PRATT (1) resumes from a spell for a new stable. Led all-the-way in his Beaumont trial on heavy ground on Apr 16 then under a hold when just caught late by Trounce in his May 7 heat. PERASTA (8) has been up for a while but worth thought on his third to Divine Bene on a Heavy 8 on the Beaumont two starts back. Drawn well. I'M OPINIONATED (7) placed on a Soft 7 at Dubbo last campaign. Just behind the placegetters in both runs back from a spell and at her peak now.

RACE 2: CLICKK MIDWAY 2YO MAIDEN PLATE 900m
TYRONE'S POWER (3) eyeballed the leader and went to the front on straightening before finishing third to Regulated Affair at Warwick Farm second-up. DIVO (1) is a grandson of the Hall of Famer, Makybe Diva by Capitalist on debut. Led and cruised to a near two length win in his Apr 9 Scone trial. Sat outside the leader before going to the front near the 400m to win his Apr 24 Wyong trial on a heavy track. THE ROOKIE (10) will be improved by her first-up fourth to Yes Siree on the Heavy 10 at Wyong.

RACE 3: COASTAL ADVICE GROUP BENCHMARK 64 HANDICAP 900m
HAWKER HALL (5) travelled strongly in front when third behind Leantothemoon on debut as favourite at Hawkesbury on Oct 24. Resumed with a big all-the-way win on a Heavy 8 over this track and distance on Apr 23. Has since won a Beaumont trial impressively. ONE KIND (14) closing in on a win after three handy placings. Was trapped out very wide when a neck third to Dis Is Heaven at Tuncurry and caught deep again when a neck third to Are Ee Que at Wyong last start. Races well this track and distance.

RACE 4: DARREN FARRELLY MEMORIAL (HMF CUP) CUP CLASS 1 & MAIDEN PLATE 2200m
TRAPALANDA (2) battled away when fifth to Collect Your Cash at his Australian debut on the Kensington. Stepped up top Saturday grade when fifth to Asgoodassobergets at Gosford on Cup Day. At his peak now and won third-up in Ireland. TOMMY THUG (7) was a handy neck second to the in-form Shangri La Impact over 2000m at Hawkesbury last start. Place twice on the heavy including a third here three starts back. BEARINGS (8) scored her maiden win first-up at Goulburn before a fourth to Rotagilla on the Kensington.

RACE 5: DAMAR MINYAK DF SUPER 3YO&UP MAIDEN PLATE 1400m
LUNE D'EXCELLENCE (6) was excellent coming from well back to finish a half-length second under a good hold to Pratt in his Apr 16 trial. Went back from a wide gate and was held up early in the straight when a two-and-a-half length fourth to Impressionism over 1300m here first-up. INVISIBLE MAGIC (4) ran much better than his $71 starting price when a length-and-a-quarter third to Hopper on debut at Warwick Farm. Will take improvement from the run. Anamoe's half-sister BLUE WILLOW (3) has been okay on both runs.

RACE 6: AARON WALTER CENTURY 21 EDGEWORTH F&M BENCHMARK 64 HANDICAP 1250m
LUNAITE (6) was given a long spell after her debut seventh on the Kensington in March last year. Resumed with a two length second to Night Sky at Wyong on Apr 17 then scored a near four-and-a-half length win from Blue Willow on a Heavy 10 here last start. NAUGHTY NURSE (8) was narrowly beaten by Love Child first-up before winning at the Gold Coast. Worked to leaded from a wide gate and raced keenly when eighth at the Sunshine Coast last start. REDUCIO (7) can bounce back from a disappointing run last start.

RACE 7: NEWCASTLE SKIN CHECK CG&E BENCHMARK 64 HANDICAP 1250m
FRENCH MARINE (6) didn't have any luck first-up when he was held up in the straight and unable to be tested when a two-and-a-half length eighth to Executive Decision over 1100m at Wyong. Has two win and three seconds from seven starts second-up and is a winner at this track and trip. Likes it wet. MURAL CROWN (1) was okay when fifth to Cassiel first-up at Canterbury then raced flat when second last behind She Conquers at Kembla. Can bounce back. POCKET EIGHTS (7) is two from two on the heavy.

