Meet actress, whose father was killed by terrorists when she was 12, started her career as model, worked with Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan, Irrfan Khan; Her name is…

There is a Bollywood actress known for her strong performances in several notable films. Even at the age of 43, she has established her own place in the industry through her talent and hard work, without any familial connections in the film world. Bollywood's One Of The Finest Actress… Here we are talking about actress Nimrat Kaur , who began her career as a print model after graduating from Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi University. Born in March 1982, Nimrat is daughter of Major Bhupender Singh , an Indian Army officer. She spent her childhood in army cantonments in small towns. Unfortunately, tragedy struck when she was just 11 years old, as her father was abducted by the terror group Hizbul Mujahideen and killed. In an old interview with ETimes, Nimrat Kaur spoke about her father, Major Bhupendra Singh, who became a martyr at the age of 44. She shared that her father was an engineer and was stationed in Verinag. Nimrat described him as a young army major assigned to a border area known as Verinag (located on the route from Jammu to Srinagar, just after the Jawahar Tunnel). She explained that during his time in Kashmir, he could not have his family with him, so they stayed in Patiala. Nimrat revealed that her father was posted in Kashmir in January 1994, where he was attacked while at his office. She further recounted that he was kidnapped for a week before being fired from his job. The terrorists made unacceptable demands for his release, including the release of other terrorists, which her father, as a Major, refused to accept. Tragically, this decision led to his death at the age of 44. Nimrat shared that by the time she received the news of her father's kidnapping, his body had already been brought to Delhi. More About Nimrat Nimrat Kaur has appeared in several music videos, including Tera Mera Pyaar and Yeh Kya Hua in 2004. She gained widespread recognition as the Cadbury girl after featuring in a Dairy Milk Silk advertisement in mid-2013. Her Hindi film debut came with Vasan Bala's Peddlers in 2012, which was produced by Anurag Kashyap . Her breakthrough role came in the film The Lunchbox , where she starred alongside the late Irrfan Khan . The film was both a critical and commercial success, solidifying Nimrat Kaur's status as a star. Currently, Nimrat Kaur works in both web series and films, earning appreciation for the grace and authenticity she brings to her roles. She is best known for her collaboration with Abhishek Bachchan in Dasvi and most recently starred alongside Akshay Kumar in Sky Force . Looking ahead, Nimrat Kaur will next be seen in Section 84, opposite Amitabh Bachchan and Diana Penty .
