But, the Ibrox boss conceded the fixture might just come too soon as he voiced his hope for Aasgaard to at least be back and ready for the second leg should he be sidelined on Tuesday.
"It's disappointing for him and for us," Martin told Rangers TV.
"He has been everything we thought we were getting and more. Since he has been in he has been incredible.

"His understanding, his athleticism, the power he has, the technical capability, he really is an exciting player for us.
"Unfortunately, it is a different level of intensity and it has been high demands in pre-season.
"He has picked up a little something so he is going to be touch and go.
"We hope he can be involved but if not then we are really hopeful he will be ready and raring to go for the second one."

Union Bears scrap Rangers tifo for Champions League clash as ultras group issue statement
Gers welcome Viktoria Plzen in the first leg of their third round qualifying encounter The Union Bears have confirmed that they have shelved plans for a tifo display at Ibrox tonight ahead of Rangers' Champions League showdown with Viktoria Plzen due to the effects of Storm Floris. Russell Martin 's men take on the Czech side in the first leg of their third round qualifying showdown before travelling to the continent for the return fixture in eight days time. Should they emerge victorious over two legs, then they will face the winner of the tie between Club Brugge and Red Bull Salzburg for a place in the main section of the Champions League, which could see the club bank up to as much as £40million. However, the players will not be welcomed onto a pitch by a huge tifo from the Broomloan Stand after the Union Bears reluctantly pulled the plug on the display. Their statement on X read: "Due to the wind/adverse weather we are reluctantly pulling tonight's planned tifo. "After weeks of work this decision is the last thing we wanted but we've been left with no choice. "In the absence of a tifo we urge all fans heading to Ibrox tonight bring a scarf and more importantly bring the noise and back the team right from the start. Martin is looking for a quickfire response from his players after tearing into them in the wake of Saturday's 1-1 draw at Fir Park in their Premiership opener with Motherwell. The former Southampton boss will welcome new signing Oliver Antman into the squad after he rubber-stamped a £4million switch from Go Ahead Eagles on Sunday. Rangers will however be without fellow new recruit Mikey Moore after the Tottenham loanee's paperwork to get the green-light from UEFA wasn't processed in time for the game because of his under 18 status. Norway international Thelo Aasgaard will still have to wait for his official Light Blues debut as he continues his recovery from an injury while striker Hamza Igamane has also been ruled out of the first leg clash against the Czechs. 'I became an instant lover of attacking football'
We know the relationship between a football fan and their club is a special one so, as we gear up for the new season, we asked you to share why you fell in love with Tottenham and some of your favourite moments supporting is a selection of your submissions: Martin: My cousin lived five houses up the road from me and he owned a football. He said he supported Tottenham Hotspur and because I barely saw a ball at our house, I also said Tottenham.I was five years old and he was two years older so I really looked up to him. The year was 1966 and Tottenham won the cup a year later! After three or four years, he went to secondary school in Ewell, Surrey and supported Chelsea. I haven't wanted Chelsea to win a game since. 'Leaked' Rangers team for Viktoria Plzen sees ruthless Russell Martin wield the axe on four big hitters
Will Martin's post match blast at Fir Park be an empty threat or will he take action? Russell Martin said what many Rangers fans have felt for years about the some of the current squad members when the blazing boss went nuclear with his fizzing Fir Park post match interview. But supporters will find out if he will follow it up by actually taking drastic action when they face Viktoria Plzen in their huge Champions League third round qualifying first leg. And if the leaked team sweeping social media in the hours building up to the match are anything to go by then it seems Martin might be about to get ruthless. For a start, in the XI being bandied about there is NO place for captain James Tavernier with the skipper, despite opening the scoring against Motherwell, coming in for criticism for his part in the Steelmen's late leveller. Martin referred to players 'just jogging around' and both Tavernier and the much-maligned Kieran Dowell didn't cover themselves in glory in the build up to the late sucker punch, neither strong enough in the tackle to stop Emmanuel Longelo as he made his way into the box before the ball ended up back him to fire past Jack Butland. Tavernier has split the Ibrox support for long enough with many fans believing a succession of managers' loyalty to the long-serving skipper has cost them. And with Max Aarons a natural right back being played on the left - and looking uncomfortable - to accommodate Tavernier then it could be Martin will choose to bench Tavernier and bring Jefte into the left back slot. Martin surprised many by turning to Dowell this season when it looked like the ex-Norwich City man's Ibrox career was over when he was shipped out on loan to Birmingham City. And he hasn't made the most of his second chance in this three outings this season but with the signing of Oliver Antman and his inclusion in the Champions League squad then it wouldn't be a major surprise to see that swap, as the rumoured line-up suggests. Martin picked out Cyriel Dessers and Lyall Cameron for praise in terms of attitude amid a blast about egos in the squad and those two could also come in. And that would also see the axe fall on Nico Raskin, with Joe Rothwell's arrival squeezing him out of the position he did so well in last season, and Danilo.
