Manchester United XI vs ASEAN All-Stars: Predicted lineup, confirmed team news, injury latest for friendly today
Manchester United are expected to name a relatively strong line-up against ASEAN All-Stars this afternoon.
On the back of wrapping up a disappointing Premier League campaign with a 2-0 win over Aston Villa at the weekend, Man United have two post-season friendlies on their to-do list.
Today sees the Red Devils face ASEAN All-Stars in Kuala Lumpur before a game against the Hong Kong national side on Friday.
A 32-man squad flew out to Asia just hours after the win over Villa. Manager Ruben Amorim has included plenty of experience in the group, and the assumption is the vast majority of the first-team squad due will participate across the two fixtures.
Lisandro Martinez will not feature as he is a long-term injury casualty, but Noussair Mazraoui has been left out as he is being assessed after being forced off in the first-half against Villa.
Leny Yoro is another notable absentee with Man Utd stating the young Frenchman has been managing a small issue in recent weeks.
Victor Lindelof and Christian Eriksen - recently announced to be leaving upon the expiry of their contracts - are not in the squad due to personal reasons, but Jonny Evans is included as he prepares to bid farewell.
Matthijs de Ligt, Joshua Zirkzee and Diogo Dalot have travelled, as have Andre Onana, Alejandro Garnacho and Luke Shaw who were all absent from the matchday squad at the weekend.
Garnacho has been reportedly told to find a new club this summer by manager Amorim, so will likely make his final appearance for the club in the Far East.

Even Antony is being singled out for praise by his club captain at Real Betis, Isco. So, for the club to be entertaining flogging, the one man who has bucked that trend is baffling. Sure, a fee well over $100 million for a player whose peak years are ahead of him is excellent value, but the vacuum it would create at a time when pillars of leadership are required would do untold damage. Fernandes' winning the club's Player of the Year award four years in a row is both a credit to his performances and an indictment of the weaknesses surrounding him. You'd be hard-pressed to name any other contender for the award since the Portuguese star has been at the club. His manager is not keen on the idea either. Asked by journalists about the possibility of his captain departing, Ruben Amorim said: 'I think he wants to stay. He is saying 'no' to a lot of things, but it shows that he wants to win, and he is really good and needs to be in the best league in the world. 'Of course, I am the manager, the coach, but sometimes it is the decision of the player, but of course, I talk with him, I explain things, and I just have that feeling. Liam Delap names surprise defender as toughest opponent - 'Everyone says Van Dijk'
Ipswich striker Liam Delap named Nottingham Forest center-back Murillo as the toughest center-back he has faced in his career. The 22-year-old, who has been mentioned as a possible summer target for Liverpool, has come up against Murillo twice this season, failing to score or assist in either of Ipswich's games against Forest. Prosecutor says suspect in Liverpool soccer parade ramming used vehicle as a weapon
Updated [hour]:[minute] [AMPM] [timezone], [monthFull] [day], [year] LONDON (AP) — The ramming suspect in Liverpool deliberately used his vehicle as a weapon when he plowed his car into a crowd of soccer fans celebrating their team's Premier League championship, a prosecutor said Friday. Paul Doyle, wearing a black suit, white shirt and gray tie, looked emotional and hung his head during his initial court appearance in Liverpool Magistrates' Court. Doyle, 53, is charged with dangerous driving and six serious assault charges alleging that he caused or tried to cause grievous bodily harm to the two children and four adults who suffered the worst wounds among the 79 people injured, prosecutor Philip Astbury said. 'He used his vehicle deliberately as a weapon to injure those individuals,' Astbury said. Doyle, who spoke only to confirm his name, address and birth date, did not enter a plea. The charges carry a maximum sentence of life in prison if he is convicted. Doyle's case was transferred to Liverpool Crown Court, where a different judge scheduled an Aug. 14 hearing for him to enter pleas to the charges. His trial date was tentatively scheduled for Nov. 24 and was expected to last three to four weeks. Doyle's defense lawyer did not ask for bail and he was returned to jail. District Judge Paul Healey ordered that the victims' names not be published. The city had been celebrating Liverpool's record-tying 20th title when the Doyle allegedly turned down a street full of fans and joy quickly turned to tragedy. Police said they believed Doyle got past a road block by following an ambulance that was trying to reach a possible heart attack victim. Videos showed the car hit and toss a person wrapped in a red Liverpool flag into the air and then swerve into a sea of people packed on the side of the road. At least four people, including a child, had to be freed from beneath the vehicle when it came to a halt. The victims ranged in age from 9 to 78, police said. Seven people remained hospitalized Thursday. The suspect was believed to have acted alone and terrorism was not suspected, Merseyside Police said. They have not disclosed an alleged motive for the act.
