MasterChef Australia fans notice bizarre detail in the show after fan favourite's heartbreaking elimination

Daily Mail3 days ago

Fan favourite Rue Mupedzi ended her MasterChef Australia Back to Win season with a heartbreaking elimination this week.
But according to one eagle-eyed viewer, the 'dessert queen' had more than her fair share of screen time before hanging up her apron.
The dedicated fan, who shared his findings on Reddit, noticed that it has been Rue who has been featured in the confessional spots 71 times over the last five weeks.
Featured throughout each show, the short segments have contestants sharing their feelings about each challenge as the action in the kitchen unfolds.
And according to one fan, Rue has been featured 71 times in the 'confessional'.

The viewer also calculated and ranked each one of the other contestants over the last five weeks including the remaining players.
Coming in behind Rue with 56 appearances in the confessional was Ben Macdonald, followed by Laura Sharrad on 50.
Audra Morrice and Callum Hann scored 48, according to the enterprising fan, while Sneznana Calic has appeared 44 times in the confessional.
Sharing their findings to Reddit with a chart showing the name of the contestant and how many times they appeared in confessionals the user's share sparked online commentary about Rue's appearance on the show.
'Rue got way more screen time, even after an episode, of all the remaining contestants,' commented one viewer on the thread.
Another joked, 'I won't be surprised if she remains in the top 10 despite not even making it through halfway through the competition. Queen!'
It comes after Rue Mupedzi says she is setting herself up for a career in the culinary world after her shock elimination from the Back to Win season on Tuesday.
Instead of hanging up her apron for good, the 29-year-old dental hygienist is planning on becoming a pastry chef.
Rue, who is known as the 'dessert queen' by fans, announced she plans to head to Europe to pursue her dream as soon as possible.
'My vision board is to go to France and gain work experience in the pastry world for six months to a year, as well as explore Europe,' she said in a new interview with Yahoo Lifestyle on Wednesday.
The WA-based kitchen star said her long-term plans included opening her own pastry shop.
Elsewhere, Rue opened up about her return to MasterChef after her headline making appearance on the show in 2023.
'I still wanted to work really hard and do well, but the most important thing to me was to have a good time,' she said.
'Coming back was like riding a bike. It felt like I never left! I integrated back into the kitchen so quickly.'
Rue suffered the heartache of a second MasterChef Australia elimination this week after a tricky pudding failed to impress the judges.
Rue, Tim, Audra and Sarah were tasked with remaking Variations of Sourdough and Strawberry with Elderflower and Balsamic dessert from O.MY restaurant's Blayne Bertoncello.
In the end, it was the dessert queen herself who was sent home over her grainy crème pâtissière.
In tears, Rue told the judges that it had been an honour cooking for them and being on the show for a second time around.
'Just being called back among such amazing chefs made me realise I'm also part of the great people,' she shared.

Neighbours star Madeleine West reveals she feels like a 'smashed vase' as she details life with newborn after welcoming seventh child at age 47

