TOWIE star joins rival reality TV show eight years after finding fame

Daily Mail16-05-2025

A former TOWIE star is preparing to make his reality TV comeback by joining rival TV show Geordie Shore eight years after leaving the spotlight.
Jack Rigden, 32, was a familiar face on TOWIE back in 2017, but he was dropped from the show that year after failing to strike up an on-screen romance.
However, now the boyfriend of Geordie Shore beauty, Abbie Holborn, 27, reality TV producers have found a new interest in his life.
Now he's been invited to make a comeback on Geordie Shore, which will see him fly out to Lisbon, Portugal to film for a few days.
A source told The Sun: 'MTV bosses were over the moon when Jack agreed to fly out to Lisbon.
'He will be filming for a few days alongside the cast for series 26 in Portugal.'
The source explained that as Jack's romance is getting serious with Abbie, producers thought it would be a perfect addition to the show.
They also admitted that Abbie is 'desperate' to see her boyfriend as so many of the other cast members are joined by their partners.
The newcomer won't just have Abbie for company either and will be joined by his best friend Jordan Brook and Sophie Kasaei, who are already enjoying the Portuguese sunshine.
Jack is not the only former star making a comeback on the upcoming series of Geordie Shore and it will also see Gaz Beadle and Aaron Chalmers return to the spotlight.
Like Jack, Gaz has not been in the spotlight for eight years, despite being a Geordie Shore original.
Jack and Abbie are reported to have initially begun as friends before their connection turned romantic at the end of 2024.
Then, in February, they decided to make it official.
Sophie told The Sun that she was 'really happy' with her new boyfriend and admits that she is glad they started out as friends first.
Prior to finding love again, Abbie was seen locking lips with ex Scotty T in a first-look trailer of the most recent series that was shot in Thailand
Abbie previously admitted that she had been 'close to a nervous breakdown' over her love life in the past.
She said that things got so bad that at one point she thought she was going to be single forever.
Prior to finding love again, Abbie was seen locking lips with ex Scotty T in a first-look trailer of the most recent series that was shot in Thailand.
In a piece to the camera, Scotty can be seen wearing a black baseball cap backwards and a nude shirt which he left unbuttoned to flash his abs.
Showcasing his glowing tan, Scotty finished off his look with a pair of black shorts and told the camera: 'Turbo T is back baby. Did you miss me?'

Although they were the bookies' favourite to win, they finished in second place. Prior to their split announcement, Whitney had dropped a huge clue that she was no longer in a relationship with Lochan. In a rather shady TikTok video, she appeared to hint at cheating. Whitney was seen miming along to the Mariah the Scientist song All For Me and the lyrics, "What does she have on me?". As she continued looking confused, the words, "She doesn't wear wigs' popped up onscreen. Whitney captioned the post, "Oh yikes", which further added to concern from her fans. Weeks later, Lochan was caught on camera looking close to influencer Nguyen Yeats-Brown. Speaking on her podcast, Whitney recalled how Lochan said: "I've seen how much you've changed, and you're becoming like the woman that we always spoke about you becoming. "And I'm just not willing to do that." She added: "I was bamboozled. This is the person that you told me you wanted." 5 5 5

Italians Errani and Vavassori cruise to French Open mixed doubles title

PARIS, June 5 (Reuters) - Sara Errani and Andrea Vavassori of Italy swept to a 6-4 6-2 victory over Americans Taylor Townsend and Evan King on Court Philippe Chatrier to claim the French Open mixed doubles crown on Thursday. Errani and Vavassori claimed their second mixed doubles Grand Slam crown, with the first coming at the U.S. Open last year where they also defeated Townsend and her longtime former partner Donald Young. The Italian duo were tested early in the first set but saved two breakpoints to secure a tight hold at 1-1, before grabbing the decisive break and taking a 4-3 lead when Townsend sent a forehand wide. Errani and Vavassori dialled up the intensity to overwhelm their opponents, twice breaking serve in the second set before Townsend netted a volley to give the third seeds a dominant win. The American pairing looked disjointed throughout the match and racked up 25 unforced errors, almost three times as many as Errani and Vavassori's nine.

But followers were stunned when they spotted a lit candle on a tray next to Sam. One wrote: "Why is there a lit candle on the sofa with a child running around?" Another said: "That candle on the sofa is giving me anxiety." And a third added: "Im going to have nightmares tonight about that candle." Sam also shares son Paul, eight, and Rosie, six, with partner Paul Knightley. Earlier this year The Sun revealed Sam is set to reunite with sister Billie, 35, for a brand new series. Sam stepped away her former reality show The Mummy Diaries with Billie in 2021, after seven years on the screen. Billie then rebranded the long-running ITVBe series to The Family Diaries, but announced she was quitting the show last September to give her three children the chance to grow up away from the cameras. However the sisters are getting back together for a fresh format that will focus on their lives as entrepreneurs. Sam Faiers horrified at son Edward's 'damage' to home as she's heard yelling for sister Billie Faiers A source said: 'ITVBe viewers absolutely love Billie and Sam — there's a reason The Mummy Diaries ran for nine series, then Billie's Family Diaries for six, 'Of all the original Towie stars, they've kept a fiercely loyal fanbase for nearly 15 years and everyone was sad when Sam then Billie decided to call time on their fly-on-the-wall shows. 'The new series, which will air later this year, will look at motherhood from a different angle and be less about the kids and more about their careers and juggling their businesses."
