Here we are talking about actress Nimrat Kaur , who began her career as a print model after graduating from Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi University. Born in March 1982, Nimrat is daughter of Major Bhupender Singh , an Indian Army officer. She spent her childhood in army cantonments in small towns. Unfortunately, tragedy struck when she was just 11 years old, as her father was abducted by the terror group Hizbul Mujahideen and killed.
In an old interview with ETimes, Nimrat Kaur spoke about her father, Major Bhupendra Singh, who became a martyr at the age of 44. She shared that her father was an engineer and was stationed in Verinag. Nimrat described him as a young army major assigned to a border area known as Verinag (located on the route from Jammu to Srinagar, just after the Jawahar Tunnel). She explained that during his time in Kashmir, he could not have his family with him, so they stayed in Patiala.
Nimrat revealed that her father was posted in Kashmir in January 1994, where he was attacked while at his office. She further recounted that he was kidnapped for a week before being fired from his job. The terrorists made unacceptable demands for his release, including the release of other terrorists, which her father, as a Major, refused to accept. Tragically, this decision led to his death at the age of 44. Nimrat shared that by the time she received the news of her father's kidnapping, his body had already been brought to Delhi. More About Nimrat
Nimrat Kaur has appeared in several music videos, including Tera Mera Pyaar and Yeh Kya Hua in 2004. She gained widespread recognition as the Cadbury girl after featuring in a Dairy Milk Silk advertisement in mid-2013. Her Hindi film debut came with Vasan Bala's Peddlers in 2012, which was produced by Anurag Kashyap . Her breakthrough role came in the film The Lunchbox , where she starred alongside the late Irrfan Khan . The film was both a critical and commercial success, solidifying Nimrat Kaur's status as a star.
Currently, Nimrat Kaur works in both web series and films, earning appreciation for the grace and authenticity she brings to her roles. She is best known for her collaboration with Abhishek Bachchan in Dasvi and most recently starred alongside Akshay Kumar in Sky Force . 'We're not civilised, won't take it to a corner': Kajol spills the beans about resolving conflicts with Ajay Devgn
Bollywood icon Kajol recently opened up about the dynamics of working with husband-actor Ajay Devgn. In a candid interview, Kajol shared insights into their 'rules of engagement' and how they resolve disagreements on sets. (Also read: Nysa Devgan has the funniest take on Kajol's fierce look in new Maa song: 'When she comes home from work…') Kajol, who is busy promoting her upcoming film Maa, spilled the beans about her working relationship with Ajay in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India. "We do talk about the rules of engagement at work. 90% of the time, if he is going over the top, I just call him out on it, and he calls me out on it. We are not civilised and we will not take it to the corner," Kajol said. "But it does not happen very often, because first of all, we don't work that often together, we work once every five years. So when it does happen, it is pretty much out there and a 'free for all' kind of thing," Kajol said with a laugh. Kajol clarified that the couple, who have been married for over two decades, don't have shouting matches but have set boundaries that no one crosses. She added that she is much humbler on sets than otherwise. The Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jaenge actor confessed she is more polite on film sets because it makes the environment more professional and easier. Directed by Vishal Furia, Maa is a mythological horror film produced by Ajay Devgn, Jyoti Deshpande, and Kumar Mangat Pathak. Jio Studios is presenting it in collaboration with Devgn Films. The film tells the gripping story of a mother who confronts dark, otherworldly forces in a desperate attempt to save her daughter from a deadly curse rooted in a haunted village. Blending elements of mythology and horror, Maa explores the unbreakable strength of maternal love and the divine fury of Goddess Kali. The film has an ensemble cast that includes Ronit Roy, Indraneil Sengupta, Gopal Singh, Jitin Gulati, Kherin Sharma, Surjyasikha Das, Yaaneea Bharadwaj, and Roopkatha Chakraborty. It is set to release on 27 June in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Bengali.

Genelia D'Souza opens up about missing out on Salman Khan's Ready: ‘It was my film, I would've....'
Most Bollywood fans remember Ready, starring Salman Khan and Asin , as one of those fun, light-hearted entertainers that really struck a chord with audiences. But what many might not realize is that the film was actually a remake of the 2008 Telugu hit Ready, which originally starred Ram Pothineni and Genelia D'Souza. In a recent chat with Siddharth Kannan, Genelia was asked if she ever felt bad about not being part of the Hindi remake, especially since the original film was such a huge success for her. Her answer? Surprisingly chill. 'No, not at all. I would've loved to do it, of course, because it was my film down south and I really enjoyed it,' she said. 'But maybe, just maybe, there's another film waiting for me with Salman Khan — you never know. ' Fans loved her humble and optimistic response, and the clip quickly started making rounds on social media. The original Ready was a total laugh riot. Directed by Srinu Vaitla, it came out in 2008 and turned out to be a surprise blockbuster. Ram Pothineni played the lovable troublemaker Chandu, and Genelia lit up the screen as Pooja. The film had everything — comedy, drama, family madness, and of course, some unforgettable performances by legends like Brahmanandam and Sunil. It became one of the most-loved family entertainers of its time. When the movie was remade in Bollywood, it took on a big, colorful, masala vibe. Salman Khan and Asin took the lead this time, and director Anees Bazmee gave it his trademark touch — lots of laughs, action, romance, and songs that topped the charts. The 2011 release went on to become one of the biggest hits, even though it didn't release during a festive season. Even though Genelia didn't get to be part of the Hindi version, fans still remember her sparkling performance in the original. And who knows, maybe someday we'll finally get to see her share the screen with Salman Khan. Fingers crossed!

Aamir Khan tried to convince producer Aditya Chopra to make changes to Thugs of Hindostan for 8 months, didn't like the film: ‘But Adi was very confident'
When Aamir Khan appeared in YRF's big budget film Thugs of Hindostan with Amitabh Bachchan, Katrina Kaif and Fatima Sana Shaikh, it was promoted as the most anticipated film of the year. Releasing on the festival of Diwali in 2018, it got a massive opening of Rs 50.75 crore, which was the highest opening for a Hindi film until then, but soon after that, the film fell on its face and was rejected by the audience. So much so that Aamir had to take full responsibility for the film's failure in public. Now, Aamir has shared that he was not happy with the film and was well aware that it would get rejected by the audience and he even tried to convince the producer, Aditya Chopra, and director, Vijay Krishna Acharya, for eight months to make changes, but they didn't budge. Aamir, in a chat shared on Zee Music Company's YouTube channel, shared, 'What happened with Thugs was… I didn't like the film myself. Now, enough years have passed and I really respect Adi (Aditya) and Victor (Vijay) but sometimes, there are creative differences. When the film was made, Adi and Victor really liked it, the way it was made, but I didn't like it at all.' Aamir added that the film had gone wrong on paper itself and shared, 'I felt that structurally, we went wrong with the writing and I tried to tell them about it but they were confident that the film is good. I tried to convince them for around 8 months but ultimately, they are the director and producer so whatever they decision they took, I accepted it because I have to follow what they are saying.' When his then wife, Kiran Rao, questioned him about the same, he shared with her, he recalled telling her, 'I said I have no anxiety about this film because I know this won't work and I believe if I don't like it, why should I expect the audience to like it? So when Thugs didn't work, I didn't feel bad because I didn't like it too.' After the film's failure, Aamir, in a press conference said, 'I take the full responsibility of Thugs not working with the audience. You can be sure that we tried our level best but somewhere we went wrong. There are a few people who liked the film. I would like to thank them. We realise that most of the people did not like the film. I want to apologise to fans that I couldn't entertain them the way they wanted, though we did try our best.'
