I Just Discovered the "Most Delicious" Onion Hack

Yahoo25-03-2025
Sometimes, the best cooking trends are actually the simplest ones. When feta eggs went viral last year, people already had the ingredients on hand to make that cheesy breakfast. Then, shaved fruit took over TikTok, and all you needed was a Microplane. Now, there's another easy and delicious hack that's taking over social media, and you only need two staples.
On social media, a brilliant new hack is taking off — transforming onions into a delicious, cheesy, and crunchy chip. With just two ingredients and less than 30 minutes, you can pull off this savory snack that's easy to make and packed with flavor.
Here's how to make 'onion ring chips,' as people on social media are calling them: Start by preheating your oven to 400°F and lining a baking sheet with parchment paper. Slice a large onion using a mandoline or knife. Next, generously sprinkle Parmesan onto the baking sheet, then arrange the onion slices on top. (You can brush them with olive oil and season with your favorite spices at this point, too.) Bake for about 20 minutes or until the edges are golden and crispy. Let them cool for a few minutes, then use a knife or pizza slicer to cut them into bite-sized chip pieces.
Of course, it doesn't end there. This hack is super customizable. You don't have to stick with yellow onions — if you prefer a sharper flavor, you can use red onions instead. When it comes to seasoning, think of these like potato chips — you can dust them with whatever spices you love. For a spicy kick, try cayenne pepper or harissa. For a tangy twist, finish them off with vinegar and flaky sea salt. If you're into BBQ flavors, a dash of paprika, onion powder, and brown sugar will do the trick. It's no surprise that people on social media are loving this onion ring chip hack. When @kalejunkie, a recipe creator on Instagram, shared the tutorial, one person commented, 'Omg these look so fun I gotta try it!' while another said, 'Tested these out yesterday. Omg they're so goooood.' Chances are, you already have an onion and some Parmesan in your kitchen, so if you're curious, why not give this viral snack a try?

Serena Williams Shows Off Her Figure in Bright Yellow Swimsuit After Announcing Weight Loss from GLP-1

NEED TO KNOW Serena Williams posed confidently for a series of swimsuit photos seen in an Instagram carousel uploaded on Thursday, Aug. 21 The tennis star's post came soon after she discussed her successful weight loss, revealing that she used a GLP-1 medication to help and has since lost over 31 lbs. Williams also opened up about body positivity, her self-confidence and losing the weight Serena Williams is radiating both inside and out! The retired tennis star, 43, confidently shined in a yellow bathing suit for a series of Instagram photos shared shortly after she opened up to PEOPLE about her weight loss journey with a GLP-1 medication during an exclusive interview. The images featured Williams striking several poses while standing in knee-deep waters, wearing a yellow, one-piece swimsuit with a cutout in the center and an untied bowtie. She accessorized with a green bandana around her neck and black shades. The 23-time Grand Slam champion stood strong, smiling with her hands on her hips in the first shot, spread her arms out wide for the playful, candid second snap and turned slightly profile with her arm back down by her side for a third picture. She added a selfie of herself to conclude her carousel, which showed off floral details on her green bandana and accessories. She threw her hand up into the air, freely, while her blonde tendrils gently blew in her face. "melanin mellow-yellow ⚠️," she captioned the Instagram carousel, uploaded on Thursday, Aug. 21. Prior to her Instagram post, the tennis icon — who shares Olympia, 6, and Adira, 1, with her husband, Alexis Ohanian — opened up about her weight loss journey, revealing that she has been using a GLP-1 medication to help with weight loss and has since lost over 31 lbs. "I feel great," she told PEOPLE exclusively in August. "I feel really good and healthy. I feel light physically and light mentally." Williams says her struggle with weight began after she gave birth to her first daughter, Olympia, in 2017, and her body started to change postpartum. "I never was able to get to the weight I needed to be, no matter what I did, no matter how much I trained,' she explained. "It was crazy because I'd never been in a place like that in my life where I worked so hard, ate so healthy and could never get down to where I needed to be at." The decorated athlete noted how she's always put in the physical work, but the outcome was different post-pregnancy. "I had never taken shortcuts in my career and always worked really hard. I know what it takes to be the best," she made known. "So it was very frustrating to do all the same things and never be able to change that number on the scale or the way my body looked." Williams welcomed her second child, daughter Adira River, in August 2023, and experienced similar struggles to her first after giving birth again. She was able to lose a lot of weight in two weeks, but then remained stagnant afterwards. "I never lost another pound," she revealed. That's when she decided to turn to Ro, a direct-to-patient healthcare company, for additional support with a GLP-1 treatment. GLP-1 is short for glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists, which work in the brain to impact satiety. Popular brands include Ozempic and Mounjaro. Prior to using it, Williams said she "did a lot of research on it" to understand the benefits and additional positive and/or negative effects, and also confided in her doctor to ensure it was right for her. The Olympic gold medalist was able to start the weekly injections about six months after Adira was born, when she stopped breastfeeding in early 2024. Since her weight loss, she said she feels better than ever. "I just can do more. I'm more active. My joints don't hurt as much," she shared, though noted that her confidence and self-love has stayed the same. "Weight loss should never really change your self image," she told PEOPLE. "Women often experience judgment about their bodies at any size, and I'm no stranger to that. So I feel like you should love yourself at any size and any look." Read the original article on People