RACE 8: FULTON HOGAN PROVINCIAL BENCHMARK 68 HANDICAP 1850m
DREAMDEEL (1) was just beaten by Peace Centre at Kembla and less than a length away when fourth to Alabama Fox at Hawkesbury before racing keenly in front and fading behind Fiftyficechevy here on Apr 12. Bounced back with a nose win at Gosford from Ocean Diva who has won since. BELLA KATHLEEN (9) scored a good win at her NSW debut in a Class 1 here before a second to Gentileschi in the Godolphin Tiara at Muswellbrook. Placed all four runs on the heavy. ELIVINA (8) is racing well and has claims.

NEXT BEST Race 7 No.6 OCCULT: Has got Country Championships contender written all over him. VALUE Race 1 No.1 GREAT COSMIC: Local gelding who has trialled up nicely ahead of the debut. QUADDIE Race 5: 3,5,7,11 Race 6: 4,5,10 Race 7: 6 Race 8: 1,2,6,12 JOCKEY TO FOLLOW Grant 'Bucko' Buckley will be popular in the TAB Jockeys Challenge TAMWORTH INSIDE MAIL RACE 5: Benchmark 58 (1600m) CROATIAN MADAME (11) has been nominated for other venues so is not a guaranteed starter. On top if she comes otherwise all roads lead to BIG SHORT (5), who is trained locally by this year's Grafton Guineas winning conditioner Wayne Brown. HINUNE (5) has accepted for Bathurst Monday. Big chance wherever she goes. CRUSADER RAZOR (10) has drawn wide but will come in plenty with the scratchings! Beaten 3-lengths by a good horse (Bonnie And Bruce) at Bathurst last time. BET: RELEASE POINT (4) to win, CRUSADER RAZOR (10) to place, Daily Double 1st Leg 4, 2nd Leg 1. OCCULT (6) was $1.24 into $1.12 when he made his Cody Morgan stable debut here on June 27 and won accordingly. One can only assume that he was bought (off Godolphin) with the Country Championships in mind and London to a Brick-on, he'll be in the Heat if they want him to go that way. OENOLOGY (3) has a wide draw and is first-up but he's a pretty reliable horse. TOUGH GUY (5) (Bullock's ride) is on such a rapid, upward trajectory. So too NIMBLE STAR (2) who has won 3 from 4 and lost the rider at the other. BET: OCCULT (6) to win, box trifecta 2,3,5,6. SPIRIT OF PLUTO (1) has won five times with eight placings from 32 starts. He has placed twice here, twice at the distance and twice first-up. He was on a hat-trick prior to a creditable effort in the Newmarket at Armidale. gets 'in' okay now after the claim. THE AFFIRMATIVE (12) has a really compelling set of numbers right across the board apart, maybe, by her first-up stats. The Anthony Manton-owned, Craig Clegg-trained local races well here at home but was dealt the visitor's draw! Can imagine LA PELAGO (6) making full use of the inside draw. BET: SPIRIT OF PLUTO (1) each-way. â– â– â– â– â– TAREE TIPS BEST BET Race 2 No.3 LYKOS: Big run with no luck on debut at Tuncurry on the Heavy 8. NEXT BEST Race 4 No.7 SHALAMIYNA: Beat a decent Maiden field here on a Heavy 9. VALUE Race 7 No.7 THE YOUNG YEARS: Her 'best' is good enough to give some cheek in the right Highway. TAREE INSIDE MAIL BUCK PHAROAH (5) gets the conditions to suit, big time, on Friday keeping in mind that his record on the Heavy going is nine starts for four wins and three placings. Four of his six career wins are circa this short trip and he races well at Taree. Nine of ZOE SHARK (3) 's last 11 starts have been at her home track at Newcastle. She's won two of them and one of those she beat Dark Glitter no less. LADY TULESSA (6) has nine wins on her resume which is not easy too in any era let alone in the Benchmark system. BET: BUCK PHAROAH (5) to win. VEECEE (1), the $750,000 Gold Coast yearling in 2022, sold online in 2024, has got lengths on these. In fact, I would be happy to back him in most Highways BUT with that said, I am not sure about him on really wet tracks. GOT THE SMARTS (5) has accepted for Ballina on Monday but drew poorly (13) as opposed to (2) here. She is a 6YO with just nine starts under her belt but she is loaded with talent. There is a scenario where both are absent which could pave the way for the Paul Snowden-trained CASH AND CARDS (2). BET: CASH AND CARDS (2) to place. THE YOUNG YEARS (7) is one of those horses whose 'best' is good enough to win most races that she runs in, even a Highway if things really fell into her lap that is. She goes well enough at Taree, she goes particularly well on Heavy tracks and has run okay in some rather strong 58's of late. HYPOTHERMIA (6) ran way above his $41 SP when fifth, beaten a diminishing three-lengths, in a 58 at Grafton last start. Both wins were on Soft. KAYZ TIME (1) has Sammy Conquers All and Bodhi Boy form. OSTRACISED (4) is racing so well this prep. For the record, he is '822117'. That last run was in the Coffs Harbour Cup. He wasn't great by any stretch but this is more his go on Friday. Two things weigh heavily in his favour IMHO, one is back to 1412m and the other is that he is a muddie par excellence. LEASE (8) commemorated his 50th career start with a win and what a determined win it was too from a horse who has a distinct preference for wet tracks.

