Gemma Collins shows off her natural short hair in makeup-free selfie as she jets off on holiday after being left 'terrified' by an 'abusive and menacing' letter sent to her home
Gemma Collins showed off her natural short locks as she ditched her hair extensions to jet off on a sun-soaked holiday.
The TOWIE star, 44, told her Instagram followers that she'd 'activated' holiday mode as she showed off her bob on Wednesday morning.
The post, in which a tanned Gemma posed for a selfie in a pair of heart-shaped sunglasses, also saw her show off her natural beauty as she went makeup-free.
Alongside the photo she penned: 'Holiday MODE ACTIVATED. loving my old skool @chloe glasses (yellow heart emoji) make up free short hair it's a VIBE.
'Just some individual lashes and a lip (lips emoji) blush from 6 years ago mine really lasted'.
Gemma's bob is a far-cry from the look she sported during her years on The Only Way is Essex.
The GC - who is currently engaged to businessman Rami Hawash, 50 - usually rocks a much longer flowing blonde hairstyle.
Fans however were a fan of the change-up, with some taking to the comments section of Gemma's post to compliment her.
They wrote: 'Love the bob', 'Love your hair too xx 20 years younger xx', 'Lovely, the haircut really suits you'.
Gemma's getaway comes just a week or so after she was left 'terrified' when she received an 'abusing and menacing' letter to the home.
The GC was forced to call in police as the man behind the letter detailed his strong dislike for her, even threatening to track her down.
A source close to the reality TV star told The Sun in mid-June: 'Gemma was left shaken and very scared for her safety after she received a threatening and abusive letter from a man expressing his extreme dislike for her and using menacing language.
'It was really nasty and made reference to tracking her down, so she called the police straight away.
'It was alarming that this man knew her home address, but she already upped security and has round-the-clock guard dogs and has cameras onsite.
'She is always incredibly friendly with all her fans and happy to stop for pictures and a chat so to have someone send such an unpleasant letter has really shocked her.'
The insider shared that there is now an ongoing investigation and Gemma is 'grateful' to the police for taking the matter seriously.
The source added: 'She thought about what had happened to Holly Willoughby and her kidnap threat ordeal so didn't want to take any chances.'
MailOnline contacted Gemma's representatives for comment about the matter.
And in what has clearly been a rocky June for the reality star, she was also struck down with pneumonia earlier this month.
After being left with no choice but to take some time off social media, Gemma returned to let her fans know the extent of her illness.
She explained that her condition had been leaving her breathless 'really quickly' but due to medics diagnosing it as viral, antibiotics would be ineffective.
She told The Mirror: 'It's shocking, I've had it now for over three weeks and I had steroids given to me by my doctor. It was DJ Fat Tony's wedding and I had to take them to get through that,'
'But I'm off them now and the sickness is really kicking back in. It's so frustrating because I normally have so much energy and I'm always loving life, but now I get really breathless really quickly and I feel like I'm dying.'
Pneumonia is inflammation of the lungs, usually caused by an infection. Most people get better in two to four weeks, but babies, older people, and people with heart or lung conditions are at risk of getting seriously ill and may need treatment in hospital.
Taking to her Stories Gemma shared snaps as she underwent X-rays while praising medical staff for their care.
She wrote: 'Thank you to all the amazing doctors helping me your real life angels'.
Announcing the news of her condition in early June, Gemma shared a photo of herself in bed looking poorly in bed.
She wrote: 'Hey guys sorry been quiet i have Pneumonia. I'm not as fast or on it as I usually am on the daily.
'I am still honouring my work commitments which is taking every bit of energy I have but will be back entertaining you all soon.'
On her Story she added an update as she showed she was on a drip and had been visited by a doctor.
One post that showed a drip in her arm read: 'I'm having to take it easy which is not like me very slow and get so out of breath and tired so quick.'

