Score! Razer just slashed the Blade 18 gaming laptop by $700 in epic sale
Currently, Razer is offering the new Razer Blade 18 for up to $700 off. The biggest price cut is for the model with an RTX 5090, though that machine still costs $4,199 after the discount. If that's too much, you can opt for a configuration with an RTX 5070 Ti GPU for $ 2,499, which is $500 off. Razer has also discounted the Razer Blade 18 with RTX 5080 by $600.
The Razer Blade 18 (2025) is the ultimate desktop replacement. This configuration pulls out the stops, thanks to its Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX CPU, Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 GPU, 32GB of RAM and 2TB of SSD storage. Its 18-inch display also has dual mode, which allows you to play at 4K/240Hz or 1080p/440Hz.
Regardless of which Razer Blade 18 you opt for, you're going to have a great time playing some of the best PC games. Let's detail what you're getting from this monstrous 18-inch gaming laptop.
As its name suggests, the Razer Blade 18 is an 18-inch gaming laptop. While its size can undermine its portability, the large display, numerous ports and huge keyboard deck help balance things out. Even if you don't want to take it on the road, you're getting a laptop that can legitimately serve as a desktop replacement.
The 18-inch display is impressive on its own, but it takes things further by offering two display modes, or dual-mode. You can play games at 4K resolution and 240Hz or 1080p at 440Hz. The former is best for cinematic games like Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, while the latter is suited for fast-paced competitive games like CS: GO 2. This is the first 18-inch gaming laptop to offer dual-mode, so that's definitely a selling point.
Thanks to Nvidia's RTX 50-series GPUs, these laptops can deliver stellar graphics at blisteringly fast frame rates. The Razer Blade 18 with an RTX 5070 Ti might not be as powerful as models with RTX 5080 and RTX 5090, but if you enable the frame-boosting DLSS 4 in games that support the feature, you can still enjoy sharp graphics and smooth frame rates.
Razer Blade laptops rank among the best gaming laptops, so you'll do well with any of the configurations mentioned above. I guarantee you'll have a great time playing the best PC games on whichever discounted machine you get. For more deals, check out our guide to the best back to school laptop sales.

Hundreds of thousands of Grok chatbot conversations are showing up in Google Search — here's what happened
If you've ever chatted with Grok, the Elon Musk-backed AI assistant from xAI, and hit the 'Share' button, your conversation might be searchable on Google. According to a recent Forbes report, more than 300,000 Grok conversations have been indexed by search engines, exposing user chats that were likely intended to be shared privately, not broadcast online. This comes just weeks after ChatGPT users discovered their shared chats were searchable on Google too. This discovery once again raises serious concerns about how AI platforms handle content sharing and user privacy. Built by Elon Musk's xAI, Grok includes a feature that lets users share conversations through a unique link. Once users share, those chats are no longer private, and are getting picked up by Google's web crawlers. From there, the chat are turning up in search results, meaning anyone can access and read them. In both the ChatGPT cases and this one, the issue comes down to how "shareable" URLs are structured and whether AI companies are doing enough to protect users who may not realize their content is publicly viewable. The implications go beyond just a few embarrassing screenshots. Some Grok chats could contain sensitive, personal or even private details. Many users likely had no idea their shared conversations were being published for the world to see until now. This privacy breach highlights a growing challenge in AI product design: how to balance transparency and social sharing with greater privacy protections. When users hit 'Share,' they should be clearly informed that their link will be publicly accessible, and AI companies need to use best practices like noindex tags or restricted access URLs to avoid surprises like this. To prevent these kinds of privacy slip-ups, AI platforms should: Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips. This isn't the first controversy Grok has faced. the chatbot has come under fire in recent months for questionable responses and controversial content. But this latest issue hits at a core trust concern: how user data is managed and whether privacy is truly being prioritized. As more people turn to AI tools for personal, educational, wellness and emotional support, platforms like xAI will need to step up their safeguards or risk eroding the very trust they're trying to build. Although the damage is already done and deleting the chats won't make them completely disappear from searches, users can still take action. Start by safeguarding your chats by not sharing them until Grok has more secure privacy settings. Screenshots are another option if you must share your chats with others. As more people turn to AI tools for personal, educational, wellness and emotional support, platforms like xAI will need to step up their safeguards or risk eroding the very trust they're trying to Tom's Guide on Google News to get our up-to-date news, how-tos, and reviews in your feeds. The Rogue Prince of Persia is officially out for PC and consoles
Ubisoft and Evil Empire's long-awaited The Rogue Prince of Persia is finally out and available for purchase. It's been in early access on Steam for over a year and the developers have made plenty of changes during that time to get the game ready for a general launch. It's available for PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, Xbox Series X/S and PS5. It's also playable in the cloud by using the Xbox Cloud service, Ubisoft+ and Amazon Luna. Nintendo fans will have to wait a bit longer. The game's coming to the Switch and Switch 2, but not until later this year. For the uninitiated, The Rogue Prince of Persia is a sidescrolling roguelike with plenty of fast-paced action and a graceful move set inspired by other games in the franchise. Co-developer Evil Empire is the company behind the iconic Dead Cells , which is also a sidescrolling roguelike. Since launching in early access, developers have added more biomes and a new story, in addition to refining the gameplay and character designs. If you've been hankering for a new roguelike with some light Metroidvania elements (just like Dead Cells ), this could be the game you've been waiting for. It costs $30.

