Ahead of the long-delayed release of 'Hari Hara Veera Mallu Part 1', actor and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan opened up about the emotional journey behind the film and the many challenges it faced. Despite being one of Telugu cinema's most influential stars, the actor-politician humbly remarked that he doesn't see himself on the same commercial scale as some of his peers.advertisementSpeaking at a press meet in Hyderabad on Monday, Pawan said, 'Politically, I may have a recognisable name and a presence across the country. But when it comes to cinema, I know I don't rank as high as other heroes. That brings its own set of challenges. My films may not do the kind of business theirs do or bring in the same returns. My primary focus has always been politics. I never was competitive with films. My focus was always on social service. It is everyone's industry.'Here's the video:
He admitted that he rarely attends promotional events, not out of arrogance, but because he finds it difficult to market his own work. 'This press meet is for producer AM Rathnam. I'm here because of him,' he said, crediting the veteran producer's unwavering faith in keeping the film alive through its numerous delays and setbacks.'Hari Hara Veera Mallu' has had a troubled production history, with nearly a dozen postponements and changes behind the scenes. Initially helmed by director Krish Jagarlamudi, the film was conceived as a high-concept period drama. However, due to various circumstances, Krish stepped away, and the directorial reins were handed over to Jyothi Krisna, son of AM Rathnam.Acknowledging Krish's early involvement, Pawan said, 'Krish brought this as a high-concept project. I thank him for laying the foundation.' He also spoke candidly about the creative and financial difficulties that plagued the film. 'This project wasn't smooth. We had to face many challenges,' he said. Produced by A Dayakar Rao under Mega Surya Production and presented by AM Rathnam, the period action drama stars Pawan Kalyan, Nidhhi Agerwal, Bobby Deol, Sathyaraj, Nargis Fakhri, and others. The film's music is composed by MM Keeravani, with cinematography by Gnana Sekhar and Manoj Paramahamsa. It is slated for release on July 24.- Ends

'Hari Hara Veera Mallu' box office collections day 6: Pawan Kalyan's film sees sharp decline; mints Rs 77.57 crores

(Picture Courtesy: Facebook) Pawan Kalyan's much-awaited epic 'Hari Hara Veera Mallu' started its theatrical journey on a strong note. Unfortunately the highly awaited film has seen a sharp dip in collections as the days progressed. According to the Sacnilk website, the film opened with a respectable Rs 12.75 crore on its early release day (Wednesday), with all of it coming from the Telugu version. This figure saw a substantial rise on Day 1 (Thursday), touching Rs 34.75 crore across multiple languages. However, the following days revealed a steady decline in audience footfall. It was majorly due to the mediocre reviews for the film. Weekend surge proves temporary While Day 2 (Friday) brought in Rs 8 crore. . The weekend did show some signs of revival. Reportedly, Saturday and Sunday brought in Rs 9.15 crore and Rs 10.6 crore respectively. The Telugu version continued to dominate the revenue share. The Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, and Malayalam versions contributed minimal figures. However, this brief weekend boost failed to keep the momentum going as Monday collections plunged again to Rs 2.32 crore. While the film had the benefit of an ensemble cast including Nidhhi Agerwal, Bobby Deol, Nargis Fakhri, Nora Fatehi, Jisshu Sengupta, Sunil Varma, and Sathyaraj, it seems the initial buzz wasn't enough to sustain audience attention. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Is it better to shower in the morning or at night? Whether the collections can stabilize or continue their downward trend remains to be seen in the days ahead. Meanwhile, one major backstab for the Pawan Kalyan starrer is the criticisms for the VFX scenes in the movie, along with majority of the reviews slamming it's inconsistent story telling and weak performances. Overall, it's doubtful whether the big-budget movie will achieve a break-even in coming days.

Pawan Kalyan's Hari Hara Veera Mallu Director Admits To VFX Issues: ‘Anyone Will Troll...'

Last Updated: Hari Hara Veera Mallu, starring Pawan Kalyan, faced VFX criticism. Director Jyothi Krisna admitted flaws but defended the story. Hari Hara Veera Mallu, starring Pawan Kalyan, has been facing sharp criticism since its release mainly for its patchy VFX. Now, one of the film's directors, Jyothi Krisna, has responded to the backlash and admitted that he knew some visual effects in the film weren't quite up to the mark. The film, directed by Krish and Jyothi Krisna, released in theatres last Friday, with paid premieres held earlier on Wednesday. It stars Pawan Kalyan as Veera Mallu, Nidhhi Agerwal as Panchami, and Bobby Deol as Aurangzeb. Speaking to ABN in a recent interview, Jyothi said the issues people are pointing out are 'minor". 'Anyone will troll only those who are in the limelight. People only get views when they write about something famous. I do not take any of the negativity to heart. Every single day, I see something negative being written about Hari Hara Veera Mallu. This is not the first time a film has taken this long to produce." He added, 'When they nitpicked, all they could find was that the CGI and VFX were bad in some places. No one could point out the story and screenplay, or say it's boring, or that they can't understand it. There are 4400 shots in the film that required CGI. I knew in my heart that a few shots weren't up to par, but it wasn't something huge. We needed to hold special premieres for which tickets were sold out, and they turned that minor issue into something major." The film reportedly has over 4,400 VFX shots. Despite the criticism, it has done well at the box office, crossing Rs 100 crore in just four days. Over the weekend, an updated version of the film, with some of the bad VFX trimmed or removed, started playing in theatres. On Sunday, July 27, the makers shared a post featuring the poster of the film and writing alongside it, 'BATTLE FOR DHARMA JUST GOT BIGGER. Updated & reloaded content across all screens for the BEST cinematic experience. #HariHaraVeeraMallu – IN CINEMAS NOW." BATTLE FOR DHARMA JUST GOT BIGGER ⚔️⚔️Updated & reloaded content across all screens for the BEST cinematic experience 🔥🔥 #HariHaraVeeraMallu – IN CINEMAS NOW 💥💥 #BlockbusterHHVM Powerstar @PawanKalyan @AMRathnamOfl @thedeol #SatyaRaj @AgerwalNidhhi @amjothikrishna … — Hari Hara Veera Mallu (@HHVMFilm) July 27, 2025 The most significant changes were made to the film's climax. Originally, it featured a face-off between Pawan Kalyan's Veera Mallu and Bobby Deol's Aurangzeb in the middle of a tornado. That entire sequence has been removed. The film now features the scene where Aurangzeb says, 'Aandhi vachesindi (The storm is here)" while Veera Mallu rides in. The film ends with teasing the sequel to HHVM, titled Yuddhabhoomi or Battlefield, which will continue the story. First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
