Mark Hillary, 45, and Ellie Liptrot, 21, are a couple making waves on TikTok with nearly 80,000 followers. Ellie, originally from Wales, and the father-of-two, have faced some criticism due to their 24-year age gap, but say they relish in the attention—especially from online trolls.
The couple, known by their username 'It's The Hillary's', started their relationship when Mark was 42 and Ellie was just 18, after years of friendship, reports the Manchester Evening News. The two are now expecting their first child together.

Mark explains, "The relationship grew naturally as we had known of each other for a while beforehand." He adds, "So people knew us as friends first before being together, so there wasn't a really shocking factor for our family and friends because they saw it happen naturally. Our friend groups have mixed for quite a while."

Their rise to social media fame was unintentional. What began as simple posts of trendy videos and vlogs soon exploded into a full-time career, allowing them to leave their regular jobs behind.
Ellie, who previously worked as a dental nurse, says, "We were just posting like everyone else, and it just blew up. We would always reply to comments with more videos, so it just kept going. It was by accident, really. What started as us posting about living our lives has turned into this."

Now, as full-time content creators, Ellie shares, "It grew so big that we were able to leave our jobs. We didn't really consider it a risk because at that point, we didn't have to worry about working because we already had that income."
Despite their online success, they've continued to deal with the occasional rude comment, but the couple insists they are unbothered. Mark says, "We're very thick-skinned. If we weren't, we would never have started this and put ourselves out there on social media.
"The rude comments don't really get to us. We have quite a laugh with it because it's usually people with #BeKind in their bio who have something hateful to write under our videos of us just being us."

Ellie added: "If anything, we like the attention. We find it funny." For the latest TV and showbiz gossip sign up to our newsletter

Speaking to the Liverpool Echo, Ellie expressed her surprise and excitement about the nomination. "It was a surprise to be nominated, but it's exciting at the same time," she shared. "We've never done anything like this before because it's all new to us."
Looking to the future, Ellie revealed plans for the family to start producing YouTube-style vlogs, aiming to release a new episode every week after their first child arrives.

'Matilda cake' launches in Tesco but chocolate fans hesitate over price

A 24-layer sweet treat inspired by Bruce Bogtrotter's cake in the classic children's book and film, Matilda, was launched in Tesco recently, but many fans cannot get past the price Chocolate fans are buzzing after spotting a delicious chocolate cake that resembles the iconic cake from book and film Matilda. We all remember when Bruce Bogtrotter was caught stealing a slice of scary head teacher Miss Trunchbull's chocolate cake - and, as punishment, was forced to chomp through an entire 18-inch cake. The sweet treat has become well-known and many people have tried to recreate their own versions at home. But if you are not a great baker, or simply don't have the time or equipment, brands and bakeries have also recreated their own versions of the famous cake. Leeds-based bakery Baked released a 24-inch layered cake named Bertha in London's Fortnum Mason earlier this year. ‌ And now, Tesco has brought out a 'Matilda cake' that you can pick up in stores nationwide. However, some people are concerned about how much it costs. ‌ Created by Lancashire's Studio Bakery, it is a 24-layer chocolate treat featuring 'scrumptious all-butter sponge made with dark chocolate, layered and covered in luscious chocolate ganache,' according to Tesco's website. It is also said be "fantastic" when served hot, if you warm it up in the microwave for 30-40 seconds. Studio Bakery said: "Our chocolate Matilda cake is a 24-layer love letter to chocolate in all its fudgy, gooey glory. Every slice is hand-cut, hand-finished, and properly decadent, making it perfect for parties, birthdays, or a solo moment of glory with a spoon and zero regrets." The product is said to served 10 people, but many chocolate lovers cannot get past its £16 price tag. It comes after @johns_snackreviews on Instagram shared a post and said: "NEW Matilda Cake by the Studio Bakery! Out now at Tesco for £16!" "16 quid for cake! No ta," commented one. "£16. Is it worth that price?" added another. One other said: "Omg need, but £16?" ‌ Meanwhile, after @newsfoodspotteruk shared a video of the cake online, one commented: "Bruce Bogtrotter is on his way to Tesco." One other insisted it looks "unreal". The product is available online or in Tesco stores. Tesco has been contacted for a comment. In other food news, for everyone who's ever been disappointed by soggy sweet potato fries, a food influencer known as Pinch of Mint has got you covered with a special trick to ensure they come out irresistibly crispy. Plus, Jaffa Cake fans have issued a complaint after spotting a difference in taste of the iconic McVities treats. Will you be rushing to pick up a box of the viral cake? Comment below.

