fight with the Xenomorph Queen in 1986's "Aliens."
The most obvious thing setting "Badlands" apart from previous "Predator" entries is that it's the first to feature one of the titular aliens as the protagonist. The Yautja hunter Dek is an outcast from his tribe who hunts a seemingly unkillable prey, aided by the android Thia.
"Predator: Badlands" is directed by Dan Trachtenberg and produced by John Davis, Trachtenberg, Marc Toberoff, Ben Rosenblatt, Brent O'Connor.
It is a rich time for "Predator" fans. "Badlands" follows the streaming release in June of the animated anthology film "Predator: Killer of Killers" which earned acclaim from critics and fans alike.
The anthology followed three different Yautja hunters in three different historical times, hunting Vikings, Japanese ninja, and World War II pilots respectively.
It also canonized the name of the "Predator" alien species as "Yautja," something that had only been used previously in expanded universe media like comics and novels.
Speaking of comics, "Predator" media has also been very busy on the comic book stands. The crossover miniseries "Predator Vs. Spider-Man" just came to a conclusion and the new miniseries "Predator Kills the Marvel Universe" is on the way.
In the meantime, Marvel has also released the anthology comic "Predator: Black, White & Blood."

James Cameron Teases Unexpected Animated Avatar Project

James Cameron wants to make an animated project. Cameron directed both films in the live-action Avatar franchise, 2009's Avatar and 2022's Avatar: The Way of Water, thus far. The third movie, Avatar: Fire and Ash, is also directed by Cameron and arrives in United States theaters this coming December. What did James Cameron say about an animated Avatar project? Speaking with Empire Magazine, Cameron confirmed that he's spoken to Disney, which owns 20th Century Studios, about potentially doing an Avatar animated project. He explained, 'I said, 'Look, I want to do an animated anthology series that's essentially in the world, but stories that you wouldn't have expected from that world.' There might even be an animated feature in there – it might be a feature for streaming, or a theatrical feature. A good early example is The Animatrix, where they went afield in the Matrix world. These are all great examples for how we can add texture and baroque detail to the world of Avatar.' Cameron further noted that these animated stories could explore 'backstory on characters and tangential stuff that happened off-camera within the movies. Who first landed on Pandora? The first expedition. You could go anywhere you want.' The project, however, hasn't yet materialized into anything. 'We haven't done much with that yet,' Cameron said. 'We're still gathering our stories and that sort of thing, and I've got to find the boutique filmmakers, the animators, that want to do it.' In the meantime, Avatar: Fire and Ash arrives on December 19, 2025. It stars Sam Worthington as Jake Sully, Zoe Saldaña as Neytiri, Sigourney Weaver as Kiri, Stephen Lang as Colonel Miles Quaritch, Giovanni Ribisi as Parker Selfridge, Kate Winslet as Ronal, Cliff Curtis as Tonowari, Joel David Moore as Dr. Norm Spellman, Edi Falco as General Frances Ardmore, and more. CM Punk Calls Out The Undertaker For Surprising Reason

