Police responded to a reported stabbing early Sunday morning near the 100 block of Galisteo Street, Deputy Chief Ben Valdez wrote in a news release. There, officers found a 39-year-old victim with an apparent stab wound who reported going to a downtown bar where three men robbed and stabbed him during a fight.
The victim was transported to a local hospital and is in stable condition, Valdez wrote.

* A man wearing an NBA-style jersey over a black long-sleeve shirt featuring the number 21 or 81, dark sunglasses and light jeans.
* A man wearing a dark shirt, black baseball cap, green jacket and dark pants.
"The Santa Fe Police Department is seeking assistance identifying the three suspects," Valdez wrote.

Nets' Michael Porter Jr. defends brother's honor amid gambling scandal
The post Nets' Michael Porter Jr. defends brother's honor amid gambling scandal appeared first on ClutchPoints. Sports gambling has been a hot topic throughout the NBA amid several scandals over the last few years. Brooklyn Nets forward Michael Porter Jr. recently opened up on the temptation players face amid a high-profile scandal involving his brother, Jontay. 'The integrity of the game, the sports gambling stuff can affect that a lot,' Porter Jr. said on the One Night with Steiny podcast. 'Think about it, if you can get all your homies rich by telling them, 'Yo, bet $10,000 on my under this one game. I'm gonna act like I got an injury and I'm gonna sit out, I'm gonna come out after three minutes.' And they all get a little bag because you did that one game. That is so not ok, but some people probably think like that. They come from nothing, and all their homies have nothing. And they're like, bro, if I come out of this game after three minutes and y'all all hit on my under, we're all getting a little bag. 'Obviously, my brother went through his situation. Malik Beasley's going through a situation right now. Terry Rozier was in some hot water. But the whole sports gambling entity, it's bad and it's only gonna get worse.' Jontay Porter is one of several players the league has investigated for betting activity. Michael Porter Jr. opens up on brother's gambling struggles amid investigation The NBA permanently banned Jontay Porter in April 2024 for violating the league's gambling policy. An investigation found that he schemed to take himself out of games to help bettors win on his player props. The former Toronto Raptors big man said he did it, 'to get out from under large gambling debts.' Michael Porter Jr. elaborated on his brother's gambling problem during a vlog on his YouTube channel. 'Everybody has different vices. Everybody has different things that they struggle with… My brother, for example, struggled with gambling. My vice has always come in the form of women,' he said. 'My brother Jontay, he didn't struggle with that vice. I didn't struggle with gambling addiction. I never struggle with that vice. God gave me a lot of money cuz he figured I could handle it and not lose myself in that area. And maybe Jontay, he was not blessed with tons of money because he struggled with that area of the idolization of money. I have not been blessed with a wife because maybe I am not prepared to handle that because of my struggles.' Jontay Porter's scandal was one of several recent investigations into NBA players' gambling. In June, the U.S. District Attorney's office opened an investigation into Detroit Pistons shooting guard Malik Beasley for allegedly betting on games. The NBA also investigated Terry Rozier in 2023 for unusual betting activity on player props involving the guard. However, Rozier has not been charged or accused of any wrongdoing. Drone allows Mayor Adams real time, bird's eye view of NYC emergencies
He's watching over Gotham. Mayor Adams has been tapping into NYPD drone footage to get an immediate assessment during the city's most critical emergencies, officials told The Post. 'I can send him a link upon his request to be able to see in real time what's happening on the ground,' Deputy Mayor of Public Safety Kaz Daughtry said of Adams, the first NYC mayor to have this access. 'Remember, he was a police officer. He doesn't want to get updates on the phone. He wants to get them in real time.' 6 Mayor Adams got a link to live feed from the shooting at 345 Park Avenue in Midtown while he was in his car. Andrew Schwartz / The mayor was watching the NYPD's response to 345 Park Ave., after gunman Shane Tamura, 27, walked across the outdoor plaza wielding an AR-15-style rifle and murdered four people inside before killing himself, Daughtry said. When he saw how dire the situation was, he got there as fast as he could, Daughtry said. 'I spoke to him several times during that whole incident,' Daughtry said, explaining he told the mayor the NYPD called a level three mobilization. 6 Deputy Mayor Kaz Daughtry sends teh mayor a link when there's a large incident or event he needs to know about. Leonardo Munoz 'We're calling for resources from all over the city to respond because this is an active shooter situation,' Daughtry said, explaining the level three. 