Love Island's Ekin-Su and Curtis Pritchard confirm split in awkward statement just months after show

Daily Record28-05-2025

Love Island All Stars' Ekin-Su has confirmed the rumours that she has split from Curtis Pritchard in a statement on Instagram, just three months after they finished up in third place on the ITV show.
Love Island's Ekin-Su has confirmed that she has split from Curtis Pritchard just months after the pair starred on the ITV spin off series Love Island: All Stars together. Speculation has been rife among social media users that the couple had called time on their romance after they failed to post any snaps together online.
Confirming the rumours, Ekin-Su said in a statement that they were both "focusing on navigating this transition". Her released statement, which has not been mirrored by Curtis, announced that they had agreed to "go [their] separate ways" and that it had been a "tough decision". No reason for their break-up was given.

It added: "I wanted to share that Curtis and I have decided to go our separate ways. It's been a really tough decision, but one made with a lot of love and respect for one another. He's an incredible person and I'll always cherish the memories we made both in and out of the villa. Thank you all so much for the love and support over the past few months.

"We're both focusing on navigating this transition and would really appreciate privacy during this time. Love always, Ekin-Su xX."
The update comes after the couple fuelled speculation last week that their relationship was over after Curtis' solo appearance at the celeb packed Market Place St. Paul's VIP launch party, the Mirror reports.
Meanwhile, Ekin also failed to mention Curtis while she was being quizzed about her love life during an interview.
At the time, she replied: "Love, for me, is a deep bond, trust and being able to be completely yourself with someone... Love enables both individual development and growth together.
"I find peaceful, safe and unexpected love valuable. This is exactly the definition of love for me."

Ekin-Su and Curtis' split comes just weeks after winners Casey O'Gorman and Gabby Allen revealed that they had gone their separate ways.
In a statement, the pair said: "After much thoughtful consideration, Gabby and Casey have decided to go their separate ways romantically. This decision was mutual, and they both remain on good terms as friends with a shared respect for each other."

Of the five couples who reached the final earlier this year, only Grace Jackson and Luca Bish and Elma Pazar and Sammy Root are still thought to be together, just three months on.
Omar Nyame and Catherine Agbaje split mere weeks after leaving the South African villa, with insiders claiming they never reached the "exclusive boyfriend-girlfriend stage" and that the romance had run its course.
Back in March, Luca organised a romantic girlfriend 'proposal' on the beach in Dubai, assembling candles and white roses around a table for two adorned with candles and gold cutlery.

Luca shared snaps of a delighted Grace kissing him in front of the display which featured a lit up neon 'sign that read Will you be my gf?'
Captioning the snap, he wrote: "I'll keep this one. Thank you @fahidbcbybarbossa for bringing my vision to life so perfectly. Wouldn't have wanted to do this in any other place @visitabudhabi #AbuDhabiPartner #InAbuDhabi."
Underneath, former Islander Jacques O'Neill joked: "Skipped straight to proposal nice mate."
While Luca's sister Claudia wrote: "The perfect perfect addition to the family @gracexrosa."

Emmerdale icon 'set for shock return to the Dales after years away in explosive new storyline'

Champagne corks will be popping at The Woolpack as Emmerdale 's beloved barmaid Bernice Blackstock is reportedly making a comeback. According to The Sun, actress Samantha Giles, 53, is set to return to the ITV soap after two years off-screen. However, fans will reportedly have to savour every moment of her scenes, as her return is expected to be brief. Samantha's character Bernice is said to be back in the Dales for Gabby and Vinny's wedding, with filming due to start in a couple of weeks. A source told the publication: 'Everything is being kept very hush-hush but of course, Bernice's return is a big deal as one of the soap's most loved characters. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the Daily Mail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. 'And Samantha being back among the cast is a real win too, as everyone loves working with her.' MailOnline has contacted ITV for comment. Samantha first joined Emmerdale in November 1998 and stayed until April 2002. She returned for two further stints, once in 2004 and again in 2023. She left the show two years ago to pursue other opportunities, including a theatre production of The Syndicate. During an interview at the time, Samatha was asked if she would ever return to Emmerdale. She replied: 'I don't feel I'd want to go back to Emmerdale at the moment. I'm enjoying doing other things, and the show changes. 'I haven't had a chance to see what's going on with the show, so I don't know whether Bernice would fit into it at the moment. She added: 'Who knows? They might not want the character to come back.' A source told the publication: 'Everything is being kept very hush-hush but of course, Bernice's return is a big deal as one of the soap's most loved characters' (pictured 2023) Samantha's character Bernice is said to be back in the Dales for Gabby and Vinny's wedding, with filming due to start in a couple of weeks (Rosie Bentham and Bradley Johnson pictured in April) In 2023, Samantha called time on playing barmaid Bernice Blackstock after 25 years. A source told The Sun at the time: 'Bernice Blackstock has been in and out of Emmerdale village more than they change the barrels at The Woolpack. 'She's always welcomed back with open arms by ITV and fans alike, but it's now becoming a bit of a running joke. 'It wouldn't pay to bet on whether Samantha will one day be back, but for now, she will leave the soap later this year.' During her stint on the show, Samantha's character was involved in a whole host of dramatic storylines, and she was awarded Best Soap Actress at the 2000 TV Quick Awards. She originally exited the show in 2002 before joining the cast of Hollyoaks in 2008 as Valerie Holden, a role she played for two years. Samantha then returned to the dales in 2012 for a seven-year stretch before leaving again to pen her children's book Rosemary and the Witches of Pendle Hill.

