Baggott, who died aged 51 in January, was a recognised authority on antique silver, specialising in early spoons, boxes and provincial and continental silver.
His collection is being auctioned across three sales. The first comprised a wide selection of York silver, as well as silver from Liverpool, Chester, Dundee, Newcastle, Bristol, Exeter and Aberdeen.

Among the highlights was a George III York silver tontine chamberstick and snuffer by Hampston and Prince, York silversmiths of the late 18th and early 19th century.
It sold for £8,190, including buyer's premium, against an estimate of £1,000-£1,5000.
A Victorian provincial ceremonial spade with the maker's mark of John Bell sold for £4,032 against an estimate of £1,000-£1,5000.
The spade is engraved with an armorial and inscribed: This spade was presented to the Lady Mayoress of York, Mrs W. Fox Clarke, on the occasion of her planting a tree in St. George's Field in commemorating the marriage of H.R.H the Prince of Wales with Princess Alexandra of Denmark, March 10th 1863.

Baggott was known for his knowledge of silver spoons, two of which were sold together for £819.
Another highlight was a George IV silver-gilt sideboard dish by Birmingham silversmith Edward Thomason, which sold for £5,040.
Rupert Slingsby, silver specialist at Woolley and Wallis auctioneers, said: 'We have been so thrilled with the interest in Michael's sale from worldwide collectors and every lot in the sale was sold.
'This is only part one of his collection with two more sales to follow and this selection achieved £124,614 against an expected figure of £60,000.

'The public view was very well-attended and everyone was extremely impressed with the variety and quality of his collection.'
Baggott's interest in antiques began in his early years, and he progressed to work in Christie's auction house and was head of silver at Sotheby's Billingshurst for a number of years, before becoming a private consultant.
Baggott was also a published author, having written An Illustrated Guide To York Hallmarks 1776-1858 and As Found: A Lifetime In Antiques.
He joined BBC daytime show Flog It! in the 2000s, and valued various silver objects.

Liverpool turn to Marc Guehi in pursuit of defensive reinforcements

Liverpool have opened talks with Crystal Palace for Marc Guehi as Arne Slot looks to continue his summer spending spree. Palace chairman Steve Parish admitted this week he may have to sell his captain, who has entered the last year of his contract, rather than risk losing him on a free transfer next summer. And Liverpool are down to three senior centre-backs after selling Jarell Quansah to Bayer Leverkusen for £30m. Newcastle offered up to £65m for Guehi when they tried to sign him last summer but Palace may be forced to accept a much lower fee because the England international's contract is expiring. Newcastle have since switched attentions to Malick Thiaw and are set to sign the AC Milan defender. Guehi led Palace to victory over Liverpool in the Community Shield at Wembley on Sunday but it could prove the 25-year-old's final game for the club he skippered to the FA Cup as well. Liverpool have spent almost £300m this summer on Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike, Milos Kerkez and Jeremie Frimpong, who all made their debuts against Palace, plus goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili, whose move from Valencia was agreed last year. But they have been short of central defenders, with Joe Gomez injured in pre-season and captain Virgil van Dijk ill. Midfielders Ryan Gravenberch and Trey Nyoni and left-back Andy Robertson have all played in the middle of the defence for Liverpool in friendlies. Ibrahima Konate, Liverpool's other centre-back, has entered the last year of his contract and his future is uncertain. If Liverpool, who have also made a £110m bid for Newcastle striker Alexander Isak, do sign Guehi, he would count as a homegrown player after coming through Chelsea's youth system. Clubs are only allowed to register 17 non-homegrown players in Premier League squads and Liverpool risk having too many, though Greek left-back Kostas Tsimikas has attracted some interest from Nottingham Forest.

Revealed: Why Premier League clash has been given bizarre kick-off time as fans are left furious

's Premier League game against Crystal Palace has been given a bizarre kick off time - but the reason has now been explained. England's premier competition gets underway this week when defending champions Liverpool kick off their campaign against Bournemouth at Anfield on Friday evening. Aston Villa, meanwhile, are one of the sides who have a more favourable fixture run at the start of the season, but do face a tough opener at home the Newcastle - though they will be without Alexander Isak. In gameweek three, meanwhile, they will take on Crystal Palace at Villa Park in their second hand match of the season, but the kick off time and date has been changed to Sunday evening. Instead of the Friday night that it was originally set for, it will now kick off 48 hours later. And the reason for that is because of the confirmation of Palace's spot in the Conference League. After losing their appeal at being kicked out of the Europa League, Oliver Glasner 's side will take part in Europe's third-level competition, and will have to qualify to get there. CAS lawyers had promised to hand down a verdict by close of play on Monday. And they have subsequently sided with the governing body, in what will be a devastating blow to the FA Cup winners and their fans and a decision that could cost Palace up to £20m in lost revenue. It is also likely to be welcomed at the City Ground, with the verdict confirmation that Nottingham Forest will take Palace's place. The Eagles had attempted to have their demotion overturned at the expense of either Forest or Lyon. They were dropped into the third tier competition after a UEFA panel found that US businessman John Textor, whose Eagles Holdings company held a 43 per cent stake in the club, was in a position of influence at Selhurst Park. His firm also owned French outfit Lyon, which qualified for the same competition. Lyon took priority, with only one MCO club allowed in, because they finished higher in their domestic league than FA Cup winners Palace. As a result of the loss of appeal, though, Palace will take on either Fredrikstad of Norway or Midtjylland of Denmark in the qualifying round. Those games will take place early on in the season, with the first leg to be played at Selhurst Park on August 21, which is a Thursday night. The return leg will be played a week later on August 28. The fixture was also originally picked for television coverage, and it has been confirmed that it will still be shown on Sky Sports - just two days later. Therefore, four games will be shown on Sky on the Sunday, with Brighton vs Manchester City and Nottingham Forest vs West Ham set for 2pm and Liverpool vs Arsenal scheduled for 4:30pm. Fans were left fuming at the change. One posted on X: 'Moved again!! Is this some sort of joke?' Another added: 'Nooooo, I'm flying over from the US and have a ticket for this. I leave the 31st!'