'We immediately deployed the drone. They're part of that mobilization.' Adams watched the video from his car and saw people running out of the building with their hands up. 'He was like, 'I can't believe this is happening in our city,'' Daughtry recalled. 6 The mayor tapped into the drone feed to monitor a recent large protest in Manhattan. Michael Nigro 'Now, as NYPD officers are running into a building you've got folks running out with their hands up. I think that made him respond to the scene faster.' In April, the mayor watched rescue efforts from above after a helicopter carrying a Spanish family on a sightseeing tour plummeted into the Hudson River. 'Immediately he says 'Is everyone OK?' Daughtry recalled. 'Do we have our drones up yet can you please send me a link?'' 6 Shooter Shane Tamura killed four people inside the building before fatally shooting himself. AP Adams watched as the family of five and pilot were being pulled out of the water, saw efforts to resuscitate them with CPR, and rushed to the scene. 'I told him, 'We're pulling out victims now and it's not looking good,'' Daughtry recalled. 'If he wants to see the drones, he can look real time and he can make decisions from his vehicle,' Daughtry said. 'That's only for high profile incidents. There's got to be something that rises to the magnitude where we're notifying the mayor in real time.' 6 The mayor is able to access the drone feed during large incidents. Leonardo Munoz Daughtry has been a staunch cheerleader for the NYPD's drone program since it started in 2019. The department uses the unmanned aerial vehicles for everything from crimefighting, to search and rescue and disaster response. The NYPD has about 100 drones at its command and an equal number of police officers who are certified by the Federal Aviation Administration to fly them. In 2024, the NYPD started its Drone as a First Responder (DFR) program, which deploys the unmanned aerial vehicles on 911 calls to get an overview of the scene and improve situational awareness for cops. 6 The mayor also got a link to watch rescue efforts after a helicopter crahed into the Hudson River in April. Bruce Wall The department also uses drones to locate and rescue swimmers in distress off the city's beaches — along with the FDNY — and detect illegal activities, such as subway surfing. Civil libertarians have cried foul, arguing the video surveillance violates privacy rights. 'The drones are a force multiplier and they just add a real time sense of what's going on,' he said. 'People said it would not work and it is working here.' The Adams administration pointed out that shootings and shooting victims are at historic lows in the city because of efforts to take guns off the street, gang takedowns and precision policing. 'As technology evolves, we are evolving with it — and drones have become a critical crime-fighting tool that helps our officers do exactly that,' Adams said in a statement. 'Real-time camera access for our senior leadership during emergencies or mass protests allows us to keep communities safe and respond to active incidents faster.'

NYC could become a tourism hotspot – for sex – if socialist Zohran Mamdani becomes mayor, critics warn: ‘Shocks the conscience'
Welcome to Vice City, 2026. NYC Democratic mayoral frontrunner Zohran Mamdani has been a passionate supporter of decriminalizing prostitution — leaving many critics fearful the Big Apple will devolve into a hedonistic den of iniquity if he wins November's general election. As far back as when he was running for state Assembly in 2020, Mamdani has cheered that hookers should be able to turn tricks with impunity. 'Not only must we decriminalize sex work, we need a comprehensive platform of justice for all,' Mamdani said on the campaign trail in May 2020. And as a Queens assemblyman, he's co-sponsored multiple versions of legislation to decriminalize sex work statewide that remain stalled, supports them annually, and has spoken out in favor of the proposed law change many times. 'I would like to register my support for [decriminalizing sex work] legislation, my eagerness for that debate and for my fundamental belief that sex work is work,' he said at a February 2021 Assembly meeting. Yet Mamdani has barely said a word on the topic during his mayoral run, leaving many critics fearful he's ready to roll out a Trojan Horse-style plan should he win the election. 5 NYC mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani has been a passionate supporter of decriminalizing prostitution but has remained on the subject while on the campaign. Getty Images 'The public needs to be fully aware that Mr. Mamdani wants a New York City where selling sex, buying sex, and promoting the sale of sex is completely normal and legal,' warned Sonia Ossorio, executive director of National Organization for Women NYC, which works to advance women's rights, policy and leadership. 