VPN fans rushing for free £50 Amazon voucher thanks to stellar NordVPN offer

Daily Record7 hours ago
NordVPN is offering a range of deals on its VPNs for a limited time - and it includes giving away Amazon vouchers
For a limited period, Brits can bag a fantastic deal on VPNs from NordVPN, which is not only useful for accessing websites whilst on holiday and streaming your favourite shows but also comes with Amazon vouchers when purchasing its two-year packages.
The Plus package from Nord includes a superfast VPN, an ad and tracker blocker, and the NordPass programme, ideal for password storage. This comprehensive package will set you back £83.76, but Nord will provide a £20 Amazon voucher 30 days after purchase.
Alternatively, there's the Ultimate package, priced at £129.83, which includes 1 TB of cloud storage and offers £5000 cyber insurance against scams or ID theft. A £50 Amazon voucher will be given to shoppers 30 days after purchase.

The great thing about NordVPN is that it works with PC, Mac, iPhone, Android and many devices to help shoppers watch what they want - where they want as well as save money on flights, products and many more.
There are plenty of alternatives to choose from, as well. ExpressVPN, another one of our favourites, costs slightly less for its two-year deal at £4.03 a month with four months free. However, there's no freebies included. There's also ProtonVPN which is a similar price to Nord and ExpressVPN at £3.59 a month.
There have also been glowing reviews for NordVPN. One reviewer said: "I've been using Nord VPN for many years now and have always found it to be fast and efficient. Any queries I have are always answered rapidly."
Another shopper added: "This VPN is among the best and also provides good protection".
Our sister paper the Daily Express also put NordVPN through its paces - and it stands as one of the finest VPNs they've tested. Expert tester Aaron remarked: "NordVPN is astonishingly good. For VPN newcomers, NordVPN's gorgeous apps offer an unintimidating way to get to grips with a Virtual Private Network, while experts will be able to unlock the true power of brilliant features like Double VPN, VPN Kill Switch, and MeshNet.
"Connections with NordVPN are rock-solid, with no dropouts or timeouts during the months that we've relied on this stellar VPN to keep our personal information shielded away from prying eyes, hackers, and advertisers."
Nevertheless, he did observe that Nord had an impact on download speeds but nothing drastically noticeable. He continued: "Sure, NordVPN has a more substantial impact on download speeds than ExpressVPN, which we'd still recommend as the best VPN for streaming. But in normal usage, NordVPN still offers a good internet speed - even when connected to a server location on the other side of the planet."

Brit investors face triple-whammy of taxes at Budget, Tories warn

Measures such as removing a tax break on shares, scrapping the £500 tax-free dividend allowance and increasing dividend tax rates will dent confidence, they say. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 2 'The Government needs to urgently rule out these tax hikes on savers and investors', warned Shadow Chancellor Mel Stride Credit: Getty An estimated five million people would be dragged into paying dividend tax if that allowance went. Shadow Chancellor Mel Stride said: 'The Government needs to urgently rule out these tax hikes on savers and investors before speculation causes further economic harm.' Labour last night laughed off the jibes. A spokesman said: 'They have some brass neck. They've still not apologised for the damage caused by the Liz Truss mini-Budget.' The Chancellor opened the door to painful tax hikes after a week of Labour chaos, which saw her break down in the Commons and lose control of key spending plans. In her first public comments since the dramatic scenes in Parliament, Ms Reeves admitted the Government's retreat on welfare cuts had blown a multi-billion-pound hole in the public finances — and taxpayers would be left to fill the gap. Pressed on whether she would raise taxes, she said: 'Of course there is a cost to the welfare changes that parliament voted through this week and that will be reflected in the budget. 'But I'm also very, very clear that [the] stability that we've been able to return to the economy, which has enabled the Bank of England to cut interests rates four times, is only possible because of the fiscal discipline which is underpinned by the fiscal rules. "And we'll be sticking to those because they're absolutely vital for the living standards of working people and also the costs that businesses face.' Broadcom launches Jericho chip to advance AI data center networks

SAN FRANCISCO, Aug 4 (Reuters) - Broadcom's silicon division launched its next-generation Jericho networking chip on Monday, which is designed to connect data centers over 60 miles (96.5 km) apart and speed artificial intelligence computation. The company's Jericho4 introduces and improves several features that increase the amount of networking traffic speeding across large networks that operate inside and between data centers. Building and deploying artificial intelligence has become more computationally intensive and requires stringing together thousands of graphics processors (GPUs). Cloud computing companies such as Microsoft (MSFT.O), opens new tab and Amazon (AMZN.O), opens new tab require faster, more sophisticated networking chips to ensure data moves efficiently. Security when transferring data beyond the physical walls of a data center is crucial for cloud companies because of the potential attacks that could intercept it ahead of reaching its destination. Broadcom's engineers designed the Jericho chips to be deployed at a massive scale, and a single system can encompass roughly 4,500 chips, according to Ram Velaga, senior vice president and general manager of Broadcom's Core Switching Group. To help mitigate issues around network congestion, the Jericho4 chips use the same high-bandwidth memory (HBM) designers such as Nvidia (NVDA.O), opens new tab and AMD (AMD.O), opens new tab use for their AI processors. It's necessary because of the volume of data that needs to be stuffed into memory at any given moment of operation. "The switch is actually holding that traffic (in memory) till the congestion frees up," Velaga said. "It means you need to have a lot of memory on the chip." The longer the distance the data must travel from the chip to its destination, the more memory designers must include in the chip as well. In addition to performance improvements, the Jericho4 also beefs up security by encrypting data. Broadcom opted to use TSMC's ( opens new tab three nanometer process for the Jericho4.
