The CBSE class 10th and 12th examinations began on February 15 and concluded on March 18 and April 4, respectively. Class 10th students achieved a passing percentage of 93.66, whereas 88.39 per cent of students passed the Class 12th examination.
Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the students of classes X and XII on Tuesday, who cleared their CBSE examinations after the results were announced.
The PM also encouraged those who were disappointed with their results, noting, ' One exam cannot define you.'
Sharing a post on his official 'X' handle, PM Modi mentioned the students' determination, hard work and discipline. He also congratulated the parents, teachers, and others who contributed to helping the students achieve this feat.

Meanwhile, 91 per cent of girls have passed the CBSE class 12th examinations this year, 5.94 per cent more than the boys. On the other hand, 95 per centage of girls passed the CBSE class 10th examination, which was 2.37 per centage more than the boys. A total of 22,38,827 students appeared for the examinations, out of which 20,95,467 students passed. (ANI)

Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan has defended the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE)'s plan to conduct Class 10 board exams twice annually from 2026, saying it will not dilute the process but reduce stress. He maintained that the school education system is competent enough across the country to handle the two examinations. 'India has over 60 school boards, and there has never been any concern about their competency. The examination structure is not putting pressure on the education system. The decision to conduct board exams twice a year is not to dilute the process, but to reduce stress among students,' Pradhan said at ABP News education conclave on Monday. Pradhan said that the National Testing Agency conducts the Joint Entrance Examination twice annually, allowing students to choose their best score. 'Building on this idea, we are introducing a similar approach for Class 10 board exams. ...students will have the option to appear for the board exam twice a year and retain their best score. A CBSE draft policy in February proposed Class 10 board exams twice in an academic year from 2026, in line with National Education Policy 2020 recommendations. It was made public on February 25, and March 9 was the deadline for feedback submission. The policy said CBSE Class 10 board examination 2026 for 26,60,000 students in 84 subjects will be held in two phases in 34 days. The 18-day first phase will be from February 17 to March 6, and the 16-day second phase from May 5 to May 20.

Speaking in Switzerland during his official visit, the commerce and industry minister said, "This situation serves as a wake-up call for all those who have become over-reliant on certain geographies.' "It's a wake-up call for the whole world that you need trusted partners in your supply chain," he added, according to news agency ANI. Goyal further acknowledged that China's restrictions on rare earth exports will create short-term challenges, especially for India's automotive and white goods sectors. However, he expressed confidence that joint efforts by the government, industry, and innovators can turn these challenges into long-term opportunities. He laid out a detailed plan to address the situation. Starting April 4, new Chinese rules require special export permits for seven rare earth elements and related magnetic products. "There are clearly issues around the suspension of permanent magnet supplies from China to India, which will particularly affect our auto sector and several white goods manufacturers," Goyal said. Patna (Bihar) [India], June 10 (ANI): Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo and former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav on Tuesday criticised Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, alleging a failure of law and order under his government and claiming that over 65,000 murders have taken place during his tenure. In a post on X, the former CM cited official statistics to claim that over 65,000 murders have occurred during Nitish Kumar's tenure. 'Does Nitish know, recognise and understand that during his rule, according to official figures, 65,000 murders have taken place? 65,000 people have been murdered, 65,000!', he wrote on X. Raising concerns over daylight crimes, Yadav questioned the state of policing in Bihar. 'Nitish should tell how many murders are taking place by breaking into houses before 5 p.m.?' he said. RJD Chief further added, 'Nitish-BJP has not only destroyed the law and order but has also cremated it. Bihar has never had such a corrupt, careless and lazy police.' Earlier, Tejashwi Yadav launched a sharp attack on the Nitish Kumar-led Bihar government, accusing it of failing on law and order and allowing the health system to collapse. Yadav said to reporters, 'Criminals are on the loose in Bihar. Many incidents are constantly coming to light, and the police seem helpless.
