Will Josh Brolin's Thanos Return for a Future MCU Project? — GeekTyrant

Geek Tyrant02-07-2025
Thanos may have been snapped out of existence at the end of Avengers: Endgame , but don't be surprised if the Mad Titan rears his purple head again in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Reports have started circulating that Marvel is planning to bring back the villain.
The rumor originated from @MyTimeToShineH, a scooper with a track record of accurate leaks, who claims Thanos will reappear in a future MCU project. Given where the Multiverse Saga is heading, there are a couple of likely candidates: Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars .
Both films are shaping up to be multiversal mega-events and in the case of Secret Wars , fans are already hoping for a moment straight out of the comics where Doctor Doom wipes Thanos off the map.
So what does Josh Brolin think of stepping back into the role that made him the most menacing villain in the MCU? He's open to it—under the right conditions. He said last year:
'I'm not kidding — there's a thing with playing Thanos. It's like, 'Oh, they're gonna bring Thanos back.' It's like Sicario; it has to be right. Again, it's what in his mind fits, what in my mind fits. Thanos has to fit if you're going to bring him back. I would do anything that the Russos wanted me to do.'
And when asked if Marvel Studios had already reached out to him? Brolin didn't say yes… but he did cough. Interpret that however you want, but fans know that kind of dodge all too well.
The Multiverse gives Marvel a blank check when it comes to reviving old characters. We've already seen multiple Thanos Variants in What If...? , and that sandbox only gets bigger in the upcoming films. If Marvel wants Thanos back on the battlefield, there are plenty of ways to make it happen, and none of them require undoing his Endgame demise.
It helps that Avengers: Doomsday is shaping up to be one of Marvel's biggest ensemble films yet. Alongside MCU mainstays like Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Mackie, and Tom Hiddleston, the cast includes returning legends like Robert Downey Jr. and Patrick Stewart, plus newcomers from the Fantastic Four, Deadpool & Wolverine, and X-Men franchises. With the Russo Brothers back at the helm and Stephen McFeely scripting, the scale here is massive.
Avengers: Doomsday drops December 18, 2026, followed by Avengers: Secret Wars on December 17, 2027.

On Friday, Aug. 1, the actress and singer shared the lead single from her forthcoming ninth studio album, "Fast." Alongside a propulsive electro-pop beat, they sing: "I wanna go fast / I wanna go hard / I wanna go anywhere, anywhere you are.' Alongside the track, Lovato, 32, dropped a music video, which was directed by Daniel Sachon and features the Camp Rock star strutting at night through the street while cars are set on fire, clubgoers wait in line and people run around in their underwear. At one point during the video, the "Confident" hitmaker saunters by five TV screens that reference some of their iconic memes, including the time they sang "Skyscraper" to a ghost in Unidentified; "Poot," the 2015 Tumblr image of Lovato that spawned a fictional backstory; responding to a fat-shaming commenter; revealing their favorite dish is "a mug;" and a throwback to their "Disney knees" from Camp Rock. Last month, Lovato's executive producer Zhone told Rolling Stone that her next album would be "celebratory dance-pop." 'It's been so inspiring working with Demi and experiencing her journey of continued leveling up. She is such a master in the studio," he told the publication. Added Zhone: "This album is about letting inhibitions go, and we had so much fun making this music! It really comes across throughout." On July 9, Lovato began teasing her new musical era, initially wiping her Instagram clean of all but two posts. "I'm not so sure, I've ever felt like this before,' they captioned a single photo. In the image, Lovato was pictured on a studio floor with a white backdrop, sporting a black mini dress with her back away from the camera. They also glanced over their shoulder to give the camera a sultry look. Lovato shared another teaser the following day — a music video captioned, 'it feels so right.' In the clip, they could be seen walking toward the camera, mouthing the lyrics to the sexy song while donning a leotard, stockings and an oversized jacket. She appeared fresh-faced with her hair in a tousled, wet look. In September 2024, Lovato revealed on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon that she was working on a new album and 'kind of figuring out my sound right now." Lovato's last album release was Revamped — a remix project — which was released in 2023. Read the original article on People

