Taking to Instagram, she said she has received comments such as 'You should be with your family', 'Good mums don't leave their kids behind on a holiday', 'Mums shouldn't wear that, how embarrassing' and 'Poor Steve having the kids to himself while you relax in Bali'.
'People will tell you how to live, what's wrong with you and your life, and project their own 'rules' and beliefs onto you. If you live by their rule book, you'll never feel truly happy or free to just be YOU,' she wrote on Instagram, alongside a video of her dancing and posing in an orange tube dress.
She said the truth was that Steve, her husband, is a 'incredibly supportive and a very capable, hands-on father'.
'I refuse to live my life or neglect my own needs because of what others think. I won't put myself last or stop spending time with my friends, going on holiday, or pursuing my passions just because people label me as selfish or a bad mum,' she said.

Bines, who announced the shock closure of her activewear company last year, said that being a mum didn't mean that she couldn't relax, spend time with friends, have a career, travel, be sexual or seize opportunities.
'I want my kids to see me embracing all of these aspects of life so that they understand they are normal, important, and something they should do for themselves,' she said.
I want them to prioritise their mental health, their bodies, their energy, and their relationships with partners, friends, and anyone else who matters to them. I want them to explore life, the world, and themselves without guilt or shame. So YES, I will do all of the above and have so much fun while doing it!'
Bines being away from her children isn't the only aspect of her Bali trip that has caused controversy, with images shared to Outspoken Podcast Community Facebook group appearing to show the mum riding a scooter without a helmet, Daily Mail reported.
'Ashy Bines has had two brain aneurysm surgeries of late, speaks about how thankful she is to survive on a podcast released only yesterday. But … wears no helmet while riding on the back of a motorcycle twice in Bali in the space of 24 hours,' one said.
Another said: I just can't when people do this … it makes my blood boil. So ridiculously stupid!'
news.com.au has contacted Bines for comment.

In March 2024, Bines revealed she'd been diagnosed with a brain aneurysm after she was rushed to the hospital for temporarily losing her sight three times in the space of a week.
An aneurysm is the abnormal swelling or bulge in the wall of a blood vessel, according to Better Health Channel. When left untreated, aneurisms can burst and result in internal bleeding or a stroke. This can sometimes be fatal.
'[It's] pretty scary as [my husband] Steve has had a huge one removed and I also have this run in my family, already lost a young uncle and a nan to an aneurysm.'
After doctors performed the scan, she said they revealed it was unlikely the aneurysm will burst due to its size, but warned she needs to return for check-ups every three months.
'I really have to slow my life, workload and stress right down,' she explained, adding she would be putting her other commitments on hold to focus on getting better.

Wedding bells ring for Carlton superstar Charlie Curnow and Tiana Simic
The whirlwind romance between Carlton superstar Charlie Curnow and fashion stylist Tiana Simic has gone up a significant level with the couple announcing on social media that they are engaged. Both Curnow and Simic went public with the news on Tuesday, less than a year after turning heads on the red carpet at the Brownlow Medal. Last year's Brownlow was really the hard launch of their relationship. Prior to that, they had kept things low key after firing up a romance earlier in the year. Now, they are engaged, with Simic releasing a series of photos on her Instagram — including a blurry photo of her with the ring on her finger — with the caption, 'foreverrrrr <3 !!!!!!!!!!' The back arrow and the 3 is a keyboard shortcut for a love heart. Meanwhile, Curnow dropped the same photo in his Insta story. AFL stars such as Josh Daicos and Bailey Smith were among those to comment on the loved-up couple's exciting news. 'Congrats you two,' Daicos said, while his high-profile fiancée Annalise Dalins said: 'so so happy for you both 🥰 xx' It is a little bit of joy for Curnow who has had a challenging AFL season in 2025. The 28-year-old has only managed 32 goals this year from 18 games, well down on his usual output. Curnow is a two-time All-Australian and was the league's leading goalkicker in both 2022 and 2023. At the end of July, the club decided to conduct surgery on his knee and put him on ice for the rest of the season. 'While Charlie wanted to finish the season strongly, and we would have loved to have him out there for the remaining games, after further consultation this week it became clear that this would give Charlie the best chance to get himself right, recover fully over the off-season and be ready for when we return for the start of pre-season,' Carlton said at the time. 'Waiting until the end of the season could have impacted that, so we've taken the sensible approach. 'As we've seen in the back half of this season, we've been able to give opportunities to players who have been able to step up at senior level and show some real promise.'

