Russian mum living in a Karnataka cave with two daughters defends her choice, and the internet reacts: ‘She should write a book!'
Life of a mother inside the jungle cave
Police stumbled upon the scene on July 9 during a routine patrol after a landslide. Clothes hanging outside a cave sparked their curiosity, and what they found next became national news.

Turns out Kutina's visa expired way back in 2017. She had entered India on a business visa, travelled to Nepal, and then re-entered the country. Since then, she had been 'difficult' about disclosing details related to her passport and children's documents, authorities said.

Despite the paperwork drama, Kutina told news outlets that her family had previously lived in four different countries before finally settling in India in 2017. According to her, they were not struggling to survive, they were thriving in the wilderness. She described a life filled with pottery, swimming in waterfalls, painting, and daily meditation.

Kutina insisted that her daughters were not suffering. In fact, she believed they were 'very happy.' No screens, no city noise, just nature. She even revealed they had lost a son in Goa but chose not to discuss the specifics of the daughters' birthplace. Authorities now have them in a detention centre for foreigners while the Russian embassy works on deportation.
Internet reacts
As the story spread across X (formerly Twitter), netizens had thoughts—and a lot of them. One user wrote, 'This story is unbelievable,' while another declared, 'She should write a book.' Some dubbed her the 'Jungle Mom,' others expressed concern, but most were simply fascinated.

3 dead, 7 injured as passenger bus targeted in Balochistan
World Kalat, July 16 (UNI) At least three people were killed and seven others sustained injuries after unidentified assailants opened gunfire on a passenger coach travelling from Karachi to Quetta near a checkpost in Balochistan's Kalat, police said on Wednesday. This is the second such attack in less than a week in the restive province, which has witnessed a deadly year with scores of fatalities due to terrorist attacks, Geo news reported. The attack occurred when the bus approached Nemargh Cross near Kalat district. The assailants, who were waiting on top of nearby mountains, first opened fire and then hurled hand grenades at the vehicle, as per reports. The vehicles that run on this route carry approximately 40 to 50 passengers. However, the exact number of passengers on board the targeted bus remains unknown. Balochistan government spokesperson, Shahid Rind noted that security agencies, district authorities, and rescue teams reached the scene immediately. The wounded were transferred to the Qalat DHQ Hospital, where an emergency has been declared. Security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to pursue the assailants, Rind said, adding that the attackers are still at large. "Initial reports suggest that the attackers were waiting to strike. They closed the street from both sides," he added. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has strongly condemned the terrorist incident, which he said was carried out by the Fitna al Hindustan — a term used for terrorist organisations in Balochistan. 3 threats for Golden Temple on 3rd day; SGPC chief to cops: ‘Wake up'
Amritsar: The committee that manages the Golden Temple on Wednesday received three fresh threat emails warning of an attack at the iconic Sikh shrine, taking the number of such messages to five within just 36 hours and sparking demands for quicker action. The latest threats came even as police were yet to trace the origin of the first email that was sent on Monday. Amritsar police commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said they had obtained some IP addresses, and the content of the emails suggested they had been sent from a south Indian state. "We are ensuring security and there is no need to worry," he added. Bhullar's assurances, however, did not calm down Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) president Harjinder Singh Dhami, who asked the police and state govt to "wake up". "We informed the police immediately after receiving the first email, but there has been no concrete response. If such threats don't alarm the govt, what will?" he said. Dhami criticised the silence of Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann and Amritsar MP Gurjit Singh Aujla, saying they too had gotten the emails. Citing the deployment of Border Security Force (BSF) personnel around Golden Temple, Dhami called it a deliberate attempt to create fear and reduce the number of people visiting the shrine. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Lợi ích khi giao dịch CFD Bitcoin IC Markets Tìm hiểu thêm Undo "It seems like an orchestrated effort to terrorise the sangat (community). If not, then why hasn't the source of the emails been traced yet? Any govt with basic cyber capabilities can trace an IP in an hour," he added. Dhami said they had activated their own cyber teams, but the responsibility lied with the state. "Culprits must be exposed without delay," he added. Shiromani Akali Dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal, Punjab BJP chief Sunil Jakhar and Punjab Congress president Amrinder Singh Raja Warring have expressed concern over the threat emails. Badal urged both Punjab and central govts to conduct a thorough investigation into the emails to apprehend the culprits, while Jakhar termed the threats a "symbol of the Punjab govt's failure".

Senator Adam Schiff hits back after Trump accuses him of ‘ripping off America' but did he game the system for a tax break?
Donald Trump is once again aiming his fire at Senator Adam Schiff. In a post on Truth Social, Trump claimed Schiff is a "scam artist" and accused him of a "sustained pattern of possible mortgage fraud." He says the Democratic Senator should be "brought to justice" for allegedly misleading lenders to secure better mortgage terms. Trump's comments came after the Federal Housing Finance Agency reportedly sent a criminal referral to the Justice Department. The case centres on Schiff's Maryland home, which he listed as his primary residence in 2009, despite previously declaring it a secondary home and representing California in Congress. "Adam Schiff said that his primary residence was in MARYLAND to get a cheaper mortgage and rip off America, when he must LIVE in CALIFORNIA because he was a Congressman from CALIFORNIA," Trump accusation is based on a rebate Schiff claimed for his California property, which requires the residence to be a "true, fixed, and permanent home" under state law. Schiff responded swiftly, calling the accusations a weak political smear. "Since I led his first impeachment, Trump has repeatedly called for me to be arrested for treason. So in a way, I guess this is a bit of a letdown," Schiff said in a statement on X. "This baseless attempt at political retribution won't stop me from holding him accountable. Not by a long shot." — SenAdamSchiff (@SenAdamSchiff) He continued, "This is just Donald Trump's latest attempt at political retaliation against his perceived enemies. So it is not a surprise, only how weak this false allegation turns out to be. And much as Trump may hope, this smear will not distract from his Epstein files problem."A spokesperson for Schiff also stated that the lenders were fully aware of his year-round use of both homes and that neither property was a vacation first reported on the mortgage questions in 2023, but experts say Schiff is unlikely to face charges. California's property laws are open to interpretation, and there's no evidence of deliberate a senior administration official told the New York Post the matter could lead to charges. "It is extremely serious and [Schiff] is not taking it seriously," the official said. "The senator could face a criminal count for each time he paid his monthly mortgage bill."Trump added more fuel during a White House press briefing, saying, "I would have thought he covered his bases a little bit better than that. Adam Schiff is a low-life, he deserves what he gets."This is just the latest chapter in a long political fight. Schiff was central to Trump's first impeachment trial in 2020, accusing him of abusing power to pressure Ukraine into investigating Joe Biden. Trump has targeted Schiff repeatedly ever was later censured by House Republicans for his role in promoting claims of Russian collusion, and remains a favourite Trump mortgage allegations come at a time when Trump is facing multiple legal battles of his own, including fallout from the Epstein files and ongoing civil fraud for Schiff, he's keeping busy. According to Quiver Quantitative, his net worth is currently $1.9 million. He has around $761,000 in publicly traded assets and raised $1.2 million in campaign funds last quarter. He has over $7 million in cash on also been active on legislation, proposing bills on reproductive rights, gun control, and government the noise, no formal charges have been filed. The Justice Department has declined to comment. Schiff insists he has nothing to hide. Trump, meanwhile, is doing what he does best: stirring the this goes anywhere legally is still unclear. What is clear is that, in this deeply polarised political era, old rivalries never really die. They just reload.