Kim Kardashian Reacts to Anthony Hopkins Comparing SKIMS Face Wrap to Hannibal Lecter

Kim weighs in after Hopkins, 87, shared a hilarious video, in which he rocked her brand's new Seamless Sculpt Face Wrap, and impersonated his famous Silence of the Lambs character. Kim Kardashian's brand SKIMS is raising eyebrows for its latest drop -- and it's even caught the eye of screen legend Anthony Hopkins. On Tuesday, the shapewear and clothing brand released the Seamless Sculpt Face Wrap, which, per SKIMS, is "made with signature sculpting fabric and infused with collagen yarns for ultra-soft jaw support." The product -- which retails for $48 -- is already sold out. The face wrap received mixed reviews online, with many sharing their reactions in the comments section of SKIMS' Instagram post -- and quite a few of them making connections to Hopkins' most famous role. "What in the Hannibal is this?" a user commented, while another added. "State of the world in shambles, people dying … Kim: New Hannibal Lector Nylon face wrap just dropped!!!" "Is it April Fools?" another user asked, as still another lamented, "CAN WE LET WOMEN LIVE OMG." The hilarious comparison to Hopkins' Silence of the Lambs role, Dr. Hannibal Lecter, was even brought up by the actor himself, who epically impersonated his famous character in a funny Instagram video -- and he even managed to get his hands on the face wrap, wearing it for the clip -- Who knows? Maybe Kim sent it over herself! "Hello, Kim. I'm already feeling 10 years younger," Hopkins, 87, said creepily, diving back into character, before making the cannibalistic psychiatrist's slurping noise. "Thank you, Kim. Don't be afraid to come over for dinner," he joked in the caption. Fans loved Hopkins' video, taking to the comments section to praise the Oscar winner for joining in the gag. "Great actor with a great sense of humor! 😂👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾," wrote one user. "This could be the best Instagram post ever made," a second person shared, while another fan commented, "THIS is why the internet was invented. Amazing Sir Anthony! 😂." And the clip even caught the eyes of Kim and her family, with Kim, her sister, Khloé, and their mom, Kris Jenner, taking to their Instagram Stories to react. "I'M SCREAMING!!!!!" Kim, 44, wrote, resharing Hopkins' video. Khloé commented in her post that she was also "screaming," while Kris expressed that she found the clip hilarious, writing, "🤣🤣omg." Reed Richards Won't Be the Center of AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY, But He's Still Key to the Story — GeekTyrant

As The Fantastic Four: First Steps launches Phase 6 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, many fans assumed Pedro Pascal's Reed Richards would become one of its central figures. But according to a recent Variety report, Avengers: Doomsday may not spotlight him as heavily as expected. While Pascal's Mister Fantastic is described as having an 'integral role' in the upcoming ensemble film, the report clarifies that 'Pascal is not the centerpiece' of Doomsday . That might surprise those who saw First Steps and its high-stakes post-credits scene, which teases Doctor Doom's interest in young Franklin Richards, Reed and Sue Storm's super powerful son. That moment seemed to set the stage for a major multiversal conflict, one where Reed would naturally take the lead to save his son. But it sounds like that story might play out alongside a much broader narrative. Pascal's co-stars Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach weren't mentioned in the report, so the scope of their roles in Doomsday remains unclear. What is clear is that Doomsday won't be centered around just one team. In addition to the Fantastic Four, the film will bring together the New Avengers, Sam Wilson's team, and a version of the X-Men featuring legacy actors from the Fox universe. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has also teased even more surprise casting announcements on the horizon, adding to an already massive ensemble. The article that revealed Pascal's status also touched on broader casting strategies and actor compensation, noting that Marvel icons like Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Hemsworth 'won't be working at a discount' to return. Without an established Avengers roster since Endgame , Doomsday is shaping up to be more of a crossover epic than a character-driven core story. Unlike Endgame , which focused tightly on the original six Avengers, this new chapter will have to split time among multiple major groups. With the script still being adjusted and some actors unsure whether their roles are even finalized, this is very much a story still in flux. Even so, don't count out Reed and his team. While they may not anchor the entire film, the Fantastic Four's journey will remain essential to the larger multiversal narrative.
