Time to 'cash in' on Kuhn - or 'crazy to sell' him?

Time to 'cash in' on Kuhn - or 'crazy to sell' him?

BBC News5 hours ago

We asked for your views on how Celtic should address Nicolas Kuhn's future amid reports linking the winger with a big-money move away from Parkhead. Here's what some of you said:Mikey: I wouldn't be selling Kuhn for £15m. If the player wants to move on, let him go if he isn't happy at Celtic. But the fee needs to beat the last club record, £25m-plus. If we want to progress into the Champions League again, we need to be retaining our best players to get past the play-off.Anon: We've had half a season from him over one-and-a-half seasons. He can be fairly predictable and quiet in bigger games, and it seems he doesn't want to be here. With a replacement lined up, cash in.Robert: Recently it feels like his head is elsewhere. He can be such a good player, but to my mind he doesn't look very happy, maybe it's time for him to move on.Tony: Would be happy to cash in on Kuhn. He's been too inconsistent and the money being talked about is above what he's worth, compared to the consistent output of someone like Matt O'Riley. Great first half of the season, disappeared after January rumours of a move and saw some flashes towards the end of the season, but the cup final performance epitomised the frustration with him.Steven: He had a strong first half of the season and one man-of-the-match performance against Leipzig. The second half of the season he struggled to maintain his form. I would cash in, as around £10m profit on Kuhn will be a wise move and can be reinvested elsewhere. The next Daizen Maeda perhaps?Peter: Alongside Reo Hatate he is our only creative player, plus he scores as many as our forwards. Would be a huge step backwards to sell him. Lots of others we could do without, but not Kuhn.Matt: Celtic would be crazy to part ways with Kuhn. He's an electric player who has been a true workhorse. His best days are ahead of him.

David Coote charged by FA over foul-mouthed Jürgen Klopp comments

Former Premier League referee David Coote has been charged by the Football Association in regards to comments he made about Jürgen Klopp. Coote was suspended from his role by Professional Game Match Officials Ltd (PGMOL) in November after a video leaked online showing him making foul-mouthed comments about Klopp. The 42-year-old was sacked the following month after a second video, published by the Sun, allegedly showed him sniffing what appeared to be white powder. 'David Coote has been charged with a breach of FA Rule E3 in relation to comments that he made about Jürgen Klopp in a video recorded around July 2020 which appeared on social media in November 2024. It's alleged that the referee acted in an improper manner and/or used abusive and/or insulting words contrary to FA Rule E3.1,' read a FA statement. 'It's further alleged that this constitutes an 'Aggravated Breach', which is defined in FA Rule E3.2, as it included a reference – whether express or implied – to nationality. Coote has, however, been cleared of any gambling misconduct following claims he discussed issuing a yellow card to a player before the match in question. Coote denied the allegations, describing them as 'false and defamatory'. Coote was banned by Uefa in February from officiating in European competition until 30 June 2026. The previous month he said struggles with his sexuality contributed to the 'really poor choices' that cost him his job.
