MandS has launched a new sandwich with a controversial filling that has left shoppers divided, with some saying they are "passing" on the new lunch treat
Marks & Spencer has sparked a heated debate among shoppers with its latest "not to be missed" sandwich, featuring a rather unconventional filling.
The Strawberry and Creme sandwich, launched on Wednesday (June 25), consists of ripe strawberries and whipped cream cheese nestled between two slices of sweetened bread. According to M&S, this unique creation draws inspiration from Japanese "sweet sandos" or fruit sandwiches, which have been gaining popularity in London's trendy Japanese patisseries.

M&S explained: "Inspired by the Japanese sweet sandos, recently spotted popping up in London's trendiest Japanese patisseries, our product developers have long dreamed of creating a dessert sandwich."

The company added: "With our exclusive Red Diamond Strawberries at their juiciest best, the time has finally come to create the ultimate strawberries and creme experience."
They envision the sandwich as a perfect treat for various summer occasions, from alfresco lunches to afternoon tea at home or a sweet pick-me-up, reports the Manchester Evening News.
However, not all shoppers share M&S's enthusiasm for this novel sandwich. On the Facebook page Bargain Lovers and Deals, Debbie Lyle expressed her reservations: "I'll pass on that. In cake maybe, but not bread."
Tanya Campbell-Gillies was more blunt, stating: "Gross. Surely it will make the bread soggy."
Um Ahmad Hussain chimed in, saying: "It looks nice but I don't think it will taste nice."

However, not everyone is convinced by the bread-based treat, with some suggesting that there are more suitable alternatives for this fruity snack.
One customer, Marguerita Bryan, suggested: "Between slices of Victoria sponge would be better, not bread!" Another shopper, Tel Rose, chimed in with: "Should have been sandwiched in between two scone like pieces in the shape of bread. But while some shoppers say they will be avoiding the fruit-filled sandwich, others say they are eager to try the limited edition item.Responding to MandS's Instagram post, blogger Vickie Neave wrote: ".
Despite some customers expressing their intention to give the fruit-filled sandwich a miss, others are keen to sample the limited edition offering.

Reacting to MandS's Instagram post, blogger Vickie Neave exclaimed: "Whaaaaattttt! ! ! ! I have not got time to be chasing around after this."
Fellow blogger Faye Gooding was more enthusiastic, writing: "Oh my, this looks incredible."
MandS has a long-standing reputation for sandwich making, having first sold freshly made sandwiches back in the 1920s before introducing pre-packed sandwiches in the 1980s. The retailer has since sold a staggering four billion sandwiches.
The limited edition Red Diamond Strawberry and Creme sandwich can be snapped up in MandS food halls for £2.80.

If You're Only Buying One More Pair Of Linen Trousers This Summer, Make It This One

By now, you've probably heard plenty about the best linen trousers on the sartorial scene, from COS to H&M and Arket. But we're here to make the case for one more pair - not just because they've been spotted on fashion's It-girls (which they have), but because they're incredibly practical and endlessly versatile. And when balmy temperatures make wearing your favourite jeans feel near impossible, you'll be glad to have them on standby. Let us introduce you to Abercrombie & Fitch's Linen-Blend Pull-On Pant - the ultimate blend of elevated minimalism and easygoing summer cool. You're probably wondering what sets these linen trousers apart from the countless others lining the high street. Not only is the cut and drape great (delivering that effortless, elevated silhouette), but they also come in playful, trendy prints that offer a welcome departure from the muted tones and clean lines of other minimalist versions. From a graphic criss-cross gingham to a coastal-cool seashell motif, they're exactly the kind of effortlessly cool staple you'd spot on the fashion set lounging in Positano or wandering the streets of Palma. 1. Linen-Blend Pull-On Pant - Gingham While styling these boldly patterned trousers might seem like a challenge at first, they actually slot seamlessly into a capsule wardrobe. Think perfect white tees, crisp button-downs, or a simple tank (COS has an extensive offering of ribbed tanks) for that easy breezy feel. Alternatively, when temperatures peak, consider pairing them with a bikini top for that off-duty model edge; an excellent choice for all-inclusive alfresco dining or poolside lounging, especially when styled with oversized sunglasses and delicate gold jewellery. If, however, you're leaning toward a more minimalist approach, opt for the black or brown iterations instead. They offer the perfect base for experimenting with printed tops and statement blouses - no fear of clashing necessary. For footwear, sandals are non-negotiable, and to stay firmly on trend, make it a toe-ring pair. But snap these trousers up fast - the white and blue striped versions are already practically out of stock. 2. Linen-Blend Pull-On Pant - Black Sleek, timeless and endlessly versatile, Abercrombie's black linen trousers are the kind of summer staple you'll reach for on repeat. 3. Linen-Blend Pull-On Pant - Seashell Equal parts playful and polished, this seashell-print pair are perfect for beachside strolls, sunset dinners, and everything in between. 4. Linen-Blend Pull-On Pant - Brown Understated but far from boring, this rich brown pair is the versatile neutral you'll reach for time and time again. So the DAZN presenter's 9.2million Instagram followers were grateful for Diletta sharing serene snaps. The wife of ex-Liverpool keeper Loris Karius is covering the huge tournament. And she chose a backless, sleeveless white top for her pics as she wrote: "Club World Cup Show! Let's go." Diletta also ditched her bra - but hopefully not her brolly, given the downpours besetting the CWC. The Italian opted for pinstripe black trousers as she tantalised her admirers with behind-the-scenes pics and clips from the studio. And whereas the weather for the CWC has been unpredictable, the opposite is true for the reaction to Diletta's snaps. Amid all the much-expected excitement, the 33-year-old was called "quite possibly the prettiest human being I have ever seen!" And even though we're only midway through the tournament, all bets are already off for one enthusiast. More foreseeable fervour flowed in as she was praised for doing a "brilliant job". One observer surveyed Diletta's minimal blouse and concluded: "It's going to be cool with this top" after surveying Diletta's minimal blouse. "Fantastic and beautiful" as well as "gorgeous" were other verdicts. Just days earlier Diletta had shared a fun contrast to her elegant studio look - as she posed in a bikini in a Miami swimming pool. She was floating on an inflatable pink flamingo.
