Opera singer Wynne Evans struggled to hold back tears as he opened up about the Strictly Come Dancing scandal that left him feeling suicidal during an emotional interview on This Morning.
The 53-year-old Welsh singer has faced a turbulent few months after being dropped by the BBC following an apology saying that he used "inappropriate language" during the launch of the Strictly Come Dancing tour.
On Wednesday, Wynne emotionally revealed that the "relentless" scandal had pushed him to his lowest point.
Wynne said: "I've had clinical depression since 2016, I was diagnosed. I want to talk about it today because I want other people to find strength from that. It took me to the darkest point in my life."

Choking back tears, he recalled the devastating moment he told his girlfriend, to whom he recently got engaged to: "I remember saying to my girlfriend: 'I have to kill myself, I have to...'" Wynne's voice cracked as he fought to compose himself.
He credited his loved ones for their unwavering support during his darkest hour, saying: "I was on the crisis team for a month, and they just looked after me the whole time", reports Wales Online.
"My friends, family, and girlfriend had a rota so they could be with me 24 hours a day, sitting up with me because it was just so relentless."
Wynne also shared a heart-wrenching conversation with his daughter: "I said to my daughter: 'I'm sorry I brought shame on the family' because even though I didn't do what they said I did, I still brought all these headlines.
"She just said: 'Look, dad, I know you, you're just this kind person, and I just want you to know that I can see the video, I've seen it for myself, I know exactly what you said.' They've been utterly brilliant and my girlfriend's been fantastic as well."

This Morning host, Ben Shephard, also read a statement from the BBC which said: "We provided comprehensive duty of care for Wynne that included support by wellbeing professionals.
"He was also provided with direct access to a designated contact at the BBC who was available to assist him at anytime. Plus he has been offered continued support since his contract with the BBC concluded."
The interview comes as the Welsh opera singer, known for the Go.Compare insurance advertisements, announced last month that he will no longer be a BBC Radio Wales presenter.
Wynne revealed in January that he would be taking some time out from both his radio show and the Strictly tour to prioritise his wellbeing.
A spokesperson for the BBC recently said: "Wynne Evans is not under contract with the BBC. He is not returning to the mid-morning show on BBC Radio Wales, and there are currently no plans to work with him."

Reflecting on his journey in an emotive post on Instagram last month, he penned: "My beloved Wynners, From the very depths of my heart – thank you.
"These past few months, your love has been the light in my darkest days. Every message, every word of encouragement, every moment you stood by me has carried me through more than you could ever know."
He added: "It breaks my heart to say the BBC has decided not to renew my contract, so I won't be returning to my radio show. I'm gutted.
"That show wasn't just work – it was home. It was us. We laughed, we cried, we sang like nobody was listening. And somehow, through the airwaves, we became a family."
Wynne thanked his fans and said he would have an online programme called The Wynne Evans Show, which he called "terrifying".
"This is our next adventure. And I need you more than ever," he added.

"We will have great music, my question of the day, the mystery voice, your soundtrack stories and so much more, because we have each other again. We have a new home. I'm bringing more presenters soon, and I am sure you'll recognise a few of the faces."
He admitted that he was "full of nerves. Full of hope. Full of love. Because when we show up for each other — like we always have — anything is possible."
Earlier this year, he apologised for language that he called "inappropriate and unacceptable" after The Mail on Sunday reported that Wynne was heard making a remark in a video filmed during the Strictly launch event. It is understood he was given a warning over the remark by tour producers.
In January, he announced: "I've agreed with the BBC that I'll take some time out from my radio show and the Strictly Live tour, as well as my other public commitments, to prioritise my wellbeing.
"I am deeply sorry for the pain my inappropriate actions have caused, and plan to take this time for self-reflection.
"Apologies to those I won't get to see at the remaining performances, and I'm grateful to my fellow tour gang for all the amazing support they have given me."

Charles joined by David Beckham and Meryl Streep to celebrate award winners

The King has been joined by a host of stars to celebrate the achievements of young talent and senior figures recognised by his foundation. Charles met David Beckham, Stanley Tucci and Penny Lancaster, all King's Foundation ambassadors, alongside friends of the charitable body, Hollywood stars Kate Winslet and Meryl Streep, at the St James's Palace awards ceremony. Prizes including Young Entrepreneur and Advocate of the Year were presented by the celebrities including the King Charles III Harmony Award, recognising a long-term commitment to the foundation's mission of creating a world where people, places and the planet can live in harmony. Charles met his foundation's famous supporters and award winners before touring stands showcasing the charity's work, and Winslet smiled as she told him: 'Don't worry, I'll be all in – I've got your back.' Celebrity chef Raymond Blanc hailed the King for his campaigning over the decades on issues like communities, sustainability and traditional crafts that underpin the foundation, which is celebrating its 35th anniversary. His ITV series Raymond Blanc's Royal Kitchen Gardens took him to palaces like Hampton Court and Hillsborough, as well as Highgrove House and the Castle of Mey – places Charles calls home. Blanc, a foundation ambassador, said after meeting Charles: 'I think what the King has done is extraordinary. He's done it for many, many years – from the 1970s, about the same time I arrived in England – and my values are his values. 'There's a deep belief in connecting human beings with communities, with agriculture, with sustainability, management of waste, management of energy, and he has done it for the last 45, 50 years.' Speaking about filming at the King's Scottish retreat, the Castle of Mey, which once belonged to his grandmother the Queen Mother, Blanc added: 'I really believe he got all his values seeing his grandma in this beautiful space. 'So natural, close to the sea, at the tip of Scotland where there was such a reservoir of natural things.' Blanc's words were echoed by Penny Lancaster who praised the monarch for creating the awards and highlighting the needs of the planet throughout his adult life. She added: 'The King may have been accused of hugging trees and people thinking he was mad when he started talking about the environment all that time ago, but he was at the forefront then and now has been proved right with everything he said and now we're all just trying to play catch up. 'I really recognise the beauty in the way he is trying to get us on board with his knowledge and if we can pass that on to the younger generation, and save some of the traditional skills like we've seen with these winners today, we can all be a part of making a difference.' The King's Foundation, previously known as The Prince's Foundation following an amalgamation of Charles' charities which stretch back to 1990, aims to 'advocate for the change His Majesty wants to see in the world'. The Emerging Talent prize was presented by Beckham, the former England football captain rumoured to be knighted soon, to Emily Hurst who has shown exceptional talent and commitment while on a King's Foundation programme. She recently completed the Chanel and King's Foundation Metiers d'Art Fellowship in Millinery, based at Highgrove Gardens after she had become fascinated with the heritage craft of straw braiding and began learning to produce hats from the material. She said: 'Working at Highgrove was absolutely the best place to be, surrounded by so much inspiration from His Majesty's garden and learning from some of the best milliners with country, I'm so incredibly honoured.'