Sam Fender to start work on new album latest this year
Sam Fender is planning to hit the studio to work on a new album once he wraps his current run of shows. During his headline set at Manchester's Wythenshawe Park on Saturday (16.08.25), the Hypersonic Missiles rocker told the crowd that once he's done with his last show of 2025, which, as it stands, is in Perth, Australia on November 28, he will busy himself with making new music and getting his voice the best shape possible after suffering a vocal cord haemorrhage this summer. He told the crowd: 'I'm gonna go away at the end of this lot of shows and sort my s*** out and get my voice as good as possible and make another album and f*** loads of new tunes next year. 'I wanna make it the greatest time ever.' Sam was forced to pull out of several European festival dates after suffering the haemorrhage. The 31-year-old rocker went to see his ears, nose and throat doctor (ENT) after struggling during his headline set at the British Grand Prix at Silverstone in July. He was then advised not to sing for two weeks to prevent 'lasting damage to [his] vocal cords'. In a statement shared on Instagram at the time, he said: "Hey everyone, at the beginning of the week I got my voice checked by my ENT doctor and the cords were slightly swollen. 'After a few days rest I was advised by my team that I was okay to perform. On stage at Silverstone I could feel that things were a lot harder than usual, I felt I needed to push a lot harder to sing – this is never a good sign. 'I've just been checked by my ENT again today, as I was concerned about it, and it's transpired that I've had a haemorrhage on one of my vocal cords. 'I've been advised to be on vocal restriction and to not sing for the next 14 days. 'If I were to play at these next shows I would risk causing lasting damage to my vocal cords. This means I cannot perform at the upcoming Rock Werchter, Down the Rabbit Hole, NOS Alive, and Montreux Jazz Festivals. 'I'm so sorry to everyone who is coming to those festivals with our show in mind. Our fans are the most important thing to us, I hate letting people down and I hate not being able to sing for weeks as it is my only real passion in life.' The star was forced to cancel a number of gigs on his 2024 tour after suffering a similar injury to his vocal cords. Sam has been on a stadium tour this summer in support of his third studio album People Watching which included dates at the London Stadium and St James' Park, the home of his beloved Premier League team Newcastle United FC.

US football fans divided after NFL teams add men to their cheerleading squads ahead of season
Male cheerleaders have divided American football fans as NFL teams make major changes to their cheerleading squads ahead of the 2025 season. Male cheerleaders being included in more NFL teams has divided football fans, and now the performers have hit back. The Minnesota Vikings have introduced two new male cheerleaders, Blaize Shiek and Louie Conn - who have since faced homophobic and hateful backlash - in place of two female cheerleaders ahead of the 2025 NFL season. The Baltimore Ravens, LA Rams, New Orleans Saints, Philadelphia Eagles, San Francisco 49ers, New England Patriots, Tennessee Titans, Indianapolis Colts, Kansas City Chiefs, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Carolina Panthers have also announced they will include male cheerleaders this season, up from seven teams last season. The news has divided NFL fans. Fox News' Will Cain said he "doesn't have anything against male cheerleaders', but argued it was the type of cheerleading they were doing that he had a problem with. 'There is something different than what is going on in the NFL,' Cain said. 'And if we're really being honest, we're talking about male cheerleaders being female cheerleaders. That's what's happening with these men who are cheering on the Minnesota Vikings.' — Oli London (@OliLondonTV) August 17, 2025 Former Hercules star Kevin Sorbo wrote on X: 'I've been a Vikings fan all my life … sigh. I need a new team now.' 'Male cheerleaders should be doing male things not trying to look like one of the girls, it's not sexy because it's a DUDE. Lifts and one arm holds not dancing and prancing,' one fan commented on X. The Vikings male cheerleaders Sheik and Conn hit back at the online hate, sharing a photo together captioned: 'Wait … did someone say our name?' The pair received online support despite the negativity directed towards them. 'The funniest part of all this male cheerleader nonsense is the fact that the NFL has had male cheerleaders for years & no one was mad or cared until they were told to be,' one fan said on X. 'Fun fact: Presidents George W. Bush and Ronald Reagan were once both male cheerleaders,' another said. 'What y'all are doing is so f****** important. At a time when rights are being threatened there's no louder activism then being loud and proud. You guys are f****** amazing!!!,' a third added on Instagram. Male cheerleaders have been involved in cheerleading across high schools, college and professional levels, commonly seen throwing their female counterparts in the air. The Vikings have since responded in a statement last week, following the widespread backlash of the two male inclusions in their 2025 squad. 'While many fans may be seeing male cheerleaders for the first time at Vikings games, male cheerleaders have been part of previous Vikings teams and have long been associated with collegiate and professional cheerleading,' the club said. 'In 2025, approximately one-third of NFL teams have male cheerleaders. Every member of the Minnesota Vikings Cheerleaders program has an impressive dance background and went through the same rigorous audition process. Individuals were selected because of their talent, passion for dance and dedication to elevating the game day experience. 'We support all our cheerleaders and are proud of the role they play as ambassadors of the organisation.' In 2018, the Rams were reportedly the first team to include men in their cheerleading squad. In 2025, the New Orleans Saints revealed 13 men would be part of their Saints Cheer Krewe squad. The 2025/26 NFL season kicks off on Thursday September 4 with the Dallas Cowboys taking on the Philadelphia Eagles.
