SAIL Shares In Focus As Q4 Net Profit Jumps 9x Sequentially To Rs 1,251 Cr, Dividend Announced

SAIL Share Price: The Board of Directors have recommended the Final Dividend @ Rs.1.60 /- per equity share of Rs.10/- each for the Financial Year 2024-25.
Sail Share Price: Shares of Steel Authority of India Limited (Sail) are in the spotlight after PSU declared a net profit of Rs 1,251 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2025. It reflected a jump of 11 per cent year-on-year from Rs 1,125 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year.
On a sequential basis, the steel major posted almost 9x gain from Rs 141.69 crore in Q3FY25.
The rise in the profit of SAIL came due to improved performance across key steel plants and decrease in input costs.
The company's earnings per share (EPS) also reflected this growth, rising to Rs 2.85 from Rs 0.30 in the previous quarter and Rs 2.45 a year ago.
EBITDA for the quarter stood at approximately Rs 3,781 crore, slightly lower than Q4 FY24 but notably higher than Q3 FY25, showing an improvement of about 58% sequentially. EBITDA margin came in at 12.9%, dipping slightly year-on-year but improving significantly from 9.76% in the previous quarter. Net profit margin also saw an uptick to 4.02%, as compared to 3.62% in Q4 FY24 and just 0.51% in Q3 FY25, indicating better cost control and operational efficiency during the quarter.

On Wednesday, shares of SAIL settled in green at Rs 128.80 apiece with a gain of 0.19 per cent on BSE. It opened at Rs 128.45 apiece, against the previous day close at Rs 128.55 apiece.
For the financial year ended March 31, 2025 (FY25), Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) posted a slight decline in its overall performance compared to the previous year. The company reported revenue of Rs 1,02,478 crore, down 2.7% from Rs 1,05,375 crore in FY24. Profit after tax (PAT) stood at Rs 2,148 crore, a drop of 21.4% year-on-year. As a result, earnings per share (EPS) fell to Rs 5.20 from Rs 6.62 in the previous year.
EBITDA for FY25 was approximately Rs 11,764 crore, down around 4.2% from Rs 12,279 crore in FY24. The EBITDA margin saw a minor dip to 11.48%, compared to 11.65% last year. Net profit margin also came down to 2.10% from 2.59%, indicating some pressure on profitability despite a relatively stable operational performance.
SAIL Dividend 2025
The Board of Directors have recommended the Final Dividend @ Rs.1.60 /- per equity share of Rs.10/- each for the Financial Year 2024-25 (16% of the paid up equity share capital of the Company). The said Final dividend for FY 2024-25 will be paid within 30 days from the date of approval by the Shareholders in the ensuing Annual General Meeting, the date of which will be intimated in due course.

Patna: CM Nitish Kumar on Monday laid the foundation stones for six projects worth Rs 766.73 crore to provide road connectivity in the western Patna. The projects were announced during his Pragati Yatra in the Patna district conducted earlier this year. The six projects include four roads, a flyover and an underground drain-cum-road. Three separate functions were held to lay the foundation stones. The first function was held near Patna AIIMS roundabout, the second one near Kothwan Rupaspur canal and the third one on Nehru Path below the Patli road. "The roads, whose foundation stones have been laid, are not only meant to ease the traffic movement in the western Patna that is developing fast, but also provide smooth movement of traffic from J P Setu, Patliputra station, Danapur, Gola Road, Saguna Mor, Naubatpur, Khagaul and Patna AIIMS localities towards Biharsharif," the CM said on the occasion. "They will also give a boost to economic activities and social development in the entire area, as it has been developing fast," he added, and asked the officials to ensure that the projects were completed in time. Among those who accompanied the CM on the occasion were deputy CM Samrat Choudhary and MLC Rabindra Kumar Singh, as well as CM's principal secretary Deepak Kumar, development commissioner Pratyaya Amrit, CM's secretary Kumar Ravi, road construction department secretary Sandeep Kumar R Pudukalkatti, Patna division commissioner Chandrashekhar Singh, Patna DM Thyagarajan SM and SSP Kartikeya K Sharma, among others. At the AIIMS roundabout function, the CM laid the stone for the widening and strengthening of the two-lane 10.5 km Patna AIIMS-Janipur-Painapur Nev road, which would involve expenditure of Rs 138.50 crore. The foundation stone for a flyover to be constructed at Naubatpur Lakh with an investment of Rs 73.06 crore was also laid. At the second function held on Kathwan Rupaspur canal, the CM laid the foundation stone for the construction of 6.9 km four-lane road to provide a link to the Khagaul-Nehru Path, Ashok Rajpath and Rupaspur canal road. It would involve an expenditure of Rs 71.48 crore. The third function was held below Patli Path. From here, the CM laid the foundation stones for a group of three projects. One of them is the construction of a link road to connect Digha-AIIMS-Patli road with Nehru Path on the side of Danapur, which will be completed with an investment of Rs 148.86 crore. The second is construction of an underground drainage facility-cum-road on both the sides of 2.7 km from Rupaspur canal and Saguna Mor up to Nehru Path, whose completion would require an investment of Rs 318.51 crore. The third project related to widening and strengthening of the 2.20 km road between Nehru Path and Gola road will be completed at an expenditure of Rs 21.35 crore. Taj Hotels parent and hospitality arm of the Tata group, Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL), acquired 51 per cent equity stake in two companies that operate 135 hotels under the Clarks Hotels and Resorts brand for Rs 204 crore, it said in an exchange filing late on Monday. The two companies include ANK Hotels Private Limited, which has a portfolio of 111 midscale hotels and Pride Hospitality Private Limited, which operates 24 hotels across India. IHCL will acquire majority shareholding in ANK Hotels for Rs 110 crore and in Pride Hospitality for Rs 94 crore. The transactions are expected to be completed by November this year. 'The transactions aim to address India's heterogeneous market landscape and provide deeper geographical penetration across India in the midscale segment while continuing to pursue its asset light growth strategy,' IHCL said in its filing to BSE on Monday evening. The announcement was issued after market hours. India's largest hospitality firm by market capitalisation at ~1.06 trillion saw its shares rise by 1.65 per cent to close at Rs 746.65 on BSE. ANK Hotels Private Limited operates and manages hotels under the umbrella of The Clarks Hotels & Resorts which include brands of Clarks Inn, Clarks Inn Suites and Clarks Inn Premier. Of the total 111 hotels in its portfolio, 67 are operational. The company has a turnover of Rs 14.32 crore in FY25. Pride Hospitality Private Limited also operates and manages Clarks Safari, Clarks Collection, Clarks Resort that also fall under The Clarks Hotels & Resorts. Of the total 24 midscale hotels, 13 are operational. This company had a turnover of Rs 18.94 crore in FY25.
