Actor Nandini Kashyap ARRESTED For Allegedly Killing 21-Year-Old Student In An Accident

Assam actor Nandini Kashyap was arrested by Guwahati police on Wednesday after she allegedly killed a 21-year-old student in a hit-and-run accident. She has been charged with culpable homicide not amounting to murder, rash and negligent driving, and destruction of evidence.
'The actress was officially arrested around 1:30 AM on Wednesday. We have added Section 105 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) in the case," police officials were quoted as saying by local news network Gplus.
As reported by NDTV, the accident occurred in Guwahati's Dakhingaon area around 3 am on July 25. The victim has been identified as Samiul Haque, a student at Nalbari Polytechnic, who also used to work part-time for the Guwahati Municipal Corporation.
Reportedly, the student returning home when a Scorpio, allegedly driven by the Assamese actor, ran him over. The 21-year-old was rushed to a nearby hospital. His family shared that he suffered severe head injuries and multiple fractures in both his legs. However, he soon succumbed to his injuries.
If eyewitnesses are to be believed, the actress did not stop to check on the victim and instead fled the scene. The family has also alleged that the Assamese actor promised to fund his medical treatment but never showed up at the hospital.
While Kashyap's car has also been seized by the police officials, she has denied any involvement in the case as of now. Further investigation is underway.

To carry out the plan, he enlisted the help of Madar by blackmailing him over his relationship with a person from another community,' Belagavi superintendent of police (SP) Bhimashankar Guled said on Saturday. The three had allegedly purchased pesticide from a shop in Munavalli village on July 18. 'To execute the plan, the accused roped in a student related to Patil and offered him ₹500 and snacks to mix the pesticide into the school's water tank,' SP Guled said. 'To prevent the student from identifying the substance, the pesticide was transferred into a plastic soft drink bottle. After mixing it into the water inside the tank, the boy discarded the bottle nearby,' the SP said, adding that the bottle was a key piece of evidence that helped investigators uncover the crime. Police traced the shopkeeper from whom the pesticide was purchased. 'Based on the shopkeeper's account, the three accused were detained. During interrogation, they confessed to the conspiracy and were arrested,' Guled added. The accused have been booked under Section 123 (causing hurt by means of poison) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and are remanded to judicial custody. Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah on Sunday condemned the incident, describing it as a 'heinous act' rooted in communal hatred. 'Religious fundamentalism and communal hatred can lead to heinous acts, and this incident, which could have resulted in the massacre of innocent children, is a testament to that,' Siddaramaiah wrote in a post in Kannada on X. Odisha police arrests two interstate burglars from Delhi
Agency: PTI Last Updated: Bhubaneswar, Aug 3 (PTI) The police on Sunday arrested two persons from New Delhi after they allegedly committed burglary in the house of an income tax officer here, an official said. According to police, the duo allegedly robbed 230 grams of gold ornaments and cash from the official residence of an IT department officer inside a colony on July 21 this year. Around 10.30 am on July 21, when no one was present in the house, the burglars entered the building by breaking open the main door. They had stolen 230 grams of gold ornaments and cash from there, said Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Police Commissioner S Dev Datta Singh. In the course of the investigation, it was found that the interstate burglary gang was involved in the case. The two accused persons were arrested in Delhi, and Rs 18 lakh in cash was seized, he said. The accused persons were active in Odisha, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh and other states of India, he said. The seized cash is almost equivalent to the cost of the stolen gold. The seized money will be handed over to the victim, Singh said. NASA Astronaut Back In Orbit 20 Years After Bihu Dance On International Space Station
NASA astronaut Mike Fincke is currently aboard the International Space Station (ISS) as part of the newly launched SpaceX Crew-11 mission. This isn't his first time in orbit. His return to space brings back a special memory of the time he danced Bihu in zero gravity.
