'A night of love' as legendary singer Salamiah Hassan teams up with daughter Atilia for a magical outing in special concert at KLCC
On a night promised to be filled with magic and cherished memories, renowned singer Atilia and her mother has promised fans an unforgettable night of retro music and enchanting songs, in a special performance titled 'Konsert Gelombang Bahagiaku', organised by Mujik Wand Production, the event and production outfit led by Salamiah's son Raja Ahmad Shah Raja Haron.
The concert will take place on August 16, 2025, at 8:30pm at the Plenary Theatre, Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC).
More than just a concert, 'Gelombang Bahagiaku' is a symphony of love between two extraordinary women, 'daughter and mother' — united by blood, bound by love, and immortalised through music.
On top of that, fans can also get set for a wonderful rendition of the duo's new single 'Age is just a Number'.
And according to Atilia, she said that the new single which will feature both Bahasa Malaysia-English in the lyrics, is also the first single that will feature the daughter-mother combo.
A Daughter's Dream Come True
For Atilia, this concert is not merely an artistic project, but a heartfelt tribute to the person she loves most — her mother.
'This is a dream come true for me! Since I was a little girl, I wanted to be like my mother. Getting the chance to share such a great stage with her makes me feel like the luckiest girl in the world!' Atilia shared with deep gratitude.
Having witnessed her mother's musical journey from a young age, Atilia now sees this as a meaningful opportunity to express her love and appreciation directly, through the stage, and through song — with the most influential woman in her life.
Raja Ahmad Shah said that the concert idea was always his sister's and she was also the biggest motivator in this project.
"She always had this idea and she was really determined to making this dream project happen. I always loved the idea too. And it is indeed an honour for me to be involved in the project," said Raja Ahmad Shah.
Two Generations, One Melody Of Love
'Konsert Gelombang Bahagiaku' does not just unite two voices with different musical backgrounds, but also bridges two worlds, two generations, and two souls that beat as one, through music.
'I'm very excited. Even though our singing styles differ, I believe it will be a truly special combination for the audience. This is the first time Atilia and I are sharing a large-scale stage, and I'm so grateful for this opportunity,' said Salamiah Hassan, who is celebrating her 55th anniversary in the music industry with this special project titled: 'Salamiah Hassan: #Legacy – Celebrating 55 Years in Music'
"We promise it will be an exciting event for all to see and enjoy the music," added the 73-year-old Salamiah.
Mother-Daughter Duet Debut – 'Age Is Just A Number'
One of the most anticipated moments of the concert will be their first-ever duet, 'Age Is Just A Number', a new song delivering a positive message about life, maturity, and the courage to be oneself regardless of age.
'This song is a reflection of both of us — two independent women doing what we love with heart and a positive spirit,' Atilia explained.
Happiness Is Vibing Together
As the concert approaches, the moment Atilia most looks forward to is singing face-to-face with her mother on stage.
'I'm really looking forward to that magical moment when we sing together and look into each other's eyes on stage. I'm sure the audience will feel that magic too.'
Salamiah hopes the audience will experience the mother-daughter bond, conveyed not just through their vocals, but through the heartfelt energy of two souls who love each other deeply.
'I'm blessed to share my love for music with my own daughter. We may be different, but our shared passion for art brings us even closer,' said an emotional Salamiah at the launching.
Through Hardship & Joy, We Are One
In bringing this concert to life, Atilia and her mother faced their fair share of challenges. But with shared spirit and belief, they pushed forward with their dream, starting from scratch with the help of close friends who believed in their mission.
'Of course there were challenges, but little by little, we made it happen. This concert had to be done. We only did what was necessary, supported by our friends. Alhamdulillah, there were people who believed and were willing to help,' Atilia said candidly.
On top of that, the organisers also announced that singsing star Mimi Fly will kick off the show for the fans.
Mimi, riding high in the charts with her new singles 'Serumpun' (this year's Hari Raya hit) and the hard-hitting 'Angkat' and 'Hey Lelaki' is also a close friend of family. She also works closely with Raja Ahmad Shah's recording outfit.
"It will be an unforgettable night for all music lovers. That I can assure all music lovers. Both mom and daughter are amazing singers," said Mimi Fly.
For Everyone Who Loves Music & Family
'Konsert Gelombang Bahagiaku' is expected to be an emotionally charged evening, full of beautiful memories and heartfelt performances. It is a gift for those who value family, unconditional love, and timeless music.
'I hope the audience is ready for something different, yet close to the heart. Expect great music, and may our songs touch everyone's soul. Thank you!' Atilia promised her fans.

