Georgia football analyst leaves for Fran Brown, Syracuse
The Georgia Bulldogs have been known for their elite defensive talent during the Kirby Smart era. The Dawgs have also accumulated a lot of coaching talent over the years and other top college football programs want members of UGA's coaching staff.
Much like the transfer portal, college football coaching staffs have significant turnover every year as coaches look to further their careers. Former cornerbacks coach Fran Brown left for Syracuse last season and flourished, going 10-3. An upset win over Miami to end the season prevented the Hurricanes from going to the College Football Playoff in Brown's top win of the season.
Now, Georgia defensive analyst Blaine Miller is expected to join to Fran Brown's staff at Syracuse to become the new nickels coach.
Miller joined the Georgia staff prior to the 2023 season, which was Brown's final season at Georgia. Miller is listed as a quality control coach and worked with the inside linebackers, assisting Glenn Schumann, who is Georgia's defensive coordinator.

AFC South team expected to sign RB Nick Chubb
Former Georgia Bulldogs running back Nick Chubb is close to finding a new home. He is expected to sign with the Houston Texans on a one-year deal, according to Ian Rapoport. His physical is still pending. Chubb was a five-star running back when he was recruited by the Georgia Bulldogs in 2014. He would go on to have one of the most legendary careers by a Georgia running back ever. Through four seasons, he ranked second among all running backs in yards (4,769) and touchdowns (44) in school history. Chubb's injury concerns popped up in 2015, when he tore his PCL, MCL, and LCL against Tennessee. Despite the injury, the Cleveland Browns selected him 37th overall in the 2018 draft. Early on, Chubb looked like he could be one of the greatest running backs of all time. In his first five seasons, he totaled 6,341 yards and 48 touchdowns on just 1,210 attempts. He had more yards than Pro Football Hall of Famers Tony Dorsett, Edgerrin James, Jerome Bettis, and Thurman Thomas did through their first five seasons. Unfortunately, injuries caught up with him again. He suffered a torn MCL in 2023 vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday Night Football. That took him out for the rest of the 2023 season and six games of the 2024 season. Need a break? Play the USA TODAY Daily Crossword Puzzle When he came back, he wasn't the quite same running back, but he still showed flashes of his immense talent in a two-touchdown game against the Steelers on Thursday Night Football in Week 12. Unfortunately, against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 14, he suffered a broken foot. With his contract expiring in 2024, Cleveland did not re-sign him. Chubb now is expected to join a crowded backfield with solid veteran Joe Mixon, youngster Dameon Pierce, and fourth-round pick Woody Marks.

Should the Boston Celtics consider trading Jaylen Brown this summer?
Should the Boston Celtics consider trading Jaylen Brown this summer? The Boston Celtics are expected to make some big changes this summer. As currently constructed, the roster is estimated to cost $500 million next season, once luxury taxes are accounted for. As such, it makes sense that Brad Stevens will want to make some changes, especially as the rotation is getting older and the team isn't expected to be a contender next season. Kristaps Porzingis, Jrue Holiday and Sam Hauser are seen as the most logical trade candidates for Boston. However, Stevens may need to include Jaylen Brown in the negotiations if he opts to make a bigger change. However, that is unlikely unless a star-level talent is heading to the Celtics in return. Still, Brown's $285 million contract, which will see him earn $53.1 million next season, will ensure that his name is floated in trade rumors. After all, if the Celtics are looking to cut costs, moving Brown is one of the easiest ways to do so, despite the clear downgrade effect that would have on the roster. During a recent episode of "The Greg Hill Show," the concept of trading Brown was discussed. The hosts even dove into a hypothetical move for Giannis Antetokounmpo, who is rumored to potentially be available this summer. Brown's impact and contract status were both factored into the discussion, with the hosts looking at the pros and cons of keeping him around. On3 lists the Auburn Tigers as a 2025 College Football Playoff 'sleeper'
On3 lists the Auburn Tigers as a 2025 College Football Playoff 'sleeper' On3's Ari Wasserman feels that it would be foolish to sleep on the Auburn Tigers this season. Auburn football has not experienced a winning season since the COVID-shortended 2020 season, but one analyst feels that this could be the year that the Tigers get over the mountain and will make a run to the College Football Playoffs in 2025. Ari Wasserman of On3 recently compiled a list of SEC and Big Ten teams that could create havoc in the College Football Playoff race in 2025, and the Auburn Tigers are on it. Wasserman cites quarterback play as a giant factor in Auburn's chances to earn a seat in the College Football Playoff for the first time ever. Auburn was the best bad team in college football last year. Despite having dysfunctional quarterback play the entire season, the Tigers fought hard, ran the ball well and were highly competitive against good teams. Now head coach Hugh Freeze — who has a long history of drawing up some ball plays — brought in three options at quarterback. It seems like Jackson Arnold, the Oklahoma transfer, will get the call. If he has a solid, productive offseason in which he develops, high-level quarterback play combined with an amazing 1-2 receiver punch of Cam Coleman and Eric Singleton Jr. could have the Tigers back in contention. With the talent that Auburn head coach Hugh Freeze has recruited to Auburn over the years, it feels that Auburn is close to making its first-ever College Football Playoff appearance. Quarterback play will be under a high-powered microscope this season as most analysts, such as Wasserman, feel that will make the difference in the Tigers making a playoff push, or ending the season in a bowl game. Jackson Arnold joins the Tigers' roster after posting solid numbers at Oklahoma last season, completing 62% of his passes for 1,421 yards and 16 touchdowns while rushing for an additional 444 yards and three touchdowns. He will get a fresh start after a sophomore season filled with inconsistent offensive line play and an injury-filled season for the Sooners' wide receiver unit. Auburn will protect him with an experienced offensive line and a wide receiver room that is poised to be the best in the SEC this season. If Arnold becomes the quarterback that was he was projected to be as a five-star and the Gatorade Player of the Year from Texas, there is zero question that Auburn will be in the mix for a College Football Playoff bid. According to Wasserman, the South Carolina Gamecocks, Oklahoma Sooners, and Florida Gators join Auburn as SEC squads who are also considered a "sleeper" in the College Football Playoff pursuit. Based on this list, the Sept. 20 matchup between the Tigers and Sooners in Norman could be a major player in both team's College Football Playoff dreams.