Madeleine West welcomed her seventh child last month. The 47-year-old is adjusting to life with a newborn, telling The Sunday Project this weekend that while she is looking well on the outside, it's a different story behind the scenes. 'It's all smoke and mirrors. I'm just a smashed vase that someone has wrapped up with gaffa tape' she joked. 'Don't put flowers and water in me as it will leak straight back out.' The Neighbours actress continued: 'I'm on auto pilot. I'm deep in the delirium. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. 'At 3am I got up for a glass of water and decided it was time to scrub out the fish tank and bake a cake, which is what I did.' Madeleine was on the show to promote her partnership with the Federal Police, which has seen her produce It's Never Too Early, a guide book to keeping kids safe. 'This is so personal for me. It's things that I think most parents would never have considered. Asking yourself really simple but ultimately important questions, like, who will I allow to change my baby's nappy?' she explained. 'If I'm letting someone babysit, who else will have access to that child? Perfect example. If you let a good friend babysit, are they dating someone you don't know well? If he comes over to visit, they get up to answer the phone, am I comfortable with that person having unsupervised time with my child? 'If I look at babysitting, will there be other children in the house who have access to my child? If I'm looking at daycare centres, how can I find one that's government endorsed where everyone's been certified so I know my child is safe? 'Questions that when we're in the thick of early parenting, and we're exhausted, and on the cusp of delirium, it is hard to know the day of the week, let alone important decisions of how to best secure safety.' Madeleine announced the arrival of her seventh child in April, sharing a glimpse at her newborn in an Instagram post and revealing the bub was in excellent health. Alongside a truncated image of the child, she star wrote: 'Earthside at last… and utterly perfect'. The Australian actress did not reveal the sex or name of her new arrival at the time. It comes after Madeleine opened up about her seventh pregnancy at the age of 47. The star already shares five daughters and one son with her ex-partner, celebrity chef Shannon Bennett. In a preview for an interview on 60 Minutes, West said she is not letting naysayers get to her and is determined to keep 'dancing to the beat of my own drum'. She said many people were shocked to learn she was pregnant with yet another child at her age, but she was also 'surprised' by the sheer amount of support she received. 'There was a lot of shock, naturally. And then, "Are you sure? You're at this point in your life. Your career is blossoming. You've got all these kids,"' West told host Tara Brown. 'But I am surprised by so many people who have reached out saying, "I've done what you're doing and I felt so alone. I felt like everyone would see me at the playground and they would think I'm grandma."' When asked if she had ever been called a 'grandma at the playground', the actress responded: 'Oh yeah, naturally. But my argument has always been I've always danced to the beat of my own drum. 'I've always done things a little bit different. A little bit outside the norm.' West revealed the response she received from her friends after she announced her pregnancy in January. The TV star—who shares Phoenix, 19, Hendrix, 16, Xascha, 14, Xanthe, 12, and twins Xalia and Margaux, 10, with Shannon, 49 - said her pals' initial reaction to her pregnancy news was surprise. 'When I first reached out to my circle and revealed the big news, there was certainly a look. A bit of a stunned mullet, I would say,' she shared. However, she added the shocked expression was soon followed by 'wow' as her friends asked if she was going to 'keep' the baby. The controversial question also opened up a conversation about 'geriatric pregnancies' and the risks which come with them, which she expanded on in her interview with Stellar Magazine. 'I strive to not see motherhood as a limitation on my capacities,' she told the publication, but rather something that 'adds to it exponentially'. She went on to say while falling pregnant certainly wasn't something she was expecting, it was a welcome surprise nonetheless. 'I feel like this little person has come along at the best possible time when I'm so very ready,' she said. West went on to say she now has 'more time, wisdom and experience' when it comes to parenting. Reflecting on what is often coined as a 'geriatric pregnancy' she expressed her frustration with the world's lack of conversations around later pregnancy. West said it's not something 'society discusses at large' despite 'the very real fact that the rate of women having babies in their 40s is increasing'. Back in January, West announced she was pregnant with her seventh child a decade on from her most recent birth. She revealed the surprising news in an Instagram post. In the photo, she flaunted her growing baby bump in a tight-fitting tank top which was lifted to reveal her bare tummy. 'WHOOPS!' she captioned her post. 'Thought it was #perimenopause. I thought WRONG! It's not too much Christmas pudding either. I couldn't be happier.'

EXCLUSIVE Brides at war! Married At First Sight stars in frosty feud as they clash over fur coat at fan meet-up event: 'Tone deaf'

