Jets safety makes bold prediction about former Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields
Once in Pittsburgh, we saw flashes of Field being an elite athlete who could turn the corner and be the type of quarterback many thought he could become. He played well with when starter Russell Wilson was out because of injury, but once the he healed up, Fields was again relegated to backup duty.
Until, that is, he was given another life in New York through a free agency deal. Jets fans are pretty excited about what he could become, and he has again shown his athletic brilliance in OTAs, and he's made a believer out of Jets' safety Andre Cisco, who signed a one-year deal with the Jets after spending four years with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Cisco is expecting a big year from the former Heisman finalist based on comments he made in an interview on Sirius XM NFL Radio.
'Me and Justin, we were in the same class in high school,' Cisco said. 'Same class in college, same class coming up to the NFL so these are the people that, whether you play with them or not, you feel like you know them from not too far away. Getting to know him up close as a teammate has been really, really special.
'I'm really glad that I get this opportunity to get behind him and just support him as he takes on that role," Cisco continued. "We already know what quarterback means in the NFL. I'm excited for him to prove those who are doubting him wrong and those who are supporting right, because I think he's gonna have a huge year.'
We can't wait to see Justin perform this year with the hopes that he shows everyone what he can really be. With Garrett Wilson as a sidekick and the chemistry there, maybe we'll see him reach his full potential in the Big Apple.

Ohio State football loses staffer to SEC school
Just a year after joining Ohio State, Assistant Athletic Director of Player Personnel, Sam Petitto, is leaving Ohio State for a similar job at LSU, according to a report from Rivals' Shea Dixon. Pettito came to Ohio State as a key recruiting support staffer last season after working for eight years under Nick Saban at Alabama. Not only did he win a College Football Playoff national championship ring for the memorable title run last year for the Buckeyes, but he also won some hardware in 2017 and 2020 in Tuscaloosa. Advertisement A Louisiana native, it's a chance to return home to work for head coach Brian Kelly. He had previous stops at Georgia, North Carolina, Grambling State, and Southeastern Louisiana. For General Manager of Player Personnel Mark Pantoni, it is, unfortunately, a similar situation. He has had to replace the same post four straight years and must now try to keep the recruiting machine running by hiring another qualified candidate. As any news on that front becomes available, we'll be on top of it. This article originally appeared on Buckeyes Wire: Ohio State football staffer leaving school for job at SEC school

Ohio State misses out on another 4-star edge rusher target
Ohio State has struck out on another key edge-rushing target with the news that 4-star 2026 defensive end KJ Ford has verbally committed to the Florida Gators over the Buckeyes. It's unfortunately news that continues the trend of Ohio State not being able to land several of its priority edge rushers in the 2026 class, and a bit of a continuation over the last couple of years. Out of Duncanville, Texas, Ford is ranked as the No. 15 edge rusher and 116th overall prospect in the 2026 class according to the 247Sports composite rankings. Ford chose the Gators over OSU and Texas A&M. So far in the 2026 recruiting cycle, Larry Johnson and Ohio State have missed out on other priority defensive end targets Luke Wafle (USC), Carter Meadows (Michigan) and Landon Barnes (Ole Miss). They do have one high-profile edge rusher with the commitment of Khary Wilder, but the number of targets available that Ohio State would love to land on the edge is dwindling fast. The Ohio State football 2026 recruiting class still sits with 21 commitments in the class, one that is currently inside the top ten. As any more significant news on the recruiting side of things becomes available, we'll bring it to you. Odds posted for Michigan State football to win 9 games this season
Every Big Ten team's odds to win 9 games in 2025, via FanDuel | As of 7/11/25 What are the chances Michigan State football will win nine games this upcoming season? We now know the official odds of that occurring per FanDuel. Odds have been posted for every Big Ten team to win nine or more games next season, and its interesting to see where the Spartans landed among their peers. According to FanDuel, Michigan State has +650 odds to win nine or more games this upcoming season. That is positioned between Minnesota at +320 and Rutgers at +900 -- which are notable gaps on both ends. Among Big Ten teams, Michigan State has the No. 12 best odds to win at least nine games this season. That is about in line with where many are ranking and projecting the Spartans to be in the league this upcoming season. Michigan State is coming off a 5-7 season in year one under new head coach Jonathan Smith. The Spartans have fell shot of bowl eligibility in each of the last three seasons, and have won nine games only once in the last seven seasons. I'm pretty bullish on Michigan State this upcoming season and anticipate the Spartans getting back to a bowl game, but winning nine games is certainly on the higher end of the possible outcomes for me. I could see it happening if they are able to win most of their toss-up games and pull an upset or two, but these long odds of this actually hitting seems about right. Michigan State opens the 2025 season next month with its season opener against Western Michigan on August 29. Kickoff from Spartan Stadium is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET and the game will be televised on FS1.
