Far-Right Influencer Brands MAGA the 'Biggest Scam in History' Following Trump's Push to Move On From Epstein: 'The Liberals Were Right'
Conservative media personality and self-admitted white supremacist Nick Fuentes ranted about the Trump administration and MAGA on Thursday's episode of his podcast, repeatedly insulting the 47th President and denouncing the movement he had once been a supporter of.
Fuentes lost his cool and began maligning the Trump administration over their handling of files pertaining to disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein, files which the administration has repeatedly refused to release despite their own supporters calling for their publication.
"And now [Trump] says if you're not on board with the Epstein coverup, 'Oh I don't want your support, you're a weakling...' F--k you. You suck. You're fat, you're a joke, you're stupid, you're not funny, you're not as smart as you think you are," Fuentes began.
"If you watch my show you know I've been very critical, I've never been this far. This just goes to show, this entire thing has been a scam. We're gonna look back at MAGA movement as the biggest scam in history. The liberals were right. The MAGA supporters were had. They were," he continued.
"When we look back in history we will see Trump as a scam artist who served as a vehicle for this rather than the other way around. We were not the vehicle for Trump, Trump was the vehicle for all of us," he concluded.
Social media users took to online platforms to weigh in on Fuentes' rant.
"Why do I have to be agreeing with this horrible person on a Thursday morning," said one user.
"Wow, Trump even lost the Nazi's," said another.
"lol 😂, those f--ks just realized something that we knew for at least a decade," a third added.
"Nick Fuentes is somehow less cultish than people like Tim Poll and Charlie Kirk who immediately stopped talking about Epstein when Trump said so," a fourth chimed in.
"This is just occurring to him? I've known since the day he rode down that escalator," another added.
President Trump took to his social media platform, Truth Social, on Wednesday to disavow his own supporters who had been calling for the release of the Epstein files.
"PAST supporters have bought into this 'bulls---' hook, line, and sinker," he said in the post, adding, "Let these weaklings continue forward and do the Democrats work, don't even think about talking of our incredible and unprecedented success, because I don't want their support anymore!"

Spain's Sanchez told Monday's meeting that: "Our societies face a real threat led by a coalition of interests between oligarchs and the far-right" -- a coalition of "hatred and lies that is advancing dangerously." Lula, for his part, said the leaders present in Santiago agreed on "the need to regulate digital platforms and combat disinformation." The topic is also at the heart of Brazil's ongoing clash with Trump's administration, which has targeted a judge who is involved in Bolsonaro's coup trial and has made a number of rulings against platforms and individuals spreading falsehoods on line. Conservative Bots on X Post Mixed Messages As MAGA Divide Over Epstein Case Deepens
The case of disgraced financier and sex offender Jeffrey Epstein has come back into the spotlight in recent weeks as Americans demand the Justice Department to release materials on its investigation. But as President Trump seeks to bury the topic, clashing with a significant portion of his base, MAGA followers seem divided on how to move forward. That confusion has been clearly evident in a previously unreported network of hundreds of accounts on X that use artificial intelligence to automatically reply to conservatives with positive messages about people in the Trump administration. What once consisted of a network of 400 identified bot accounts sharing a positive chain of messages and support to the Trump administration has now turned into a mix of posts calling for Attorney General Pam Bondi to be held accountable for her involvement in the case, reflecting the MAGA base's own confusion with the matter. The network was tracked for NBC News by both the social media analytics company Alethea and researchers at Clemson University. While the study identified 400 accounts, the actual amount of bots in the network could be much larger. The accounts used to offer consistent praise for Trump and key figures in his administration, particularly support for Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy and White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt. While the researchers did not provide specifics on how they identified the accounts, they noted a number of distinct trends. All were created, seemingly in batches, around three specific days last year. They frequently punctuate their posts with hashtags, often ones that are irrelevant to the conversation. They post almost exclusively by replying to other users, often to people who pay X for verification and by repeating similarly worded sentiments over and over in short succession. At times, they will respond to someone's post by repeating it back to them verbatim. Since last year, the bots have shown consistent support for Trump , including in the lead-up to the election, and then afterward as he was preparing to take office. But earlier this month, when Attorney General Pam Bondi announced she would not release additional Epstein