Miley Cyrus thinks it's 'really hard to maintain sobriety' while touring.
The 32-year-old pop star hasn't paired an album with live shows since her Bangerz Tour back in 2014, and Miley has now revealed that she has no intention of hitting the road anytime soon.
During an appearance on Good Morning America, Miley - who quit using marijuana in 2017 - explained: 'It's really hard to maintain sobriety when you're on the road, which is kind of a pillar of stability in my life. None of this that I create would even be possible without the way I think about things.'
Miley also thinks there's an insufficient 'infrastructure' for touring artists.
The pop star said: 'I do have the physical ability. I have the opportunities to tour, I wish I had the desire, but I don't. I also don't think that there's an infrastructure that supports artists.'
Miley acknowledged that touring has negatively impacted her mental health in the past. The Wrecking Ball hitmaker said: 'I do think it's really hard to keep mental wellness.'
In 2023, Miley admitted that touring 'isn't healthy' for her.
The singer has enjoyed huge success in her music career - but Miley believes that touring 'erases [her] humanity' and stifles her ability to write new songs.
The Flowers hitmaker explained in a TikTok video: 'Having every day the relationship between you and other humans being subject and observer isn't healthy for me because it erases my humanity and my connection. And without my humanity and my connection, I can't be a songwriter, which is my priority.'
Miley also reflected on the differences between herself and her dad, music star Billy Ray Cyrus.
The chart-topping singer admitted that she had financial and emotional stability during her younger years, whereas her dad was forced to struggle through the early years of his life. Miley explained: 'My dad grew up the opposite of me.

'I was talking to objects and Jamie Foxx. He was there in my room. Then we got up and we went snowmobiling. All that happened in my mind. It didn't happen. It's good drugs,' Renner joked.

The 46-year-old actress reprises her iconic role as Julie James in the latest installment of the horror franchise — but she says she was hesitant at first. 'All of my friends had to talk me into it,' she told Vulture. 'Literally up until the last night before shooting, they were like, 'You know you're going tomorrow, right?'' Hewitt first played the role in the original 1997 film, but returning decades later brought new concerns — mainly about aging in the public eye. She also revealed to The Hollywood Reporter that she initially questioned the purpose of bringing Julie back. 'I was hesitant at first. 'I wanted her part in the movie to matter and for the audience to feel like they were proud of who she has become.' Jennifer said she was happy with how her character evolved. 'She's exactly who I thought she would be and who I wanted her to be, honestly.' Interestingly, she didn't want Julie to appear fully healed from past traumas. 'As weird as it sounds, it was really important for me to not see a Julie James that had healed her trauma. She needed to stay in trauma... so this version of her feels right.' Despite playing the same character, Jennifer said it felt like stepping into a new role. 'What's beautiful about this movie is that she feels like the same person from the original movie, but she also feels like a new character in some ways because of all the time that's gone by.' To prepare, she rewatched the original — this time with her kids. 'It was my kids' first horror movie. They really wanted to watch it together... so it was really fun and exciting and interesting to go back and watch that girl on the road that night.'

The second season of supernatural comedy Wednesday is set to release on August 6. The first four episodes will be available on Netflix, with four more ready to be aired on September 3. The show follows Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega), a teenager whose parents transfer her to Nevermore Academy, a private school for 'monstrous outcasts'. This was after she was expelled from her previous school for dumping live piranha fish into the pool – an act of revenge when the boys' water polo team bullied her brother. In season two, fans will see the character returning to Nevermore. While developing her psychic skills, which she inherited from her mother, she finds herself facing a new tormentor and preventing her werewolf roommate Enid Sinclair's (Emma Myers) death. 'Wednesday goes into this season thinking she knows Nevermore. It's the first time she has returned to the school willingly but as soon as she gets back, nothing happens as she's expecting,' show creator Miles Millar said in an interview. 'She thinks she's going to be in control, that she knows where all the bodies are buried, and she doesn't,' he added. The new season will feature artist and actor Lady Gaga, whose song Bloody Mary (2011) gained popularity and was associated with the show after fans used a sped-up version to soundtrack TikTok edits of Wednesday's dance scene in season one. While not much has been revealed about her role, she is expected to portray teacher Rosaline Rotwood who crosses paths with Wednesday.