They came for the selfies and stayed for the subtle shade. What was meant to be a cheerful Married At First Sight fan meet-up in Melbourne took an awkward turn when brides Natalie Parham and Jacqui Burfoot found themselves on opposite sides of a fashion-fuelled fallout. Witnesses didn't notice a scene - but behind the scenes, things got frosty fast. Daily Mail Australia can reveal Natalie, who paired on the Nine series last year, took issue with Jacqui's choice to wear imitation fur, calling it out as 'tone deaf' given recent backlash aimed at co-star Carina Mirabile for similar styling. 'She called her out for wearing imitation fur - [and] promoting the fur trade,' a spy revealed. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. 'Not sure why you'd wear it after all the Carina backlash, but that's just me - I'm no fashionista.' Jacqui, who had only purchased the garment the day before, was reportedly left upset by the unexpected criticism. Natalie admitted she 'pulled a face' and later felt compelled to apologise 'in advance' to co-star Clint Rice for how she handled the situation. 'She [Jacqui] was upset since she bought it yesterday and I pulled a face,' Natalie told Daily Mail Australia. 'I already said to them I disapprove of their throw stones mentality.' Despite the awkwardness, Natalie made it clear she wasn't interested in playing nice for appearances, instead choosing to spend time with friend Lyndall Grace. 'I wanted to hang out with Lyndall and I got to do that - if I don't like someone I don't associate with them,' she added bluntly. It comes after Carina hit back at an animal activist after she was slammed for wearing a 'fur coat' to Australian Fashion Week last month. Bailey, who runs the account Warrior For Animals, shared images of the reality TV star in the ankle-length 'vintage' coat, claiming she 'defied' the event's no animal skin rule. Carina later posted to her own social media page to assure followers the shaggy brown jacket she purchased in Brooklyn is actually faux fur. The debacle kicked off when Bailey shared a collage of Carina in her fur coat next to news AFW had 'banned all wildlife materials' from runways. The second time Carina mentioned wearing fur came during an interview with Daily Mail Australia when she was asked about her outfit. 'Yes this is my own 'fit. I bought this fur coat from New York in Brooklyn and I've got SKIMS on underneath and literally pantyhose stockings,' she said. Carina wore a nude SKIMS 'Ultimate Butt' bodysuit beneath the coat, opting for a look inspired by Kim Kardashian. While the bride has not directly referenced Bailey's accusations, she later shared a post to her Instagram Stories saying the coat is not real fur. 'It's not real fur FYI and my stylist uses vegan products,' she captioned an image of her look. Carina's makeup artist Angelina Jade commented beneath saying: 'She a vegan baddie.' The budding fashionista also made a statement to Chattr, reiterating she was not wearing real fur. 'It's not real fur, bought from a vintage store in New York. I wouldn't wear anything that's not ethically sourced,' she says. She went on to say it was 'worrying' to see people jump to conclusions so quickly. Carina later posted to her own social media page to assure followers the shaggy brown coat she purchased in Brooklyn is actually faux fur 'People are so quick to judge in this day and age and it's worrying and detrimental on people's lives,' 'We are not robots. If people have nothing nice to say, they shouldn't say anything at all. 'There is already enough cruelty in the world, people shouldn't add to it, but try and make it a better peaceful place.' Daily Mail Australia has reached out to Carina for further comment, as well as the Australian Fashion Council to verify any complaints made. AFW banned all wildlife-derived materials, including fur, exotic animal skins and feathers, from being used on runways this year and in the future.

MAFS star Lauren Dunn reveals her ex-boyfriend Ryan Crowley is living just 1km from her Perth home after being granted bail over domestic violence charges

Married At First Sight star Lauren Dunn has revealed that her ex-partner, retired AFL player Ryan Crowley, is now living just 1km from her Perth home after being released on bail following recent court proceedings. Dunn, who appeared on the 2024 season of the hit reality dating show, took to Instagram on Saturday to share her reaction after Crowley, 41, was granted bail last week. Crowley faced Perth Magistrates Court on Thursday over domestic violence-related charges stemming from an alleged incident at a property in Claremont on Tuesday. During the hearing, the court was told that the pair had a five-year on-off relationship between 2018 and 2023. Crowley, through his legal representative, denied the severity of the claims and disputed the physical allegations made against him. He was released on bail after a $20,000 surety was provided and was ordered not to leave Western Australia. As part of his bail conditions, he is prohibited from contacting Dunn. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. On social media, Dunn shared her reaction to the situation with her 246,000 Instagram followers. 'My ex found someone to pay his $20k bond and the WA courts released him to a residence 1km away from my home in Perth,' she wrote. 'This is a good indicator for how our justice system values the lives of women,' she added, thanking WA Police for their ongoing support. She also responded to online comments questioning her past decisions. 'Not that I owe anyone an explanation ... His newest tactic is telling me he's dying and has no one and is at the lowest point of his life' she said. 'I am not a monster and I was in a moment of weakness so I said [he could] come over to talk about it...' During Thursday's court proceedings, it was alleged that a verbal disagreement took place after Dunn invited Crowley over. The court heard that tensions escalated following the discovery of email messages on her laptop, which prosecutors claimed led to a physical altercation. According to police allegations presented in court, Dunn called emergency services but reportedly hung up, saying the call was made in error. Prosecutors alleged that during the incident, Dunn's phone was taken, and she was prevented from leaving the home. Further allegations presented in court included claims of physical restraint and that Dunn lost consciousness during the encounter. Crowley is accused of remaining at the residence overnight and of allegedly preventing her from leaving the following morning. It was also alleged that Dunn escaped via a bathroom window and sought refuge at a nearby café, where she messaged a friend. Police later arrested Crowley at Perth Train Station. Crowley is expected to reappear in court on July 24. No pleas have been entered, and the matter remains before the courts.
