Josh Taylor aims to get his journey 'rebooted and kickstarted again' on Saturday
Land of the Brave' takes place at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow on Saturday night when a new, welterweight version of Josh Taylor will take on former British champion Ekow Essuman on his debut at the weight, having been undisputed champion at the weight below, shown live on DAZN Worldwide.
Also on the bumper card is future heavyweight star Moses Itauma who takes on Mike Balugon who's only loss was against Murat Gassiev. In a pair of all-Scottish match-ups, Nathaniel Collins faces Lee McGregor while Aston Brown and Reece Porter will go at it in a battle of unbeaten prospects.
An intriguing cruiserweight clash sees Aloys Junior and David Jamieson contest Junior's WBA Continental and the vacant Commonwealth Championships. While the sons of two Scottish boxing legends, Alex Arthur Jr and Drew Limond, make their pro debuts.

The final press conference took place at the Scottish Event Campus this afternoon.
Taylor said: 'It is great to be back here and this has been my home since the Commonwealth Games. I've had most of my big fights here, Victor Postol, my first world title against Ivan Baranchyk, so I've had most of my big nights here, so I am looking forward to getting back. It has been a little while since I've been here, so I am looking to put on a big show on Saturday.
'Obviously training has been gruesome and hard, hard work, but it feels like I am at holiday camp this week. No dieting, cutting weight or drying out tonight, getting the last bit of water you can out of you. There is none of that this week, I am full of beans, full of energy with a spring in my step. I can't wait to get going on Saturday.
'I will get this journey rebooted and kickstarted again. Take care of business on Saturday, do it in a good fashion and look forward to moving on to big fights in the future.

'At 140lbs what else was there left for me to do? I'd completed boxing in a sense and won every single belt in boxing you can win. What else was there for me in terms of challenges, setting new targets? There was nothing to do. So, what there was, was moving up with an assault on becoming a two-time, two-weight world champion.
'I am planning on taking this guy out on Saturday and that is what I'm going to do.'
Ekow Essuman added: 'Thank you to everyone in Glasgow for accepting me, everyone has been extremely welcoming and it is a beautiful place. I am just happy to be here.
'That is the whole point of it, we're supposed to do that [in response to Taylor's taking out comment]. I don't take offence to it, it is what it is. He's in my way, I'm in his way.
'Of course he believes it, he should. That is good, if he wants to try and end it early it might be to his detriment. We are going to find out on Saturday. I came prepared for the best Josh Taylor there can be, so this is just confirming what I thought would come.
'It doesn't matter about being his backyard or if it was back in Nottingham or in London. I don't have a lot of shows I've boxed on in my home city, like big shows, so I am used to being the away fighter.
'It is just same job, different venue.'

Francis Warren said: 'It is an absolutely great show to reintroduce Queensberry back in Scotland. We have had some terrific nights here over the years and it is an absolute pleasure to be back. It is fantastic to be working with Josh and what he has done in this sport is second to none, literally, with him being the only guy in the UK to be undisputed in the four-belt era.
'Ekow has decided this is the challenge he wants to take and it is going to take a phenomenal effort from him to come up to Josh's hometown and disrupt what I am sure Josh wants to be a successful campaign at welterweight. But Ekow has got his own ambitions at world level and, if he does come up here and do the business on Josh, he is making a real statement. Josh also wants to make a big dent in the world scene.
'We've got some terrific youngsters on the undercard as well, local guys, and it is a pleasure to be back in Glasgow alongside a couple that we brought up from down south in Aloys and Moses. I am looking forward to a cracking night on Saturday.'