files, the accounts' messaging has become split, with some accounts telling different users opposite opinions almost concurrently. For instance, one account wrote on July 15, "retweet if you believe Pam Bondi should be held accountable for her actions relating to Epstein's case and the FBI rollout. Let's bring justice! #PamBondi #Epstein #FBI #MAGA." An hour later, the same account replied to a post in support of the Trump administration, writing, "Epstein and Maxwell went to prison, proving that our justice system works. Those videos mentioned by Pam Bondi were not blackmail material but rather Epstein's private collection. #FactCheck #JusticeSystem" Another account declared that when Bondi said she would not release additional files, she "comes out clean as the DOJ confirms no Epstein client list found, while reaffirming his death by suicide." Since then, it has told multiple people on X that they should engage in full revolt against the Trump administration. "Retweet if you believe that Trump and his cronies are lying to the public and treating us like we're stupid. We won't be fooled by their games," it posted Friday. It's unknown who is behind this network, or what the accounts' prompts are. However, they appear to be trained on real MAGA social media accounts, whose messages tend to be more unified, said C. Sharn Eib, Alethea's head of investigations. "This split reaction mimics the organic reaction among supporters of Trump's second administration," Eib told NBC News. "it's possible that the behavior of these automated accounts is influenced by content posted from prominent influencers, and this shift is reflective of the general change in tenor among many of Trump's supporters." How Trump Turned His Truth Social App Into A Megaphone
Donald Trump has turned his obscure Truth Social platform into a megaphone in his second presidential term -- constantly posting everything from major policy announcements to personal threats and unashamed self-promotion. To mark his first six months back in power, Trump unloaded around 40 posts Sunday on the app he owns and can use unfettered by moderators, censors or fact-checkers. The deluge was characteristic of the way he has transformed Truth Social, despite being a minnow in the social media world, into the White House's primary means of communication. AFP analyzed over 2,800 Truth Social posts by @realDonaldTrump from his inauguration on January 20, 2025 up to July 20 to get a better idea of how the Republican communicates. Sidelining the White House press office, the president speaks straight to his hardcore base, posting an average of 16 messages a day, many in all-caps rants peppered with exclamation marks and the odd expletive. Although Truth Social is tiny compared to X, Trump can post to 10.5 million followers knowing that he is being followed by the media and political establishment, with much of what he says quickly being reposted to rival platforms. Trump repays the favor, helping to create a right-wing media ecosystem that invariably circles back to him. Since January 20, he has shared Fox News articles 101 times, and the New York Post and Breitbart News 51 times each. "The minute he puts something on Truth Social, others pick it up and echo it," said Darren Linvill, a social media and disinformation specialist at Clemson University in South Carolina. In his first term, Trump relied in a similar way on what was then known as Twitter -- renamed X on being purchased by Elon Musk. But after Trump's attempt to overthrow his loss in the 2020 election, he was banned by Twitter and Facebook and briefly persona non grata in Washington. Although once more present on the bigger alternatives, Trump continues to prefer Truth Social. The posts vary wildly in content, all part of Trump's brand of mixing politics with entertainment. And the style deliberately mimics Trump's verbal ticks -- the bombast, salesmanship and exaggeration. "Vladimir, STOP," he posted on April 24, after Russia launched an especially heavy bombing of Kyiv. Russian President Vladimir Putin did not stop, but Trump's two-word plea earned heavy media coverage. Half of his posts used at least one exclamation point and 155 were written in all-caps. One post on March 23, promoting his cryptocurrency $Trump, read: "I LOVE $TRUMP -- SO COOL!!! The Greatest of them all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Trump's posts are a way for him to keep the public on its toes and to change the narrative by giving journalists a new "rabbit hole" to follow when needed, said presidential historian Alvin Felzenberg. The leader of the world's biggest economy knows investors are paying equally close attention. As markets plunged following Trump's tariffs announcements, he used Truth Social on March 10 to pump out articles predicting optimistic economic outcomes. On April 9, just as stock prices were tanking, he posted: "THIS IS A GREAT TIME TO BUY!!!" And hours later, he announced a 90-day suspension of additional tariffs against dozens of countries, triggering the best day for the S&P 500 index since the recovery from the 2008 financial crisis. The timing led to accusations from Democrats of an insider trader scheme. "Truth Social doesn't quite have the firepower that I think Twitter had..., but it's still impactful enough that it can at times move the market," says Stephen Innes, managing partner at SPI Asset Management.
