AP JAC seeks justice for outsourced staff in govt
The delegation, led by AP JAC chairman Bopparaju Venkateswarlu, general secretary Palisetti Damodara Rao, Contract-Outsourced Employees' Association state president K Suman, and general secretary E Madhu Babu, demanded reforms in the Andhra Pradesh Corporation for Outsourced Services (APCOS). Their key demands include rectifying loopholes in APCOS, implementing an HR policy for outsourced staff aligned with government societies like MEPMA and SERP, establishing specific service rules for outsourced employees to ensure long-term job security, and restoring welfare schemes, including family benefits, withdrawn by the previous government.
The leaders explained the adverse impact of the YSRCP government's policies, such as the scrapping of welfare schemes and a partial pay hike of 23 per cent instead of the recommended 30 per cent. They expressed dismay at the lack of basic service rules and welfare entitlements for outsourcing employees despite their full-time service in government departments.
The JAC also strongly opposed any revival of the old private agency system, citing past instances of salary theft, mismanagement, and exploitation, which in some cases led to legal action under the PD Act. Minister Narayana responded positively, assuring that there are no plans to dismantle APCOS. He confirmed that the cabinet sub-committee would seriously discuss the issues and reiterated the government's commitment to ensuring justice and job security for outsourced employees.
The minister also agreed to include employee unions in future policy consultations to incorporate their insights into state government decision-making.

Nellore: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has said that his ambition is transform Andhra Pradesh as 'Zero Poverty' State by 2029. He virtually participated in the distribution of house site pattas to the beneficiaries at Bhagath Singh Colony of 54th division of Nellore Municipal Corporation on Saturday. Speaking on the occasion, CM Naidu has said that as part of the initiative to eradicate poverty, the government has formally proposed to launch P-4 concept on August 19. He said the government has been spending Rs 34,000 crore only on social security pensions to all the pensioners across the State. Free bus travel for women will be implemented from August 15, he informed. Lauding Municipal Administration Minister P Narayana for his initiative of facilitating house site pattas to the poor in Bhagath Singh Colony, Chandrababu recalled that when Narayana brought the issue to his notice, he immediately approved it in the interest of poor. Chief Minister Naidu has virtually interacted with two beneficiaries - SK Sahibha and M Mastanamma and enquired whether they are getting welfare schemes properly. Later, Minister P Narayana and Nellore MP Vemireddy Prabhakara Reddy have distributed house site pattas to the beneficiaries. Minister Narayana said that at present pattas are being given to 633 beneficiaries against 1,430 and the remaining will be given in a phase wise manner. State Waqf Board Chairman Sheik Abdul Aziz, district Collector O Anand, Joint Collector K Karthik, NMC Commissioner YO Nandan and others were present.

Naidu vows ‘housing for all' by 2029; distributes 633 land titles in Nellore
Vijayawada: Chief minister on Saturday announced that the state government is working to ensure housing for all by 2029. He said the government is committed to providing two cents of land in urban areas and three cents in rural areas to the landless poor. Minister P Narayana, who is also the MLA for Nellore City, had promised during the election campaign that house sites in Bhagat Singh Colony would be regularised if voted to power. Naidu appreciated Narayana for resolving all legal and technical hurdles and ensuring the distribution of land titles to eligible beneficiaries. He said it gave him immense pleasure to distribute house sites to women on the occasion of the Rakhi festival. The chief minister also highlighted welfare schemes like pensions, free gas connections, and free RTC bus travel for women, which aim to improve the standard of living. Despite severe financial constraints, he reiterated the government's commitment to fulfilling all the "Super Six" promises. Residents Mastanamma and Syed Sabiha expressed their gratitude to Naidu for granting the long-awaited land titles.

VRMCHS turned centre for power politics: Parvathareddy
Nellore: YSRCP Nellore district working president and MLC Parvathareddy Chandrasekhar Reddy has alleged that MA&UD Minister P Narayana had vested interests in converting the name of the old educational institution – Venkatagiri Raja High School – as VR Municipal Corporation High School (VRMCHS). Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, the MLC pointed out that the conversion of name of the school was against the norms with the official machinery turning at the behest of the Minister. He recalled that court has appointed Joint Collector as Special Officer by confining his power to look after the salaries of employees and protection of institution. But the JC had transferred the Rs 1,000 crore worth properties of VR High School to Nellore Municipal Corporation against court guidelines, he criticised, adding that such move will lead to misuse of VRHS properties in the mask of power by the ruling party leaders. The MLC has pointed out that instead of providing seats to the real poor children in the VRMCHS, 90 per cent of the seats against the total 1,063 seats, were given to the people recommended by 264 TDP leaders and students pursuing studies in corporate schools like Sri Chaitnya (32), Ratnam (28) Narayana (28), and 418 students studying in various municipal schools in the city. He also pointed out that against the requirement of 80 teaching staff in VRMCHS, the government has deployed six teachers on deputation and five cluster in-charges and 26 Second Grade Teachers (SGTs). He alleged that instead of purchasing new buses for VRMCHS, buses were hired from Narayana Educational Institutions for Rs 1.2 lakh on monthly rental basis. The MLC questioned, why the coalition government has provided seats based on the recommendations of party leaders, if it is keen on promoting corporate education to the poor.