Liverpool prepare record transfer offer as final Florian Wirtz obstacle emerges
Liverpool are looking to add more talent to their team and negotiations are underway with Leverkusen to secure a deal for Florian Wirtz in a deal that could set a British record Liverpool wasted little time in getting to work in the transfer market after winning the Premier League title in Arne Slot's first season. The Reds boss inspired his side to victory despite limited transfer activity last summer but there's been a change in tact this year. The Anfield side have already signed Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen having allowed Trent Alexander-Arnold to exit. The full-back joined Real Madrid a month before his contract expired, with the Merseyside team bringing in £10million. And now Liverpool are looking to add more talent to their team. Negotiations are underway with Leverkusen to secure a deal for Florian Wirtz in a deal that could set a British record. Slot is also looking to bolster his options at the back with a bid expected for Milos Kerkez. The Bournemouth defender is expected to add competition for Andy Robertson. Wirtz obstacle Bayer Leverkusen still expect Florian Wirtz to join Liverpool despite rejecting two offers, it has been claimed. The Reds' second bid fell short of Leverkusen's £126m asking price but they continue to lead the race to sign the superstar. According to Bild, Leverkusen higher-ups don't consider the move to be in jeopardy and the transfer fee is the only remaining obstacle. The same outlet reports that Liverpool and Wirtz have already agreed terms. A players-plus cash deal could offer a solution, while another suggestion is Liverpool could present a bid which will only hit Leverkusen's valuations if bonuses are triggered. Harvey Elliott and Jarell Quansah are among those being touted if the German club get a player as part of the transfer. Deco on Barca business Barcelona sporting director Deco says that targets Marcus Rashford and Luis Diaz should not be expecting any imminent transfer offers. In an interview with BBC Sport, the former Portugal international explained the club's priorities currently lie elsewhere. "We have been focusing on renewing contracts, after that, we'll discuss players to come," he said. "Of course, these two players, like you mentioned, they are good but have contracts in their clubs, so we won't speak because it's not fair. But when you decide to go to the market, for sure, we find some names. In my opinion, we don't need to bring many players. Man Utd 'confident' of landing Bryan Mbeumo in £50m deal as transfer plan clear
Manchester United are set for a busy summer in the transfer market and already a pattern is becoming clear at Old Trafford ahead of Ruben Amorim's first pre-season at the club Manchester United have moved on from Liam Delap and will now look to sign Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo in a £50million deal this summer. The Red Devils are growing increasingly confident of being able to lure the forward to Old Trafford after the striker indicated he wanted to move to the club. United will be required to fight off interest from the likes of Newcastle and Arsenal to secure the Cameroon international. Ruben Amorim is said to be keen to make Mbeumo, who scored 20 goals in the Premier League in 2024/25, an integral member of his team. The Red Devils have returned their attention to Mbeumo after missing out to Chelsea for Ipswich Town Forward Delap. The 22-year-old former Man City youngster is primed to be announced as the Blues' newest signing after undergoing his medical, with Chelsea having agreed to pay his £30m release clause. United will hope to continue to strengthen Amorim's hand after announcing their first deal of the summer of the weekend. The 13-times Premier League champions confirmed a deal for Matheus Cunha after agreeing a £62.5million deal with Wolves. The Brazil forward was present in Manchester over the weekend before departing for international duty. The club want to replenish their front line after failing to see a member of their squad reach double figures in the Premier League's goalscoring charts. But United's attention turning to Mbeumo also appears to suggest an emphasis on targeting Premier League talent. That would appear to see the club taking a different approach to recent seasons. Last summer saw some heavy spending as the likes of Leny Yoro, Manuel Ugarte, Matthijs de Ligt and Joshua Zirkzee were brought in from abroad and the season before that saw only Mason Mount arrive from England's top-flight. And in 2022/23, the signings of Antony, Lisandro Martinez and Casemiro stole the headlines, though United did take advantage of Christian Eriksen being available for free It perhaps comes as little surprise that the club would look from within the division after struggling to 15th in 2024/25. And United's issues were all the more evident domestically, as they earned their way to the final before coming unstuck against British opposition in Tottenham. United boss Amorim has previously highlighted why he believes issues have been found when playing more familiar opposition. "When you play against any team in England, the physicality is there," he said. "If you don't have physicality, you will struggle a lot. Antony is so much better now in Spain. There are many factors, but I guarantee you it's physicality." And bringing players in who already have Premier League experience, and have thrived in the environment, such as Cunha and Mbeumo, would not only improve the team but potentially require less time to adjust. After a dismal start for Amorim, he will hope such players at least offer part of the answer.

