Texas A&M is a finalist to land 2026 4-star CB out of Georgia
One of Texas A&M's priority prospects in the 2026 recruiting class has narrowed down his options, and the Aggies are still in contention for four-star cornerback Dorian Barney, who released his top six program list, including Texas A&M, Colorado, Michigan, North Carolina, Penn State, and Georgia Tech.
For one of the top defensive playmakers in the 2026 cycle, Barney's list, not including Georgia or Alabama, is surprising but proves that head coach Mike Elko and Texas A&M defensive backs coaches Ishmael Aristide and Jordan Peterson have put in the work this offseason to solidify their relationship with the talented cornerback.
Barney has already visited Texas A&M four times, including last weekend, when he had the opportunity to take in the first weekend of spring practices. He can easily see himself within Elko's secondary in the coming seasons. In an interview with GigEm247's Andrew Hattersley, Barney discussed his relationship with the A&M coaching staff.
"It was great getting back. That was my fourth time back. So I experienced a lot already with going there some other times, but it was good this time," Barney stated. "The environment, hanging around with the staff. They always show me love when I'm there."
According to 247Sports, Barney is currently positioned as the 163rd-ranked prospect in the class, the 18th-ranked cornerback, and the 19th-ranked prospect in Georgia.

The Denver Broncos just wrapped up organized team activities, with minicamp on deck next. The rookies were able to meet their veteran counterparts and showcase their skills before training camp begins. One of those new rookies is undrafted free agent defensive back Joshua Pickett. Pickett was a four-year player at Duke University from 2021-24. In 50 games played, Pickett recorded 101 tackles (66 solo, 35 assisted), five tackles for loss, one sack, two interceptions, 16 pass deflections and one forced fumble. Pickett had his best season in 2024, where he had 38 combined tackles (26 solo, 12 assisted), four tackles for loss, one interception, one forced fumble and seven pass deflections. 2026 4-star CB and Texas A&M commit has canceled his future visits Texas A&M's recruiting success under coach Mike Elko, who is entering his second season at the helm, has already matched that of former head coach Jimbo Fisher, except for the historic 2022 recruiting class, which, despite its struggles, remains a historical achievement.
