Strictly Come Dancing star Saffron Barker was on holiday in Dubai with her boyfriend and her parents when disaster struck
Strictly Come Dancing star Saffron Barker was close to tears after suffering with another holiday disaster while in Dubai with her boyfriend Josh Miln and parents. The star was only recently robbed while she was in America, but her bad luck didn't end there as she opened up about the disaster incident that occurred in the United Arab Emirates.
The 24-year-old shared the update with fans on her YouTube channel and recounted accidentally losing her vlogging camera in the sea. Saffron surprised her parents with the yacht trip which started off well. However, her camera soon accidentally fell into the water leaving her close to tears.

Josh explained how a staff member picked up a nearby towel, with the camera slipping and falling overboard. Earlier in the clip, Saffron reiterated it wasn't the staff member's fault and it was accidental.
She said to fans: "It means I've lost all my footage and camera which I've obviously just bought because I got it stolen in the US. So that's another £1000 camera just gone.
"But for me, I think I'm so upset because it's every I vlogged this trip, it's before this trip. It's basically all my footage." She also filmed a scuba diver attempting to recover the camera in hopes the SD card would still work.
Josh later added to the camera: "The guy who went down, he saw the anchor and said it was dragging. So, we have moved since we docked. So the chances of getting the camera are very low."
In May, while Josh and Saffron were in the US, the YouTuber revealed armed men broke into her car and stole all her belongings while the couple were at a Peggy Sue's diner.

"I honestly can't leave the US right now and everything I had with me was completely stolen," Saffron said. "If I'm being honest, this trip has just not gone to plan at all. I've suffered the worst pain I've ever felt in my life.'
Everything, including their passports and medication, was stolen. 'It's not just the material things. It's everything we needed. We had nothing left, no ID, no medication, nothing," Saffron explained.
In her recent YouTube video detailing the 'nightmare' holiday, she stated: "We keep saying how lucky we are, we could have been held at gun point. These people could have been following us."

"I think honestly it happens quite often at Peggy Sue's. I know for a fact that if Josh had walked out and seen it you would have gone over there and they have guns and stuff here.
"So we are also very, very grateful that nothing like that happened to us and neither of us are hurt."

Strictly Come Dancing in talks with married reality TV star as BBC bosses back him to resist show's 'curse'

Strictly Come Dancing is reportedly in talks with a married reality TV star, as BBC bosses are convinced he won't fall victim to the show's infamous 'curse'. The so-called 'Strictly curse' has been a tabloid staple for over a decade - rooted in the idea that taking part in the show often spells trouble for contestants' relationships. Now, insiders reportedly claim producers are keen to sign none other than Paul Brunson. The clean-cut relationship expert is known for his roles on Channel 4 's hit shows Married At First Sight UK and Celebs Go Dating. The American star, who now lives in London, is seen as a safe option - and potentially just what Strictly needs following two drama-filled series. A source told The Sun: 'Paul would be the ideal tonic to the dark clouds over Strictly as he's clean-cut, very intelligent and has no scandals to worry about. 'They are now in discussion but he's met with producers a number of times. 'Everyone is hoping he'll sign on the dotted line and is keen to make it happen.' MailOnline has contacted the BBC and Paul's representatives for comment. It comes just days after a Gladiators star was rumoured to have signed up for this year's show after 'impressing' BBC producers on the Christmas special. The superhuman, 36, took part in last year's festive edition and was paired with professional dancer Nancy Xu. Nitro, whose real name is Harry Aikines Aryeetey, has reportedly agreed to appear on the regular series this autumn. A show insider told The Sun how the ex-Olympian had been on bosses' wish list for some time now. The said: 'Bosses have been desperate to get Nitro on the series for a while. 'They were in talks last year but couldn't get the timings to marry up with his work. 'He was a huge hit at Christmas prancing around in lycra and showing off his biceps. Producers were also impressed with his dancing. 'The Gladiators' fanbase is growing and kids love them so he'll be a hit with younger viewers, too.' MailOnline has contacted Nitro's rep and the BBC. Nitro previously hinted at a role in the main series when he revealed he would be taking part in the Christmas special with an injury. He told The Mirror: 'I am carrying an injury to some degree. It's been quite tough. I'm not my full self. Hopefully that's taken into consideration. But at the same time, I'm just here for a good time. I can dance, I can enjoy myself, that's the most important thing. 'Although I think we're going to do well and although I think we're going to have fun with it, it would be nice to do myself 100% justice by competing another time on the main series. 'It would be good to be in a position where I can show my ultimate self. I've got the bug. If the opportunity arises… it's obeing in an arena and learning a new skill. If the opportunity arises, I would jump at it, literally because I'll be able to jump by then.' Earlier this year Strictly Come Dancing confirmed the professional lineup for 2025. Dianne Buswell, who lifted the glitter ball in December with Chris McCausland, will be joining Nadiya Bychkova, Karen Hauer, Katya Jones, Neil Jones, Nikita Kuzmin, Gorka Marquez, Luba Mushtuk and Jowita Przystal in returning to the dance floor this September. Amy Dowden, who pulled out in the opening weeks of last year's show due to a foot injury, will also be back on Strictly for 2025, as will Carlos Gu and Kai Widdrington, who didn't have a celebrity partner last year. Despite rumours that he might be making a return after missing out on last year's series, Giovanni Pernice will not be heading back to the ballroom this time around. Sarah James, Executive Producer, BBC Studios said : 'The excitement is already building ahead of the new series and in addition to welcoming back our fantastic returning Pros, we are looking forward to welcoming two brand new Professional Dancers to the line up who will help bring another unforgettable series of dazzling dance and loads more besides to viewers later in 2025.'

