Rod Stewart donated thousands to family of Celtic fan who died

Aiden McLuckie tragically passed away following the fatal collision on the bridge over the Cessnock Water on the A76 near Hurlford in Ayrshire.
The incident happened shortly after 5pm on Wednesday, July 16. We reported how emergency crews raced to the scene; however, the 14-year-old pedestrian involved in the crash, later named as Aiden, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, police confirmed that the driver of the car involved in the collision, a man, and his two passengers were checked over by paramedics.
Aiden (Image: Police Scotland) Following the crash, a GoFundMe has been set up to help raise cash to support Aiden's family.
Yvonne Devlin, who set up the fundraiser, said: "We are heartbroken by the sudden passing of Aiden, following the tragic incident that happened.
"David, Olivia, and family have been absolutely devastated by this event and are looking for a wee bit of support; anything big or small is appreciated.
"Forever 14. RIP, wee man."
The GoFundMe has since gone on to raise more than £10,000 for Aiden's family, with legendary rocker and Hoops fan, Sir Rod Stewart, donating £4,000.
Rod Stewart donated thousands to family of Celtic fan who died (Image: Newsquest) Following the crash, Sergeant Brian Simpson from Road Policing said: 'Our thoughts remain with Aiden's family at this extremely difficult time, and we are providing them with specialist support as our enquiries continue to establish the full circumstances.
'I would again appeal to anyone with information to come forward. We are keen to speak to anyone who was driving in the area at the time and ask if anyone has dash-cam footage to please contact us.'
A Police Scotland spokesperson added: "Anyone with information is asked to call [[Police Scotland]] on 101 quoting incident number 2706 of Wednesday, July 16, 2025.