Wynne Evans teary as he says 'I wanted to end my life' over Strictly scandal

Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. You can check out at any time. More info Opera singer Wynne Evans struggled to hold back tears as he opened up about the Strictly Come Dancing scandal that left him feeling suicidal during an emotional interview on This Morning. The 53-year-old Welsh singer has faced a turbulent few months after being dropped by the BBC following an apology saying that he used "inappropriate language" during the launch of the Strictly Come Dancing tour. On Wednesday, Wynne emotionally revealed that the "relentless" scandal had pushed him to his lowest point. Wynne said: "I've had clinical depression since 2016, I was diagnosed. I want to talk about it today because I want other people to find strength from that. It took me to the darkest point in my life." (Image: ITV) Choking back tears, he recalled the devastating moment he told his girlfriend, to whom he recently got engaged to: "I remember saying to my girlfriend: 'I have to kill myself, I have to...'" Wynne's voice cracked as he fought to compose himself. He credited his loved ones for their unwavering support during his darkest hour, saying: "I was on the crisis team for a month, and they just looked after me the whole time", reports Wales Online. "My friends, family, and girlfriend had a rota so they could be with me 24 hours a day, sitting up with me because it was just so relentless." Wynne also shared a heart-wrenching conversation with his daughter: "I said to my daughter: 'I'm sorry I brought shame on the family' because even though I didn't do what they said I did, I still brought all these headlines. "She just said: 'Look, dad, I know you, you're just this kind person, and I just want you to know that I can see the video, I've seen it for myself, I know exactly what you said.' They've been utterly brilliant and my girlfriend's been fantastic as well." (Image: BBC) This Morning host, Ben Shephard, also read a statement from the BBC which said: "We provided comprehensive duty of care for Wynne that included support by wellbeing professionals. "He was also provided with direct access to a designated contact at the BBC who was available to assist him at anytime. Plus he has been offered continued support since his contract with the BBC concluded." The interview comes as the Welsh opera singer, known for the insurance advertisements, announced last month that he will no longer be a BBC Radio Wales presenter. Wynne revealed in January that he would be taking some time out from both his radio show and the Strictly tour to prioritise his wellbeing. A spokesperson for the BBC recently said: "Wynne Evans is not under contract with the BBC. He is not returning to the mid-morning show on BBC Radio Wales, and there are currently no plans to work with him." (Image: ITV) Reflecting on his journey in an emotive post on Instagram last month, he penned: "My beloved Wynners, From the very depths of my heart – thank you. "These past few months, your love has been the light in my darkest days. Every message, every word of encouragement, every moment you stood by me has carried me through more than you could ever know." He added: "It breaks my heart to say the BBC has decided not to renew my contract, so I won't be returning to my radio show. I'm gutted. "That show wasn't just work – it was home. It was us. We laughed, we cried, we sang like nobody was listening. And somehow, through the airwaves, we became a family." Wynne thanked his fans and said he would have an online programme called The Wynne Evans Show, which he called "terrifying". "This is our next adventure. And I need you more than ever," he added. (Image: Instagram) "We will have great music, my question of the day, the mystery voice, your soundtrack stories and so much more, because we have each other again. We have a new home. I'm bringing more presenters soon, and I am sure you'll recognise a few of the faces." He admitted that he was "full of nerves. Full of hope. Full of love. Because when we show up for each other — like we always have — anything is possible." Earlier this year, he apologised for language that he called "inappropriate and unacceptable" after The Mail on Sunday reported that Wynne was heard making a remark in a video filmed during the Strictly launch event. It is understood he was given a warning over the remark by tour producers. In January, he announced: "I've agreed with the BBC that I'll take some time out from my radio show and the Strictly Live tour, as well as my other public commitments, to prioritise my wellbeing. "I am deeply sorry for the pain my inappropriate actions have caused, and plan to take this time for self-reflection. "Apologies to those I won't get to see at the remaining performances, and I'm grateful to my fellow tour gang for all the amazing support they have given me." *If you have been affected by this story, you can call the Samaritans for free on 116 123 or visit

"Because in today's world you're expected to be able to juggle it all right? "And the daily stresses of being a working mum, and spinning a million plates is blumming stressful….." She then added: "But what I didn't realise is that the reason I was feeling all of this is because I had an underlying health issue…. Chronic Anaemia." Lucy-Jo then revealed that this meant she was "in desperate need of a blood transfusion". Going into even more detail, she said: "It turned out that my haemoglobin levels were that dangerously low I needed 2 transfusions and I was kept in hospital for a few days so they could keep on eye on my levels." Hollyoaks star Lucy-Jo Hudson stunned as she lands new acting job Speaking about the medical team that treated her, Lucy praised the staff at Salford Royal Hospital and gushed over how "amazing" they were. Lucy-Jo then thanked everyone who donates blood, saying: "I know from the NHS that just one of your donations can save up to 3 lives.... Mine included." She went on: "Blood donations save lives every day, they are needed in emergencies, during operations, childbirth, in the treatment of cancer and sickle cell disease, the list is endless. What is Anaemia? According to the NHS, Anaemia is a common condition "where the number of red blood cells or the amount of haemoglobin in red blood cells is less than normal". Symptoms of Aneamia: Fatigue/tiredness Shortness of breath Dizziness Fast heartbeat or sensation of the heart beating in the chest (palpitations) Pounding or 'ringing' in your ears Headache Cold hands or feet Pale or yellow skin Chest pain Lack of concentration Sore tongue or mouth ulcers Irritability Source: NHS "So this is a thank you to those selflessly giving blood that helped me and thousands of other people who really needed it."