From Snoop Dogg to Tom Brady, stars flock to English second-tier clubs
LONDON: When Snoop Dogg sang the praises of Swansea City, it signalled the unlikely arrival of the latest celebrity owner in the once unfashionable Championship, English football's second tier. The American rapper has joined the Welsh club's ownership structure, investing an undisclosed sum to rub shoulders with former Real Madrid stalwart and World Cup finalist Luka Modric, who has also sunk his money into the club. "The story of the club and the area really struck a chord with me. This is a proud, working-class city and club. An underdog that bites back, just like me," Snoop said in an introductory video. In North Wales, Wrexham are dreaming of an extraordinary promotion to the Premier League this season on the back of the enthusiastic and lucrative support of Hollywood star Ryan "Deadpool" Reynolds and fellow actor Rob McElhenney. Meanwhile, former Super Bowl-winning quarterback Tom Brady has a minority stake in Birmingham City, very much the second club in England's second city after Premier League outfit Aston Villa. His arrival in 2023 was not met with universal approval, with one fan asking "Tom Brady, who's he?" in the Amazon Prime Video series "Built in Birmingham: Brady and the Blues" which follows his early, whirlwind involvement in the club that includes the sacking of manager Wayne Rooney. Brady says his is a "visionary role" and he tries – not always successfully – to pass on his experience of winning seven Super Bowl winner's rings to the Birmingham players and their young manager, Chris Davies. But why do so many celebrities want to invest a slice of their fortunes into the Championship? Christopher Winn, course leader at the University Campus of Football Business (UCFB), told AFP the principal reason was because they see it as an attractive investment – with the carrot of the Premier League's riches if the team can gain promotion proving irresistible. "There is the notion of long-term returns, in other words buying low (in a lower league) and selling high," Winn told AFP. "While on-field success and subsequent off-field returns are no guarantee, should the promised land of the Premier League be reached, a significant profit would likely be generated on any future sale of the club, in other words generating returns for investors well beyond their initial investment and operational outlay. "Granted, that does not mean the investors are all out to make a return – football can often be a game of utility maximisation after all, and for some a personally funded passion project." Brady's friend and co-owner at Birmingham, the New York-based investor Tom Wagner, reveals in the documentary they originally tried to buy a Premier League team but the deal fell through. Then the chance to snap up Birmingham presented itself. "We thought we could make some money, have a good return, which is our ultimate objective, so we just couldn't pass it up," Wagner says. Birmingham manager Davies has quickly felt the effect of having a sporting icon breathing down his neck – he good-naturedly recounted to The Times that his attempts to relax on a family holiday in the Maldives were disrupted by Brady insisting on scheduling daily conference calls at the children's dinner time. In Wagner and Brady's first season, Birmingham crashed down into League One, or England's third division, but with Davies in charge they emphatically secured promotion to the Championship this year, romping away with the League One title with a record points total. That was largely due to the Americans' injection of funds for new players such as forward Jay Stansfield, acquired from Premier League club Fulham for £15 million (RM86 million), a huge fee for League One. Celebrities are active behind the scenes at other Championship clubs. Birmingham kicked off the season last week with a 1-1 home draw against Ipswich Town, who count multi-million-selling music star Ed Sheeran among their financial backers. Ipswich confirmed last year that Sheeran had bought a 1.4 per cent stake in his local club and he has been the shirt sponsor for the last four years - although in a cautionary tale for other star owners, his involvement did not stop Ipswich being relegated from the Premier League last season. - AFP

Chan jokes singing puts him above rival Hung
ACTOR Jackie Chan (pic) playfully threw shade at his former martial arts classmate and rival Sammo Hung, claiming that he was more talented than the latter, reported China Press. Speaking at the Locarno Film Festival recently, the 71-year-old Hong Kong superstar claimed that he had no other peer in the filmmaking industry apart from Hung when it came to writing, directing, acting and coordinating stunts. 'However I am more talented because I can sing,' Chan quipped. Chan, who was presented with a lifetime achievement award at the festival, said his master had once asked him if he was planning to continue doing stunts when he was 60. 'I'm 71 years old now but I can still fight,' Chan said, adding that he would not have been able to continue doing this without the support from fans and the industry. Hung and Chan had the same master when training at the China Drama Academy. Using his connections, the master helped the two break into the film industry as stuntmen which kickstarted their careers. > Everyone thought a man was pulling a prank when he offered anyone in need a stack of 20,000 yuan (RM11,774) in cash at a wet market in Zhuji city, Zhejiang. Police confirmed that the money was real, reported Sin Chew Daily. 'There is a total of 20,000 yuan. If you need it, come take some,' he was filmed saying. When a passer-by asked if the cash was real, he replied, 'It is real, but no one has dared to take them yet.' Video of the incident went viral online, sparking a debate on whether it was a hoax or if it was a prank. According to police, the man, a regular in the area, was mentally unstable. However, this was the first time he had brought a stack of cash to the wet market to be given away. Police sent him home and urged family members to watch over him more carefully to prevent a similar incident from happening.
