After Aishwarya Rai, Wamiqa Gabbi highlights Karan Johar's support for Alia Bhatt in Bollywood; Reddit calls her 'gutsy'
Bollywood actor Alia Bhatt made her grand debut with Karan Johar's Student Of The Year and rose to fame with films like Highway, 2 States, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and more. She is now considered one of the most bankable stars in the industry. Previously, several Bollywood actors such as Aishwarya Rai, Sonakshi Sinha and others have spoken about the support Alia received from Karan Johar throughout her journey — and now, Wamiqa Gabbi has also expressed her desire to "steal" Karan from Alia. (Also Read: Wamiqa Gabbi admits pay disparity exists in Bollywood: 'Reasoning is that a male actor can pull more audience')
In an interview with Nayandeep Rakshit, when asked what she would like to steal from Alia, Wamiqa replied, "Karan Johar," and explained: "Because he has been her biggest supporter, and I think to have someone that powerful, talented and in that position — and to have that love that you share with that person, to have that person in your life — isn't that a beautiful thing?" She further added that she'd like to steal Ananya Panday's skin, Keerthy Suresh's humility, Varun Dhawan's energy, Shah Rukh Khan's legacy, and Kriti Sanon's height.
While some Reddit users were reminded of Aishwarya Rai's past remarks about Alia and Karan Johar, others thought Wamiqa was bold to say this. One user commented, 'Ash ki beti Wamiqa has more guts than nepo chaplus (She has more guts than nepo kids).' Another wrote, 'Aishwarya, Kangana, Kriti, and now Wamiqa! Alia keeps getting exposed!'
A third user said, 'Alia won't like this compliment. Aishwarya to Aishwarya lookalike — they're all saying the same thing.' Another added, 'It's absolutely true though. Alia would've been launched by the Bhatts if not for KJo. She wouldn't have her current career without his constant lobbying and support.' One more comment read, 'Finally, a celeb said it aloud about KJo and Alia — lol.'
Earlier, in an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan had also commented on Alia's privileged position. She said, 'I've said this to her also — it's fantastic for you, the kind of support Karan has given to her from the beginning. To have that kind of establishment with you is very comforting. It's not tough to have it laid out for you for the longest time.'
She added, 'It's great for you as an actor, as there is only good work and good opportunities ahead. What's nice is she's also doing good work along with great opportunities, which are virtually there on her lap, literally, regularly. So, it's nice she is doing good work within that. So kudos.'
Alia will next be seen in Alpha, a film from the YRF Spy Universe, which also stars Sharvari. Directed by Shiv Rawail, the film is slated for a theatrical release in December. She also has Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Love & War, alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal, in the pipeline. Wamiqa, on the other hand, will next be seen in the Netflix series Rakt Brahmand: The Bloody Kingdom.

Bad news for Salman Khan! Sikandar makers cite shocking reason for film's failure, file insurance claim worth Rs...
Salman Khan's recent release, Sikander, had created a buzz ahead of its release, but unlike his other films, it turned out to be a major box office disappointment. The film had a production budget of Rs 200 crore, it not only failed to recover its costs, but it left fans disappointed. However, according to several media reports, it has come to light that a big chunk of this loss was allegedly due to piracy — prompting the makers to take serious action. According to a recent Bollywood Hungama report, the production banner behind the film, Sajid Nadiadwala's Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. (NGEPL), has initiated a massive insurance claim worth Rs 91 crore. The claim is based on losses incurred due to the illegal leakage and piracy of Sikander soon after its theatrical release. The piracy impact The reports state that in order to determine the actual scope of the harm, NGEPL carried out a thorough internal examination. Ernst & Young (EY), a multinational consulting firm, was also brought in to perform a thorough examination and estimate losses. Here's what the audit revealed Reportedly, the audit revealed that as soon as the film was released, the pirated versions of the film were being circulated within hours, primarily through encrypted messaging apps and unauthorized streaming platforms. The leaked content was widely downloaded and viewed illegally, significantly affecting the film's box office performance, especially in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities, where such pirated content spreads rapidly. How was the loss estimated? The audit process reportedly involved advanced digital footprint tracking and piracy mapping tools. EY's team assessed pre-release trade projections, region-wise box office trends, and theatre occupancy rates. They also considered data from ticketing platforms, distributor statements, and illegal download counts to estimate how much potential revenue was lost due to piracy. After benchmarking the data against market norms and modelling alternate performance scenarios (had the piracy not occurred), the losses were pegged at approximately Rs 91 crore. This amount, the report states, reflects both theatrical and digital revenue losses. The insurance move What sets this case apart is the scale and seriousness with which the producers are pursuing compensation. Sikander was reportedly insured under a digital piracy insurance policy — a relatively newer risk-mitigation model that several top studios are beginning to adopt in India. NGEPL has now officially begun the process of filing the claim with its insurer. If accepted, it will mark one of the largest piracy-related insurance claims in Bollywood to date. Industry-wide implications According to several media reports, this move could also have broader implications for the Indian film industry, which loses hundreds of crores each year due to piracy. Yes, you read it right! For that, now producers are proactively using insurance as a tool to protect their investments, other production houses may follow suit in safeguarding their big-budget projects. While Sikander may not have delivered at the box office, its handling of post-release damage control could end up setting a precedent in the battle against digital piracy.

Madhavan as Shrirenu, a reserved Sanskrit teacher, and Fatima Shaikh as Madhu, a spirited French instructor, 'Aap Jaisa Koi' brings together two opposites in a story that's as much about family and belonging as it is about romance. Marking Madhavan's return to the genre he is loved for - romance- the film offers a fresh take on relationships -- blending humor, vulnerability, and warmth against a layered backdrop of family ties and personal rediscovery. The film is directed by Vivek Soni. The filmmaker says that 'Aap Jaisa Koi' is set to showcase a modern romance which highlights the need for real connections in today's world. "Aap Jaisa Koi is a film about breaking free from the walls we build around ourselves. It's about embracing the awkwardness and vulnerability of love. Working with Netflix again after Meenakshi Sundareshwar has been a fulfilling experience, and I'm excited to present a love story that's tender, messy, and intimate, one that embraces vulnerability without losing its charm and breeziness. It quietly questions the roles we fall into in relationships and reflects the quiet courage it takes to truly let someone in. With R.