Kate Phillips named permanent BBC chief content officer after interim role

Kate Phillips has been announced as the permanent chief content officer of the BBC, after she had been performing the role on an interim basis after predecessor Charlotte Moore announced she was leaving. It comes after Moore, who has been in the role since September 2020, announced in February she would be leaving the broadcaster later this year to join Left Bank Pictures as chief executive, and Sony Pictures Television as EVP, creative director of international production. Phillips said of the new role: 'Over the past few months, I have thoroughly enjoyed being more involved in the huge breadth of brilliant content that we produce across the UK and, of course, it's been great getting to know so many new people. 'This is one of the best roles in the business at an incredible organisation and I can't wait to get started.' Phillips, who has been in the role on an interim basis since February, has been with the BBC for 12 years, and was previously controller of BBC One, after leading its entertainment team and BBC Worldwide's formats team. Prior to joining the corporation she was a co-owner and director of formats company Mast Media. Announcing the news to staff, BBC director general Tim Davie said: 'Kate's passion for delivering world class content to our all audiences shines through in everything she does. 'Her experience with the BBC spans over 12 years and in that time she has brought innovation, outstanding creativity and an absolute focus on our audiences. 'She has a fantastic record of delivering creative hits which embody the best of the BBC.' The change comes at the end of a turbulent time for the BBC, and criticism of a documentary about Gaza that featured the son of a former Hamas deputy minister of agriculture, however the PA news agency understands Moore's departure is not connected to matters regarding the documentary. As director of unscripted, Phillips has been responsible for the overall commissioning strategy of entertainment, documentary, factual, arts and daytime shows among others. During her time as entertainment controller, Phillips commissioned shows such as Strictly Come Dancing, The Apprentice, Top Gear and Dragons' Den. She takes over from Moore, who has been with the BBC since 2006, starting as a commissioning executive for documentaries before she went on to become director of BBC content, responsible for the BBC's channels, BBC iPlayer and BBC Sports, from July 2016 to 2020. Between 2013 and 2016, she was controller of BBC One when the channel delivered hit shows The Night Manager, Doctor Foster, Three Girls, Peter Kay's Car Share, Blue Planet and Planet Earth. After her departure was announced, Moore said in a statement: 'It's been an honour to lead the BBC creatively as chief content officer at a time of unprecedented change, championing the very best British storytelling across radio and TV. 'I'm very proud of what we've achieved during my time at the helm, transforming our offer and supporting iPlayer to become the fastest growing streamer in the UK. 'I want to thank my colleagues, my brilliant team and all the incredible producers, directors, writers and on screen and on air talent who've made it such a thrilling ride.'
