Report: Colts QB Anthony Richardson's shoulder ready for camp
Richardson did not participate in a minicamp last month after the team said he was experiencing soreness in his surgically repaired throwing shoulder.
He had season-ending surgery to repair his right AC joint in October 2023 and has been limited to 15 starts since the Colts drafted him with the No. 4 overall pick in 2023.
Richardson sought outside medical opinions from experts who agreed with the Colts' cautionary approach to this offseason. He has been working with personal coaches in Florida and throwing with velocity, ESPN reported.
It's possible that Richardson could be on a pitch count early in training camp to allow him time to get up to speed, per the report. Players are required to report by Tuesday.
Richardson, 23, faces competition from former New York Giants starter Daniel Jones, who signed a one-year deal for $14 million in March.
Richardson's accuracy and durability will be in the spotlight entering Year 3. In 15 career starts, he has completed 176 of 348 pass attempts (50.6 percent) for 2,391 yards with 11 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. The mobile QB has 635 rushing yards and 10 additional scores.

Orioles RHP Zach Eflin (back) lands on IL for 3rd time this season
July 31 - Baltimore Orioles right-hander Zach Eflin was placed on the injured list for the third time this season on Thursday. He landed on the 15-day IL this time with low back discomfort. The move is retroactive to Tuesday for Eflin, who also was on the IL from April 8-May 11 (right lat strain) and June 29-July 23 (low back discomfort). Eflin, 31, is 6-5 with a 5.93 ERA in 14 games (all starts) this season. He is 68-67 with a 4.28 ERA in 200 career games (188 starts) with the Philadelphia Phillies (2016-22), Tampa Bay Rays (2023-24) and Orioles. In a corresponding move, the Orioles recalled right-hander Brandon Young from Double-A Chesapeake. Young, 26, is 0-5 with a 6.63 ERA in eight appearances (all starts) with Baltimore this season. Giants legend out at CBS amid major NFL shakeup ahead of new season
Former New York Giants running back Tiki Barber will have a different NFL gameday experience this year than in recent seasons. Barber, 50, was left off CBS' broadcast roster for the 2025 NFL season after having previously worked each season since 2019. Rather than appear on televisions for broadcast duties, Barber will instead be working directly with his former team. Barber will be a pre-game and post-game show co-host for Giants gameday broadcasts on radio station WFAN. The running back will be joined by John Schmeelk of for the show. 'I am really excited to be joining the Giants gameday radio broadcast team on WFAN,' Barber said. 'This organization has meant so much to me professionally and personally. Replacing Barber will be Charles Davis (R). Davis, who is set to move to CBS's college football coverage in 2026, will broadcast alongside Andrew Catalon next year rather than Ian Eagle (L). 'The Giants have a long history of legendary broadcasters, and Wellington Mara always told them to call it like they see it because our fans know better. 'I look forward to providing analysis and insight that Giants fans appreciate.' Barber was a second-round pick by the Giants in 1997 out of the University of Virginia - spending his entire career with the team before retiring in 2006. Last season, as a part of the team's 100th anniversary, Barber was named one of the 100 Greatest Giants of All Time. The move to drop Barber from CBS follows on from a move announced in March which will see a few new broadcast teams formed at the company. Back in March, it was announced that JJ Watt would be moving from the network's pregame show - 'The NFL Today' - to become the new analyst on CBS's No. 2 broadcast team alongside play-by-play man Ian Eagle. Eagle's former on-air partner, Charles Davis, is taking Barber's old job in the booth alongside play-by-play man Andrew Catalon and analyst Jason McCourty. Davis is set to move to CBS's college football coverage in 2026. It's unclear if he'll stay in this NFL role next year as well.

Great (Adam) Scott: Birdie binge keeps Wyndham lead, playoffs in sight
July 31 - Adam Scott rang off four consecutive birdies and shot a 5-under-par 65 in the first round of the Wyndham Championship on Thursday, not far from the position required to crash the FedEx Cup playoff starting next week. Scott missed a four-foot birdie at the Wyndham Championship in 2023 to snap his 16-year streak of reaching the playoff. He said he felt more "motivation" than pressure taking the course knowing he likely requires a two-way tie for third or better to have a reason to fly to Memphis for the FedEx St. Jude next week. Scott addressed his mindset heading into the tournament. "I'm going to need to get like 20-under to think of anything, so I better not be 1-under through day one or I'm going to leave myself a lot of work, so nice to make a few birdies," Scott said. "And of course as much as I think about moving on, I'd like to win this tournament, so that's -- it's a similar kind of scenario for me." Starting his round at the 10th hole, Scott turned in an uneven opening nine with two bogeys and three birdies. He clicked after making the turn, including a run of four consecutive birdies to climb the leaderboard. On the par-4, 426-yard fourth (Scott's 13th hole in Round 1), he rolled home a birdie putt bending it back to the right from below the hole. At No. 5, Scott stayed with the short stick from well off the front of the green with his third shot. From nearly 60 feet out, he rolled the ball to a stop inside of two feet for the tap-in birdie and carded two more birdies at Nos. 6 and 7 to briefly jump into a tie for third. Perhaps his best shot of the day was the 33-foot putt at the par-3 seventh. It was his seventh birdie of the round. "You know, the back nine is the easier nine here. I was trying to stay patient," Scott said. "I wasn't too concerned about a bit of a slow first nine holes as long as I did put it into gear on the next. And I managed to, you know, I'm in that spot I can't be too patient, I have to have a go of a few things. I was trying to remind myself of that when I was picking targets out there to be as aggressive as I can." By the time he signed his scorecard, Scott and playing partner Jordan Spieth were tied for fifth and two back of the leaders. Scott has two top-10 finishes at Sedgefield. He didn't play last year after taking second at the Scottish Open and tying for 10th in the Open Championship. This season has been more of a grind. Scott, who celebrated his 45th birthday two weeks ago, is still chasing his first top-10 in 2025. He last had a top-10 in 2024 at the BMW Championship, where he tied for second. --Field Level Media
