Pierre native Grey Zabel drafted by Seahawks
PIERRE, S.D. (KELO) — The first Pierre native has been taken in the NFL Draft as offensive guard, Grey Zabel was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks.
Zabel was taken with the 18th pick of the first round, adding to the very short list of South Dakotans drafted in the first round of the NFL Draft.
Grey played his college football at North Dakota State. A standout NFL Combine and showing at the Senior Bowl helped Zabel's stock rise.
Zabel won the FCS National Championship this season when the Bison defeated Montana State.
The NFL Draft continues Friday and Saturday. KELOLAND Sports will have updates from the draft both on-air and online.

He was potentially in the mix to start for the Vikings last season; however, he was ruled out for his entire rookie year before the season even started.
