Is Tom Izzo a top 10 coach? See where he landed in a recent national list
See where Tom Izzo landed in a newly released head coaches rankings list heading into next season Despite having one of his best seasons in the last five years, Tom Izzo is not considered a top 10 coach nationally by one popular college basketball social media account. College Basketball Report -- a popular social media account known for putting together rankings and other lists -- has released their list of top 50 coaches heading into the 2025-26 season. Izzo was obviously pretty high on the list, but not as high as some may have had the hall of famer. College Basketball Report has Izzo as the No. 12 coach nationally entering the season. Here's a list of the coaches ahead of him in the rankings: The list itself isn't bad -- in my opinion -- when you start to look at who all is ahead of Izzo in the rankings. The one thing I would nitpick on is having Scott Drew ahead of Izzo. Sure, Drew won a national championship in 2021, but other than that season, he hasn't led the Bears to the second weekend of the NCAA Tournament since 2017. So if we are playing a comparison game, I find it hard to have Drew ahead of Izzo based on both recent success and overall success. Get to Know Your Orange Man: #77, OL Kam Pringle
It's time to start preparing for the 2025 Syracuse Orange football season. We're going through the roster to take a look at each Syracuse player as we get to know a lot of new faces for Year 2 of the Fran Brown Era. Up next is… Name: Kam Pringle Position: Offensive line Year: Redshirt freshman Height: 6'8' Weight: 335 lbs. Hometown: Dorchester, SC High School/Previous College: Woodland High School 2024 stats: Appeared in one game with South Carolina, then redshirted the rest of the season. 2025 projections: Pringle is in the top-five candidates among offensive players to break out for the Orange. He's a high-upside transfer with plenty of size. Pringle is also quite versatile — he played tackle in high school, but his six snaps with the Gamecocks came as a guard. He's certainly part of an interesting camp battle in the trenches, and I wouldn't be surprised if he emerged as the starter at some point this year. How'd he get here?: Originally committed to South Carolina in January 2023 over offers from Clemson, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Kentucky, LSU, Michigan, Penn State and a handful of other Power 4 schools. Later committed to the Orange as a transfer in April. What'd recruiting sites say?: Four-star on 247Sports, ESPN and Rivals as a recruit; three-star on 247Sports and ESPN as a transfer. 247Sports has him ranked as a top-25 transfer interior offensive lineman. Winners Get Washed: Dr. Squatch — the perfect body wash for the player who truly is a mountain of a man. Twitter: @PringleKam Instagram feed: @pringlekam Interesting nugget o'interest: Besides football, Pringle appeared to have also played power forward and center for his high school's basketball team. Let's get a look at ya: Some Hudl tape from high school: View Link

Former Wisconsin basketball star appeals to Badgers fans with NFL fandom
Former Wisconsin basketball star John Tonje continues to ingratiate himself with the Badger fanbase, even after joining the Utah Jazz as a second-round pick in the latest NBA draft. Tonje, who is on the short list of recent Wisconsin basketball greats despite spending just one year with the program, took to X on Tuesday to share the following: "Never had a football team growing up, but I went to Wisconsin, so I think I'm a Packers fan." Of course, not all Wisconsin basketball fans are also Green Bay Packers fans. However, given Wisconsin basketball's place in the state's larger sports ecosystem, that dual fandom is quite common. Tonje's play already did the heavy lifting with the fanbase during the season. Now playing in the NBA, he still maintains a connection to Wisconsin and the Badger fanbase. The All-American wing began his college basketball career at Colorado State back in 2019. He played four years for the Rams, headlined by per-game averages of 14.6 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.3 assists as a senior in 2022-23. The Omaha, Nebraska, native then transferred to Missouri for his fifth year, though he missed nearly the entire season due to injury. Finally, Tonje joined the Badgers for his final collegiate season in 2024-25. He delivered one of the greatest seasons in program history, averaging 19.6 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.8 assists and finishing just eight points shy of Frank Kaminsky's single-season scoring record. That record would have been his had the Badgers defeated BYU in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Tonje, who recently concluded the NBA Summer League session with the Jazz, is now looking to make his mark at the professional level. His connection to Wisconsin fans was already strong after his record season with the Badgers. Once the NFL season starts, he can also now share the Packer fan experience.