There are so many questions swirling around the forthcoming wedding of Jeff Bezos to Lauren Sánchez this weekend – for instance, who in their right mind books Venice in high summer? In which case, and with all due respect, why Sánchez? I don't mean this to be as rude at it sounds. Lauren Sánchez, a 55-year-old former TV presenter and licensed pilot, is, I'm sure, funny and clever and up there with Peter Ustinov as a great dinner party guest. Her betrothed, on the other hand, doesn't appear to be a man comfortable with making anything but the most obvious choices. Bezos got rich, built a rocket, and turned himself from a weedy tech nerd into a comic-book Mr Universe so that these days he looks like a man wearing an Amazon cardboard box under his polo shirt. That this person would choose not only a woman a mere six years younger than himself but one who, stylistically speaking, edges closer every year to the Jocelyne Wildenstein school of bizarre beautification speaks either to the loveliness of a genuine soul match or something else altogether. By which I mean: the strange aesthetic that many women inside the Maga world seem enthusiastically to have taken up as the norm. If there is a Maga look for women it is the one exemplified not only by Sánchez but by Kristi Noem, the head of Homeland Security mockingly nicknamed ICE Barbie for her combination of pageant-style looks and heavy-handed immigration policing, and by Melania Trump, whose eyes are creeping slowly but inexorably up the sides of her temples in what is informally known as 'Mar-a-Lago' face. What's odd about this style isn't that it's augmented, but that it's an aesthetic which seems deliberately to draw attention to its own artificiality in a way that, in other contexts, might be referred to as 'bad work'. People with money can make poor choices about cosmetic surgery too, of course, but the uniformity of this particular look – so heavy on the filler, silicone and Botox as to make its wearers seem not younger, but weirder, and in a state of constant discomfort – suggests something closer to design. If you were the type of person to make liberal references to The Handmaid's Tale, you might even speculate that this aesthetic has been tailored by the world's richest men to symbolise just how completely – almost derisively – they can control the bodies of the women around them. But let's focus on the wedding, which has provided us this week with welcome respite from the news from Iran, with the spectacle of a man worth $223bn being frightened off by the threat of angry locals coming at him with pool floats. The wedding on Saturday was originally planned to take place in the centre of Venice at the Scuola Grande della Misericordia, a 16th-century meeting hall surrounded by canals, raising the spectacle of notable guests including Oprah, the Kardashians and Ivanka Trump arriving on public waterways via open-air taxi. It is safe to say the Venetians weren't happy. After a group called No Space for Bezos lightly threatened to disrupt the guests' arrival with inflatable alligators, Bezos changed venues to a less accessible hall outside the centre. (It should be noted that No Space for Bezos is not the same as Everyone Hates Elon, a different but equally energised group that unfurled a huge banner in the Piazza San Marco bearing the legend, 'If you can rent Venice for your wedding then you can pay more tax.' Let's hope Mark Zuckerberg, who will reportedly be at the wedding, gets his own bespoke group along these lines.) 'We are very proud of this!' said Tommaso Cacciari, No Space for Bezos's spokesperson, to the BBC on Tuesday. 'We are nobodies, we have no money, nothing!' Meanwhile, protest groups including Greenpeace are still planning on demonstrating in the city centre on Saturday to draw attention to the obscenity of a projected 90-odd private jets flying in for the event. As for Bezos and Sánchez, let's end on a gracious note and wish them all the happiness in the world as they marry in a city that doesn't want them, in front of 200 people who don't know them, in a celebration of money over sense. Graham White was amazed when he found the budget apartment going for a jaw-dropping price of just £17 per person. 5 It cost the 48-year-old and his three mates just £136 for two nights - or £68 for one - making it just £17 per person. But there was one bizarre condition. The tourist, who has over 75,000 followers on TikTok, said: 'I would stay there again, but the only thing is you couldn't be loud after 11pm." The strange rule stated that tenants had to be quiet after an 11pm curfew - despite it being located right above one of the busiest clubs in town. His post has received hundreds of comments online with many slamming the apartment for being too noisy. One user said: 'Ye get no sleep to much noise. Stayed there.' Another added: 'Poor man's Dubai.' One even said that when staying there, they couldn't get any sleep. 'I stayed there years ago … no sleep for 4 days," they said. Daisy Edgar-Jones to lead new big screen take on Sense and Sensibility
Daisy Edgar-Jones is set to lead a new big screen adaptation of Jane Austen's Sense and Sensibility. The actor, who broke out in hit miniseries Normal People, is set to play Elinor in a movie based on the first novel from the author whose 250th birthday is being celebrated by a number of events this year. The 27-year-old teased the news on Instagram in a post of her holding the book. Production is set to begin next month. The film will be directed by Georgia Oakley, who received acclaim for her 80s-set drama Blue Jean which told the story of a lesbian teacher keeping her sexuality under wraps in Thatcher's England. It will also boast Working Title producers Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner who previously worked together on 2005's Pride and Prejudice starring Keira Knightley and 2020's Emma with Anya Taylor-Joy. The story tells of the Dashwood sisters who are in need of financial security and seek it via potential suitors. It was previously turned into an Oscar-winning film in 1995 by Ang Lee with Emma Thompson and Kate Winslet starring as well as a BBC series in 2008. The film joins an upcoming Netflix series based on Pride and Prejudice starring Emma Corrin, Jack Lowden and Olivia Colman. Since her role in the romantic drama series based on Sally Rooney's novel, Edgar-Jones has starred in dating thriller Fresh, blockbuster sequel Twisters, a hit adaptation of Where the Crawdads Sing and 50s-set queer drama On Swift Horses. She will next be seen opposite Michelle Williams in workplace thriller A Place in Hell from Fair Play writer-director Chloe Dumont.
