Telangana CM Revanth launches scheme to provide solar pumpsets to all tribal farmers
The Chief Minister, accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, said this was a unique scheme aimed at empowering the tribal farmers. He urged Mr. Vikramarka to appoint a special officer to oversee the smooth functioning of the scheme.
Mr. Reddy said the pilot project was being launched in 45 acres in Macharam for the benefit of 45 tribals whose lands were allegedly snatched away during the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) regime, and cases were filed for protesting. He suggested to the officials to involve the Women's Self Help Groups in setting up solar power plants for them so that they too could get revenue from it.
Under the Forest Rights Act, the government has sanctioned pattas for 6.69 lakh acres, benefiting about 2.3 lakh farmers of Scheduled Tribes in the State. The new scheme aims to provide irrigation facilities using solar-powered borewells across six lakh acres of tribal land that don't have power connections.
Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka said Congress has to be in power for the next 20 years if the slogans like 'Jal, Jungle, Zameen, Bhoomi Kosam, Bhukti Kosam Poratam' (struggles for water, forest, land, and livelihood) have to be truly realized. He said the new scheme was born from the heart of 'dynamic Chief Minister' whom he described as a 'diamond.'
Nallamala Declaration
He spoke emotionally about generations of tribals who struggled and shed blood in the forests without reaping any benefits. He said the Nallamala Declaration, released by the Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Monday, would now benefit all tribal areas in the State. Later, the Chief Minister went to his native village Kondareddypalle where he performed special poojas at the Anjaneya Swamy temple.

BRS leader Rama Rao demands revision of ECI appointment process
Hyderabad, Aug 17 (PTI) BRS Working President K T Rama Rao on Sunday alleged that the Election Commission seems to be functioning as an extended arm of the NDA and demanded revision of the ECI appointment process. Reacting to the EC's press conference, Rao, in a post on 'X', said: 'Today's press conference left us with more questions than answers. Chief Election Commissioner's explanations seem more like excuses than solutions". Addressing a press conference in New Delhi on Sunday, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gynaesh Kumar said the electoral roll revision is aimed at removing all shortcomings in voter lists and it is a matter of grave concern that some parties are spreading misinformation about it and 'firing from the EC's shoulder". Kumar sought to demolish 'vote theft' allegations levelled by Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and other opposition leaders, citing provisions of the Constitution and clauses of electoral laws. The BRS leader said, 'Yes! We need an SIR! The Special Intensive Revision not of the electoral rolls but of the Election Commission of India itself. The only thing that we clearly now know is that the Election Commission of India (ECI) which is supposed to safeguard the democratic process seems to be functioning as an extended arm of the NDA". Rao said if the ECI acknowledges 'discrepancies" in the voter list, shouldn't they also accept the 'dereliction of their duties?" 'It is high time that we demand a revision not of the voter list but a revision of ECI appointment process…a clinical overhaul of the system so that we can still continue to call ourselves a democracy," he said. New projects on the Godavari justifiable only after share of surplus waters is decided, says Telangana Deputy CM Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka
New projects on the Godavari being planned by Andhra Pradesh will be justifiable and fair only after the surplus river waters are shared between the two Telugu States, asserts Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka. The Congress leader was in Visakhapatnam on Sunday to participate in the party's nation-wide 'Vote Chori' campaign against the alleged theft of votes. Responding to the media queries on the dispute over Andhra Pradesh's proposal to construct Banakacherla project, Mr. Bhatti Vikramarka said the people of Telangana had fought and achieved a separate State to enjoy their rightful share in the river waters. 'It is justifiable to build new projects only after the share of surplus waters is decided after the ongoing projects such as Indira Sagar, Rajiv Sagar, and Devadula are completed and water allocations made to them. The onus of deciding the share of surplus water rests with the Centre,' he said. Dismissing any differences within the Telangana Congress in the wake of MLA Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy's recent remarks against the Chief Minister, Mr. Bhatti Vikramarka said, 'Mr. Rajagopal Reddy too wants the Congress to be strong in Telangana. The party is very strong in Telangana, and in Andhra Pradesh, it will strengthen its base in the future. At the national level too, the party will flourish and Rahul Gandhi will become the Prime Minister.' On the alleged theft of votes, he said deletion of votes was tantamount to curbing the rights of the people. At a separate media conference, Congress Working Committee member Gidugu Rudraraju said the party would stage protests in all the 175 Assembly constituencies from Monday against the 'theft' of votes.

Licensed surveyors' services from Gandhi Jayanti: Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy
Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy announced that the services of licensed surveyors will be made available across the State from October 2. The Minister revealed that the second phase of training for licensed surveyors will commence from August 18 at 23 district centres. He directed candidates to report to the Assistant Director of the Survey department in their respective districts by 10 a.m. on the same day. At a review meeting with officials on Sunday, Mr. Ponguleti said that as per the provisions of the Bhoobharati Act, survey maps have been made mandatory at the time of land registration. To meet this requirement, the government is expediting the induction of licensed surveyors. He said that the first phase of training had already been completed, with 7,000 candidates trained between May 26 and July 26. Practical examinations were conducted under the supervision of JNTU on July 28 and 29, and the results were declared. Successful candidates have since been undergoing 40 days of apprenticeship training, after which licenses will be issued to them. To ensure transparency, the Minister instructed officials to prepare a comprehensive Survey Manual. He stressed the inter-dependence of the Revenue and Survey departments, stating that strengthening the Survey department would directly improve services in the Revenue system. 'The BRS government completely neglected the Survey department in the last 10 years. The present government is determined to revive and revitalise it and provide efficient, transparent services to the people,' the Minister said.