Mornington trainers Lyn Tolson and Leonie Proctor eye Listed win with Pop Award in Regal Roller Stakes at Caulfield
There are family businesses then there's the Lyn Tolson and Leonie Proctor operation at Mornington. Every family member has a role. Tolson and Proctor have combined for more than 100 winners since beginning their training partnership but preparing their 19-strong team is only part of the pair's busy schedule. Taking on new clients is almost impossible with their workload but loyal supporters have always supplied the pair with talented gallopers alongside their own purchases. 'We're trying to work on a bit better class horses so we bought a few young horses,' Tolson said. 'We're trying to upgrade what we've got but we don't take a lot of new outside owners because we do a lot of pre-training for Nick Ryan, Grahame Begg and Lloyd Kennewell. 'That side of things is very important for our business.' • Brad Waters' Caulfield Saturday tips, race-by-race analysis Grand sprinter Curran is the star of Tolson and Proctor's team, earning the camp more than $800,000 in his 40-start career. Tolson joked Proctor lets Curran do whatever he likes as the definite stable favourite. Saturday's Listed Regal Roller Stakes runner Pop Award could equal Curran's win tally of five if she secures a vital black-type success at Caulfield. But unlike Curran, Tolson said Pop Award initially had a vicious streak that caused her earliest breakers to throw up their hands in despair. 'When we got her, she'd been through different breakers and pre-trainers because she'd been such a rat,' Tolson said. 'She could strike at you and go at you better than any stallion. 'She was just an angry horse and always said, 'I'm just not doing it'. The more pressure you put on her, the worse she got.' Time spent with her final breaker immensely improved Pop Award's attitude. Tolson said Pop Award wasn't perfect, but her trainers could work with the daughter of Shamus Award. 'She gave him (the last breaker) a hard, hard time and when he handed her back to us, he said, 'what you've got here is what you've got and I've got no more tricks up my sleeve',' Tolson said. 'He was the third breaker that had her. But he told us, 'once you get her in the box, she'll stand. She won't want to come out. Just let her do it herself'. 'That's what we did, we worked with her and she's a lovely horse. She's such a nice horse to ride but you've got to let her do it on her terms. 'She's got plenty of attitude but she's a nice horse to work with now.' Pop Award belied her difficult start to her career to string together four wins in a row to earn a chance at Listed level in the Regal Roller Stakes. Tolson said she didn't know how high Pop Award could go in her career but said connections would do the five-year-old a disservice not to give her a shot at stakes racing. 'The media keeps putting a wrap on her and she's still stepping but I'm not sure how far she's going to go,' Tolson said. 'She's still got to do it but we'd be kicking ourselves if she was good and we missed out on some nice races.' Pop Award is a $7.50 chance to notch her fifth straight win in the Regal Roller Stakes. 'As long as she's competitive in it and works to the line, we'll be happy,' Tolson said. 'We'll see how she goes and we can plan from there.'