The Sun told early this week how blonde air hostess Helena Ford, 29, and semi-pro footballer Harry Cooksley, 30, snuck off and the scenes will play out on screen tonight. But things don't go quite according to plan and most of the other islander spot them sneaking away - including a bemused Shakira Khan, who was sharing a bed with him. A source previously told The Sun: 'This is the fastest sleepover in the Hideaway in Love Island's twelve series history - and what a gorgeous pair to do so. 'In the past, producers had to invite Islanders to use the breakout bedroom which meant the love nest was generally not used until couples became more established. 'But producers have changed the rules of the breakout bedroom so it can be used at any time, without an invite. 'It means Helena and Harry could take advantage of the 'no invite needed' and explore their connection. 'The scenes will play out later this week, but bosses are unlikely to show anything too naughty, as is the show's usual approach.' Earlier in the episode - Harry discovers that Shakira and Blu had shared a kiss in the hideaway. Dejon says: 'You know he (Blu) kissed her (Shakira)?' Harry replies: 'No he didn't…I don't believe what I'm hearing.' Harry then asks Shakira about the kiss with Blu before telling her: 'All that matters is I want to pursue things with you.' Harry later hears Blu's side of the story, with Blu telling him: 'We had two kisses, where's your head at? It seems to me your with Helena more and flirting?' Harry says: 'I think it's more flirty, but I think Shakira's got more substance.' 6 Harry and Shakira ran off as everyone look on in horror Credit: ITV 6 Harry is paired up with Shakira Credit: Eroteme

Dua Lipa finally confirms engagement to Callum Turner

It's been half a year since Dua Lipa, 29, sparked engagement speculation after flashing a chunky ring over Christmas— and it's finally official. The Levitating hitmaker revealed that she is engaged to her boyfriend Callum Turner after he proposed with a very special ring. An Instagram photo dump first sparked rumours as a sparkling diamond could be seen on that finger, but Dua stayed silent. Months after teasing fans, she confirmed in an interview with British Vogue that she and Callum, 35, are set to tie the knot. 'Yeah, we're engaged,' last year's Glastonbury headliner cooly shared. 'It's very exciting. This decision to grow old together, to see a life and just, I don't know, be best friends forever – it's a really special feeling.' Dua revealed that Callum popped the question with a custom-made ring, which he had consulted with her sister Rina over. 'I'm obsessed with it,' she continued. 'It's so me. It's nice to know the person that you're going to spend the rest of your life with knows you very well.' The happy couple began dating in January 2024 and made their relationship Instagram official in July. Dua was first spotted out with the Fantastic Beasts actor in March, with the pair grabbing a spot of dinner on date night in London. The Houdini icon had seen him before they began dating, having bumped into each other at The River Cafe and been introduced by the co-founder and Table 4 podcast host Ruth Rogers. At this point, Callum was simply 'that really hot guy' from the cafe, but a year later, their paths crossed once more, and she took the plunge. Book fanatic Dua bonded with the actor over the fact they were both reading the same novel — a real compatibility test. Despite this meet-cute, the duo are not rushing down the aisle as between Callum's film shoots and Dua's tour there is little time to plan. 'We're just enjoying this period,' she explained. 'I've never been someone who's really thought about a wedding, or dreamt about what kind of bride I would be. All of a sudden I'm like: 'Oh, what would I wear?'' We're sure whatever Dua chooses to wear will be a show-stopper. When the rumours of their engagement began last year, a source told The Sun: 'They are engaged and couldn't be happier. 'Dua has had one of the best years of her career professionally, and this is the cherry on the cake. Callum is such a solid support for Dua, and they make a wonderful couple.' Last year was certainly a big one for the Future Nostalgia icon as she headlined Glastonbury alongside Coldplay and Sza. Her set was praised by festival goers, filled with big hits, dance numbers, and a guest appearance from Tame Impala. However, it wasn't just on stage she was making an impact as Dua went viral for an interaction with a man who sang to her backstage. More Trending Dua was enjoying some downtime wandering around the 15000-acre site when a fan armed with a ukulele stopped her. The Camden busker introduced himself, and said: 'I want to play you 30 seconds of my song and if you like it, I just want your reaction.' Glancing at the camera, Dua agreed with the busker launching into exactly 30 seconds of his ukulele song before she cut him off and said, 'Well done mate. So good, so good.' As she attempted to escape, the guy asked for a hug — which Dua politely obliged before high-tailing it out of there and making a beeline for Callum. Got a story?