Generative AI Course With Certification For SWE's, PM's and Engineering Managers - Interview Kickstart's Roadmap To Becoming An AI ENGINEER in 2025 For US Tech Professionals
Santa Clara, Aug. 20, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- In a world where financial institutions grapple with increasingly complex compliance and risk detection requirements, generative AI is emerging as a game-changer. The launch of the UK Financial Conduct Authority's "supercharged sandbox" in partnership with Nvidia has opened the floodgates for banks to pilot advanced AI for fraud detection and market manipulation in a controlled environment. For more information, visit: Meanwhile, AI-powered tools from major banks and fintech firms are slashing manual review times from contract analysis to transaction monitoring by hundreds of thousands of hours annually. Generative AI models, backed by Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) frameworks and LangChain components, are enabling precise, context-aware responses while keeping data secure behind enterprise firewalls. Interview Kickstart, a leading upskilling platform trusted by thousands of tech professionals, offers an Applied Generative AI course designed to prepare engineers for high-impact roles at FAANG and top-tier companies. Tailored tracks for software engineers stand out, covering a structured Python crash course, deep dives into LLMs, neural networks, and applied modules on image and audio GenAI. The program spans 12 weeks of hands-on training and culminates in software-focused capstone projects. By the end, learners are able to build intelligent meeting summarizers, virtual coding assistants, and AI customer service agents—skills that mirror the real-world needs of financial institutions and tech giants alike. In financial services, AI-driven risk detection and compliance systems are rapidly becoming the backbone of operational efficiency. JPMorgan Chase's COiN platform leverages NLP to process thousands of contracts per second, saving over 360,000 manual review hours annually. Similarly, Mastercard's real-time fraud detection system evaluates 160 billion transactions each year, improving detection rates by up to 300% while minimizing false declines. These cutting-edge deployments rely heavily on RAG systems that couple textual embeddings with deep language models. To stay legally compliant, they embed secure pipelines that shield sensitive data, often combining vector embeddings, fine-grained permissions, and local indexing to ensure confidentiality. Interview Kickstart's Applied Generative AI course equips learners with exactly these in-demand skills. Modules centered on prompt engineering, model fine-tuning, and secure deployment directly map to real-world compliance workflows. LangChain integration is a core highlight: students learn to build secure RAG agents over private databases, employ document loaders, manage vector stores, and create RAG chains with retrieval and generation linked by authorization checks—a training path that mirrors enterprise-grade architectures. Speakers from the financial industry are often hired by FAANG companies, meaning the expertise students gain matches the expectations in top-tier interviews. Crucially, interview readiness is baked into the program. Mock technical interviews with FAANG engineers in both domain-specific and system design contexts ensure candidates are not just technically competent, but also interview-savvy. Personalized coaching helps refine your resume, optimize your LinkedIn presence, and practice behavioral competencies. This means that by the time learners head into interviews, they can confidently discuss how to architect a RAG-based compliance tool that enforces access control, mitigates bias, and passes audit scrutiny, exactly the kinds of systems being piloted by regulators and banks today. Ethical and legal considerations are also woven into the curriculum. With regulators like the UK FCA and Germany's BaFin demanding transparency in AI usage, understanding biases, audit logging, and federated or on-premise deployment is essential. The program includes modules on ethical guardrails, evaluation metrics, and bias mitigation, ensuring learners can articulate how to deploy AI responsibly in sensitive environments. Beyond technical depth, Interview Kickstart's Applied Generative AI course offers tailored tracks for different roles, including software engineers, product managers, engineering managers, and technical program managers. While engineers learn to code and construct models, product roles explore prompt design and value communication; managers focus on technical feasibility, ROI assessments, and integration planning. This multi-role alignment reflects real-world teams deploying GenAI responsibly, making every graduate well-prepared for interdisciplinary collaboration in enterprise settings. The capstone projects reflect this alignment with industry trends. For software engineers, a project like an intelligent meeting summarizer or virtual assistant parallels what financial firms build to comply with audit logging and real-time compliance monitoring. Deploying these applications through AWS, integrating with finance databases, or applying LangChain permissions replicates those mega-scale systems. In a AI-driven compliance wave, Interview Kickstart's Applied Generative AI course doesn't just teach generative models, it trains you to build enterprise-ready, safe, and compliant AI systems. Combining the best of RAG, secure agentic pipelines, prompt-driven LLMs, and real-world deployment, this course lays the foundation for tech professionals to confidently interview and land roles at FAANG and beyond.