Serena Williams shocked fans with her new, slim selfie. Here's her secret

No shame in her game. Serena Williams is coming clean about how she lost a dramatic amount of weight. Fans were shocked the other day by Williams' Instagram selfie, dressed in a tummy baring crop top and Grecian skirt, looking like a real life 'Incredible Shrinking Woman,' 2025 edition. Some commenters on her post didn't even recognize her. Some thought she was ill. Others assumed she was on a trendy weight loss drug like the rest of Hollywood. Ding, ding, ding! The tennis champion did indeed use a GLP-1 to achieve that svelte body. Originally developed for type 2 diabetes, meds such as semaglutide (e.g., Ozempic, Wegovy) and tirzepatide (Mounjaro and Zepbound) work by mimicking the hormone glucagon-like peptide 1, which is released in our gut when we eat, and makes us feel full. Long story short: the magic shot makes you forget about food for a while. Williams is totally owning it, too. 'I feel really good and healthy,' she told People magazine in a new interview. 'I feel light physically and light mentally.' The Palm Beach Gardens resident explained her rationale for going the non-natural route. Despite how much she worked out and dieted, the scale didn't budge the way it used to, pre-kids. First daughter Olympia (with husband Alexis Ohanian) was born in September 2017; Adira came along six years later (the tot turns 2 on Friday). In late 2024, Williams had literally enough of carrying around those extra pounds. To get motivated, she launched an online 'denim skirt challenge,' determined to fit into a cute Valentino creation she acquired before becoming a mom. Thanks to grinding at the gym and making the right choices with food, the 43-year-old champ saw major gains (as in losses), but still had a ways to go. 'I never was able to get to the weight I needed to be no matter what I did, no matter how much I trained,' she told the outlet. 'It was crazy because I'd never been in a place like that in my life where I worked so hard.'' When she finally came to terms with the fact she needed medical intervention, Williams did her homework. The California native became a spokesperson for direct-to-patient online pharmacy Ro to find the right treatment plan, which turned out to be Zepbound. 'I did a lot of research on it. I was like, 'Is this a shortcut? What are the benefits? What are not the benefits?' I really wanted to dive into it before I just did it.' Not only does Williams have no regrets after shedding 31 pounds, she wants to help others who may be hesitant to jump on the bandwagon themselves. 'GLP-1 helped me enhance everything that I was already doing — eating healthy and working out, whether it was as a professional athlete at the top level of tennis or just going to the gym every day,' she said of her ongoing weekly injections. 'So I think that it's important for everyone to hear my story... I feel like there's a lot of people that can relate.'

TikTok Made Me Do It: Soccer Jersey Outfits To Try Now

European soccer dominated sports bars and Instagram feeds this summer — especially with the Lionesses ' UEFA cup win and women's soccer gaining more global momentum. Add in some major pop culture tie-ins (Ted Lasso' s fourth season announcement focusing on a women's team, and a rumored Bend It Like Beckham sequel), and it's no surprise the soccer aesthetic is hitting harder than ever. Adidas mini track shorts (recently worn by Zoë Kravitz and more fashion It girls) also just landed on Lyst Index's Q2 hottest products list. Plus, cleats (spotted on Rosalía) are popping up as an unexpected streetwear choice, according to Style Analytics. But TikTok has crowned the ultimate summer MVP of the sporty trend: the soccer jersey. I first noticed the look while scrolling on Pinterest and TikTok — girls styling soccer jerseys for more than just game day. Then I started spotting them IRL across NYC, worn to brunch, drinks, and just about everything in between. As someone who grew up watching and playing soccer, the resurgence made me nostalgic and sartorially intrigued. Ahead, see how I styled a few jerseys for everyday settings, from casual errands to the office and even nights out. And no, these jerseys aren't tied to specific teams or players — they're pieces I picked up from my favorite retailers, like Urban Outfitters and Old Navy. Think: less fandom, more athletics-chic.