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. CM Punk is known for speaking his mind, and in a new interview, he took a playful jab at the legendary mystique of The Undertaker. The former WWE Champion joked that the real reason "The Deadman" protected his character for so long was simply because he was "lazy." Speaking with Sports Illustrated to promote the upcoming WWE Unreal docuseries on Netflix, Punk discussed the evolution of "kayfabe" and the loss of mystique in modern professional wrestling. "The Undertaker Was Just Lazy" When asked if he missed the old-school aura that once surrounded performers like The Undertaker, Punk offered a sharp and witty response. He joked that The Undertaker's famous dedication to his character was just a convenient way to avoid doing media interviews. "Do I wish I didn't have to do interviews? The Undertaker was just lazy," Punk said. "That's the only reason he did that. He got away with not doing this. That's why he did it. It wasn't because he was really dead. I said it." Protecting The Phenom Punk's joke, while delivered tongue-in-cheek, references one of the most respected feats in wrestling history. For nearly 30 years, Mark Calaway, the man who portrayed The Undertaker, meticulously protected his character's mystique. He rarely did out-of-character interviews and avoided public appearances, all in an effort to maintain the illusion that "The Deadman" was a real, supernatural force. This dedication to the business is what made his character so iconic and believable for an entire generation of fans. WWE/Getty Images This old-school approach stands in stark contrast to the modern era of wrestling, a point Punk reflected on more seriously. The Modern Era Of Transparency Punk admitted that as a veteran with an old-school mentality, he is often "wildly uneasy" about the new level of transparency in the business. He noted that with social media and behind-the-scenes docuseries, the curtain has been pulled back more than ever before. "Do I wish there was more mystique? You know, it is what you make it," he said. "I will still protect this business. That's why I'm kind of wildly uneasy about a lot of this stuff. But I also take it as it comes, you know?" He concluded that while he can't change the new landscape, he can adapt to it. He now sees the increased access as a new tool he can use to create his own kind of magic in the ring. "One little old CM Punk standing against the current on this isn't going to change anything," he stated. "I might as well go with the flow on it."

Anne Hathaway Revives Andy Sachs in Jean Paul Gaultier Look on ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2' Set

Andy Sachs is back, and in designer clothes. Anne Hathaway was seen reprising the iconic role on Monday, while filming 'The Devil Wears Prada 2' in the streets of New York City. The actress was wearing a vintage pinstriped look by Jean Paul Gaultier Femme. The costume featured a cutout stripe vest, paired with matching trousers reminiscent of Gaultier's 1990s collections. The designer, who retired in January 2020, became strongly associated with stripes, especially the classic Breton or sailor stripe (marinière), over the years. His penchant for pinstripes was referenced in the Gaultier Paris Sacai couture fall 2021 collection, which was designed by Sacai creative director Chitose Abe. Her final look featured a $14,910 gold necklace by Jemma Wynne and leather booties, with block heels. The actress, who first played Andy Sachs in 2006, shared a picture of the Jean Paul Gaultier costume on Instagram. 'Andy Sachs 2025,' she captioned the post, adding a mention to the 20th Century Studios, the studio responsible for the new movie. In another post teasing the film, Hathaway is seen wearing a colorful patchwork dress by Gabriela Hearst while carrying the Basket Forty8 handbag. In addition to the Jemma Wynne necklace from the previous look, she also wore a $26,800 gold choker by Marlo Laz. Based on Lauren Weisberger's 2003 novel of the same name, 'The Devil Wears Prada' had a profound impact on fashion by solidifying its status as an iconic style reference point for viewers, designers and fashion creatives. The film's curated wardrobe, styled by Patricia Field, and its depiction of the fashion industry's allure fueled widespread fascination with high fashion, but also led to resurgences in the popularity of luxury brands such as Prada and Versace. Hathaway announced she would reprise her role as Andy Sachs in 2024. She is also confirmed to play Mia Thermopolis in a third film of 'The Princess Diaries' franchise. 'I was so beautifully cared for on both of those films,' Hathaway told WWD, remembering the roles that marked her career. 'I was a baby, like a legal child, when I made 'Princess Diaries' — I turned 18 while we were making it, and I was a very, very young woman when I made 'Devil Wears Prada.' I was so guided and looked after and cared for by the communities that made both of those films in particular, each of their directors, Garry Marshall and David Frankel. I'm so excited that now I can do that for other people, that now I have the knowledge and the experience and the confidence to take care of other people on sets in which I'm looked at as a leader.' Set to release in May, 'The Devil Wears Prada 2' will also see the return of Meryl Streep as Miranda Priestly, Emily Blunt as Emily Charlton and Stanley Tucci as Nigel. Lucy Liu, Justin Theroux, B.J. Novak, Pauline Chalamet, Simone Ashley, Helen J. Shen and Conrad Ricamora are also joining the cast. The director of 'The Devil Wears Prada 2' is Frankel, who also directed the first film.