Duncan Shearer: Number 9 like Bojan Miovski - but not Miovski - top of the transfer wish-list for Aberdeen this summer
A striker must be top of the list of priorities for Aberdeen boss Jimmy Thelin this summer. The Dons confirmed their list of departures last week – and none of the names came as a surprise. Kevin Nisbet and Oday Dabbagh were the two strikers on the list of players leaving Pittodrie, and as well as Nisbet did for the club, I'll be surprised if we see him back. Millwall boss Alex Neil will, quite rightly, want to have a look at the Scotland international for himself, and it's no secret Nisbet will be on a very good wage in the English Championship. A package to bring the player back to Pittodrie would eat up a significant portion of the club's summer transfer kitty. Sadly, the same would be said for any Aberdeen fans dreaming of Bojan Miovski making a shock return to Pittodrie this summer… Reports from Spain claim Girona are looking to move the North Macedonia international on, but as much as I'd love to see Miovski leading the lead for Aberdeen again, I think the chances are slim. If Girona are willing to send him on loan then maybe, but even then it seems unlikely for me – and I just don't see the Dons paying the substantial fee it would take to bring him back permanently. It's a Miovski-type figure they should be looking for, though. We knew nothing of him when he arrived in Scottish football from MTK Budapest, but it became apparent very quickly he was a class act. Aberdeen's scouting network has expanded significantly in the Dave Cormack era and the net is cast much wider these days. If the Dons can pull another Mivoski out of the hat then their team will carry a serious attacking threat next season. There will be other positions in need of strengthening, such as the left-back position now that Jack MacKenzie has signed for Plymouth Argyle. But keeping the Aberdeen squad together is just as important as the recruitment. Shayden Morris' breakthrough season for the club saw him named player of the year at Pittodrie. Five goals and 13 assists are a fine return for a wide player, but with Morris now moving into the final year of his contract, extending his stay is crucial. If he maintains the progress he has made then I can see a big move happening for him in the future. His pace alone is such an asset. But the club needs to protect its investment in the former Fleetwood Town winger. Leighton Clarkson's strong end to the season will also have attracted interest – and you don't come through the Liverpool academy unless you have something about you. Mats Knoester has also been outstanding since he joined the club in the winter window. The Dutchman was a big reason for the club's recovery from a mid-season slump and was terrific alongside Jack Milne and Alfie Dorrington in the Scottish Cup final win against Celtic. I should probably add the manager to that list, too. When you beat one of the big boys – and they don't come bigger in Scottish football than Celtic right now – people tend to take notice. When you beat them for silverware, you're effectively putting a target on your back. Jimmy Thelin has done just that by guiding Aberdeen to cup glory. Clubs in England think nothing of taking a punt on a manager who has enjoyed a modicum of success, and Thelin's name will be on the file of potential new managers for clubs in the months ahead. He strikes me as a guy who is committed to the project he has taken on at Aberdeen, but we won't know for sure until a club tries to tempt him and test his club's resolve. I'm pleased to hear Don Cowie will be staying on to lead Ross County's bid to win promotion back to the Premiership. But I'm saddened to see Carl Tremarco and Paul Cowie leave the club. It's never pleasant to see people lose their jobs, and I'm sure both Carl and Paul will be back in the game somewhere soon enough. It's clear chairman Roy MacGregor felt he had to make some changes following the club's relegation from the top-flight. There's a big rebuilding job needed at the Staggies this summer, but it became apparent pretty quickly that Roy was backing Don. Had he wanted to make a change it would have happened already – and before decisions were made on players leaving the club in the last few ways. The addition of John Robertson to the backroom staff as assistant manager will help. Robbo has the experience and the contacts in the game to help Don and he will be the perfect foil for the manager in the new-look coaching team. He'll need to delve into that contact list to help Don reshape his squad for the new campaign in the Championship.. Seven loan players – Jonathan Tomkinson, Jack Grieves, Zac Ashworth, Kacper Lopata, Eli Campbell, Will Nightingale and Nohan Kenneh – have returned to their clubs, while Scott Allardice, James Brown and Ryan Leak have left. That's 10 guys already out the door if you are keeping count, and I know from speaking to the chairman in the past how frustrating he finds having to start over with building a squad every summer. It's the nature of the beast for County due to the club's location and it has been a major challenge for every manager who has been there. Robbo can only help Don on that front. I look at the division and I'm convinced it is getting tougher every season – it's certainly a more competitive Championship than it has been for years. In St Johnstone, Partick Thistle, Ayr United, Raith Rovers and Dunfermline, that's five teams who will be expecting to be in the hunt for the title alongside the Staggies before a ball has been kicked.