Jessie J's celebrity friends leave touching messages of hope amid cancer journey

Jessie J, famed for Price Tag, Domino and other tunes, has been diagnosed with early breast cancer and plans to have surgery following her performance at this month's Summertime Ball Jessie J has received messages of support from celebrity friends - including Rochelle Humes - after announcing she has cancer. The singer, 37, said she will have surgery after her performance at the Summertime Ball and remained optimistic she will return with more hits. However, she admitted she "needs a hug" through the difficult time, having been diagnosed with the breast cancer at an early stage. ‌ Friends quickly shared messages of support, telling the songwriter how much they love her. Humes, who presents The Hit List with husband Marvin, said: "We love you so much." Former Little Mix singer Leigh-Anne Pinnock added: "Sending you so much love" amid the flurry of public messages. ‌ And the rapper Wretch 32, whose real name is Jermaine Scott, said: "Continued strength and guidance, you're loved and you're cared for, you fight my gangster." Jessie J, born and raised in Chadwell Heath, east London, said in an Instagram video yesterday she has spent much of her recent time "in and out of tests". She stressed, though, she is "holding on to the word 'early'" and is looking at surgery in the coming weeks. But the musician, whose real name is Jessica Ellen Cornish, says she will still perform at the Capital's Summertime Ball at Wembley Stadium on Sunday June 15. She is on the line-up alongside the likes of Mariah Carey, Benson Boone and Tate Mcrae. Speaking in the Instagram clip, Jessie J said: "I just wanted to be open and share it... One, because, selfishly, I do not talk about it enough. I'm not processing it because I'm working so hard. ‌ "I also know how much sharing in the past has helped me with other people giving me their love and support and also their own stories. I'm an open book. It breaks my heart that so many people are going through so much similar and worse - that's the bit that kills me. "The timing of it has been mad but also beautiful and given me this incredible perspective in this time. But honestly I need to process it and talk about it and, I need a hug. You have loved me through all my good and hard times. And I don't want this to be any different." The singer, who won the Critic's Choice award at the Brits in 2011, welcomed her son, Sky Safir Cornish Colman, in 2023, having miscarried in November 2021. She has battled with ill health throughout her life, having been diagnosed with a heart condition aged eight, suffering a minor stroke aged 18 and having briefly gone deaf in 2020. Claire Taylor, chief nursing officer at Macmillan Cancer Support, said: "Receiving a cancer diagnosis is a life-changing moment for anybody and our thoughts are with Jessie and her family. "Her openness in sharing her story will not only bring comfort to others who are facing a similar situation, it will also raise vital awareness of breast cancer and the importance of early diagnosis. We know that diagnosing cancer early can mean treatment is more likely to be effective and potentially less complex."

Aimee Lou Wood and Walton Goggins on ‘ridiculous' feud rumours

There has been speculation that the two co-stars had drifted apart after being on the HBO show, which follows the lives of guests and staff at a luxury resort as dark secrets are revealed and tensions rise over the course of the holiday. The third series sees the positive Chelsea, played by British actress Wood, 31, try to keep her mysterious older boyfriend, Rick, played by 53-year-old US actor Goggins, calm in Thailand. Following the 2025 series, Goggins appeared to step away from his fellow co-stars, and unfollow Greater Manchester-born Wood on Instagram. They both addressed the swirling rumours during a joint interview for US publication Variety, which was published on Wednesday. Goggins said: 'There is no feud. I adore, I love this woman (Aimee) madly, and she is so important to me.' He added that 'she's special', and explained he had not addressed the reports before as he did not want to talk about Wood when she was not there. 'I think it's such a comment on where we're at culturally. Why is everyone obsessing over Instagram? That is irrelevant. We don't give a shite about Instagram,' Wood said. Goggins said that when he finished The White Lotus he 'needed to just back away from everyone', as it is his 'process' when filming a project ends. 'It's all so ridiculous,' he said. 'It's just a part of me just saying goodbye to this character so that now Aimee and I will be friends for f****** ever.' Wood previously criticised a Saturday Night Live sketch, with an cast member impersonating her with exaggerated prosthetic teeth, calling it 'mean and unfunny' on Instagram. She told Variety that it 'felt misogynistic. It felt like the punchline was a woman's appearance, which is just not funny. It's not cool'. Goggins shared the same sketch online and praised Jon Hamm for playing a version of his character, before deleting the Instagram post, ahead of hosting SNL> He said he was 'gonna say it (something) to your face', and added: 'I don't use social media in any way, and I'm not a mean guy.' SNL apologised for the April sketch, according to Wood, and the comedian and cast member who impersonated her, Sarah Sherman, sent her flowers to apologise. Wood is also known for Netflix teen show Sex Education, BBC comedy Daddy Issues and the 2022 drama film Living with Bill Nighy. Goggins has been in Western series Justified, post-apocalyptic series Fallout, and drama Sons Of Anarchy. He has had two Emmy nods, while Wood has won a TV Bafta for Sex Education and been given a Rising Star Bafta nomination.
