I-Day to be celebrated as 'Marka-i-Haq'
The Pakistan Army had named the period of conflict with India since the April 22 Pahalgam attack to the May 10 conclusion of Operation Bunyanum Marsoos as "Marka-i-Haq" in May.

Iqbal presided over a preliminary meeting today under the prime minister's directions to celebrate this year's Independence Day with "full national spirit and renewed resolve".

Entrepreneurs, diplomats converge at My Karachi

The BMG chairman highlighted that this year's edition saw participation from 7 consulates and over 20 multinationals. He noted growing demand to hold the event biannually and urged early completion of the K-IV water project to resolve industrial supply issues. KCCI President Muhammad Jawed Bilwani lauded all stakeholders, reiterated the need for a modern Expo Center, and called for fair water and gas distribution. He also stressed better surveillance and infrastructure to ensure business confidence. The event combined shopping and family entertainment with discussions between government officials, business leaders, and foreign missions on economic and civic issues.

Trump separately unveiled a partnership to help develop Pakistan's oil reserves. Trump announced the new deal with Pakistan for the joint development of Pakistan's oil reserves, calling it part of broader trade discussions between the two countries. In a post on Truth Social, Trump said the US is in the process of selecting a company to lead the project and jokingly added that Pakistan might eventually sell oil to India. Mayor inaugurates Keamari Fish Food Street
KARACHI: Karachi Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab Sunday inaugurated the Keamari Fish Food Street. The project is a Karachi Metropolitan Corporation initiative designed to offer a distinctive recreational area for residents. The launch event was attended by Deputy Mayor Salman Abdullah Murad, Sindh Assembly members Asif Khan and Liaquat Askani, and other officials. Addressing the attendees, Mayor Wahab described the Fish Food Street as a new hub for entertainment and dining. Decorated with vibrant umbrellas and lights, the space aims to attract both residents and visitors. The street features diverse food options, including seafood, barbeque, and traditional fare, with comfortable seating arrangements for families. Mayor Wahab detailed the extensive development work undertaken, including paving, tiling, installation of Victorian-style poles, sewerage lines, entrance gates, patchwork, and kerb stones. Beautification efforts and the addition of colorful umbrellas further enhance the area's appeal. The mayor emphasized that this venture, fulfilling a long-standing community desire, provides a modern and unique space where aesthetics and convenience blend.