'But unlike many of his most concerning and controversial positions, he's not out there talking about this because he knows it shocks the conscience.' 'The consequences' of decriminalizing prostitution would mean the Big Apple 'becoming a sex tourism destination,' potentially rivaling the red-light district in Amsterdam and parts of Belgium and Nevada where selling sex is legal, she added. Proponents of decriminalizing sex work claim allowing legal sex work leaves hookers — especially those who are trans, illegal migrants or people of color — less vulnerable to violence and exploitation by pimps, johns and even police officers. But many studies of countries and cities where prostitution is legal — including in Europe and parts of Nevada — show it typically leads to increases in crime, including human trafficking, organized crime and violence against prostitutes. Similar studies that were inconclusive found no significant drops in crime. 5 Queens residents have complained about Roosevelt Avenue's 'Market of Sweethearts' and the quality-of-life issues stemming from it. For the New York Post Ossorio said decriminalizing prostitution in other parts of the world has historically led to sex work and sex trade expanding there, something she fears could happen in the Big Apple if Mamdani becomes mayor. 'What happens when you have more paying customers?' she said. 'You have to go to the poorest neighborhoods and recruit young girls, and you have to import younger people from other countries. That is not in line with Mr. Mamdani's slogan [of providing] 'dignity for everyone.'' If elected mayor, Mamdani would still need to go through the state Legislature to decriminalize sex work, but he'd be in a prime position to better advocate for such changes as well as ensuring that cracking down on prostitution is a low priority for the NYPD. 5 Mamdani noted his stance on decriminalizing sex work in his 2020 state Assembly campaign. Clusters of New York City have been inundated with an influx of hookers and pimps brazenly peddling flesh on public streets since legislation repealing a state statute prohibiting loitering for the purpose of prostitution was signed into law in February 2021 by then-Gov. Andrew Cuomo, critics said. They include Queens' infamous migrant 'Market of Sweethearts' along the Roosevelt Avenue corridor in Jackson Heights, Corona and other surrounding neighborhoods; seedy Penn Track in East New York, Brooklyn; and a sleazy section of the South Bronx called 'The Hub.' Both Rosa Sanchez, president of the Restore Roosevelt Avenue Coalition, and former Queens Councilman Hiram Monserrate – who used the represent the neighborhoods encompassing the 'Market of the Sweethearts' – said the area will only get worse under Mamdani. 'I strongly believe crime will rise even more here,' said Sanchez. 'Our community is already suffering with all the crime and prostitution and all the gangs affiliated with prostitution. We've seen Roosevelt Avenue deteriorate with young ladies on corners. What example are we setting for our children?' The NYPD did put a dent in the lawlessness earlier this year during its 90-day Operation Restore Roosevelt operation, with Mayor Eric Adams in June announcing crime had dropped 28% along the seedy strip compared to the previous year. However, the department scaled back its presence after the surge, Monseratte said. 5 Mamdani has repeatedly co-sponsored state legislation to decriminalize sex work. NY Assembly Republican mayoral candidate Curtis Sliwa painted an even gloomier picture. 'If Zohran Mamdani becomes mayor, what we see now in Corona, Elmhurst, Jackson Heights, and downtown Flushing could spread to all 350 neighborhoods in New York City, and he would do nothing to stop our streets from becoming red-light districts,' barked the founder of the Guardian Angels crime watchdog group. Adams said he believes decriminalizing sex work would only make it easier for prostitutes to be exploited while emboldening 'those who profit off the pain of others.' 'Our administration will never turn a blind eye to the abuse, violence, and human suffering that comes with this trade,' said Adams, a retired NYPD captain, in a statement to The Post. 'We are cracking down on traffickers and illegal operations, while offering real resources and a path forward for those trapped in this life. That's the balance — compassion for victims, zero tolerance for exploitation. New Yorkers deserve safety and dignity, not policies that handcuff law enforcement and open the door to more abuse.' 5 Mamdani wasn't shy about his stance on sex work in this May 2020 social media post. Cuomo put out a press release Friday — after being contacted by The Post — touting that he 'spent years' as governor opposing legislative attempts by Mamdani and other far-left pols to decriminalize sex work. Mamdani did not return requests for comment.
