Hollyoaks star ties the knot with her long-term fiancé in a lavish ceremony in Italy - three years after cancer battle
The actress, 31, who played Liberty Savage on the soap, took to Instagram to showcase her lavish romantic ceremony in Italy.
Abi was diagnosed with thyroid cancer after getting two lumps tested in her neck in 2022 and made a swift recovery the same year.
And now she has said 'I do' in front of her closest family and friends at the very same location the pair got engaged at in 2023.
They splashed the cash on multiple venues, which included a castle, and made the occasion extra special with a huge firework display.
The happy couple was seen posing in front of a picturesque backdrop as they graced the balcony of the Villa Cavazza in Modena.
Abi looked happier than ever as she flaunted her stunning white lace off-the-shoulder dress in snaps from her big day.
Meanwhile, the handsome groom opted for a traditional black three-piece suit.
The post featured a number of photos of Abi and Gav looking every inch the newlyweds as they posed in front of a picturesque backdrop.
In the caption, Abi wrote: 'Literally having to pinch myself these last couple of days because I can't quite believe that I was lucky enough to marry the love of my life surrounded by all of the most important people in our lives in our dream venues… @gavgilly we bloody it!!!
'Our wedding day was the best type of rollercoaster and we wouldn't have it any other way.
'Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to everyone who made the effort to come all the way to Italy to celebrate with us. We love you so much.'
'Also another HUGE thank you to all of our incredible suppliers who honestly now feel like family to us who made our day truly unforgettable.'
Abi first announced her engagement to her partner of 13 years in May 2023, and took to Instagram to share the happy news.
Abi posted a picture of herself showing off her dazzling ring as she posed in front of Italy 's Lake Garda after jetting off on holiday with her beau.
She captioned her post: 'So this happened last night!
'The most magical week in Lake Garda, with my favourite person in the world ended with us getting engaged.
'The most perfect proposal at sunset at the edge of the lake.
'The last 11 years together have been the best of my life and I'm so looking forward to forever together.
'Thank you for making this trip the most incredible week, it will forever hold a place in my heart. I love you so much!'
In 2022, Abi revealed she had been diagnosed with thyroid cancer last year after getting two lumps tested in her neck.
Abi told her followers at the time that she was originally told there was nothing to worry about by a doctor due to her young age, before asking for a second opinion after Love Islander Demi Jones raised awareness by sharing the location of her own tumours.
Former soap star Abi admitted she never expected to be told she had cancer, and said: 'So, I took these pictures before my scans and after my biopsy having a good old laugh about how ridiculously dressed up I looked in the hospital before a gig, not expecting for one moment to get the news that I did two weeks later…
She explained that she was originally told that the lumps were 'nothing to worry about' and she was likely just recovering from a minor illness.
Abi said: 'I'd previously been sent away from the doctors after having found two lumps in my neck, they'd passed it off and said I was 'young' and it wouldn't be anything and I was 'probably getting over a cold' or my body was 'fighting something off'.
'As much as that's what I wanted to hear I wanted to get everything checked for my own peace of mind.
'I booked in with a specialist and immediately she told me she was very concerned due to where my lumps were located and referred me for an urgent biopsy and scans.'
Abi went on to reveal that a consultant later confirmed the worst and told her that her cancer would need urgent surgery and radiotherapy treatment.
She added that she wouldn't have pushed to see a specialist if it weren't for Demi sharing her thyroid cancer ordeal on social media, and realised that their lumps were 'in the exact same place'.
Abi found fame on Hollyoaks at the age of 16 when she debuted as Liberty in 2010. She also famously wrote the song Missing You that featured in Steph Cunningham's death scene.
The character of Liberty Savage is now played by Jessamy Stoddart, who took on the role in 2018.

Safi Bugel's experimental album of the month
After establishing herself as a techno DJ in some of the wonkiest corners of underground dance music, Gwenan Spearing has spent the last few years settling into slower, more abstract territory. Alongside her club sets, she co-organises an ambient deep listening series in Berlin and spends her spare time experimenting with modular synthesis. Phase Space is the latest expression of this interest, a project rooted in generative electronics and real-time responses. Degrees of Freedom is Spearing's first outing under this new alias: an EP of meandering ambient tracks that blur the lines between electronic and acoustic as instruments are sampled, warped and overdubbed through her synthesiser. On the subaquatic opening track Sync, cowbells are stretched and delayed beyond recognition against a pulsing analogue rhythm. Towards the end of Some Pluck, a dense shimmer almost sounds like steel pans, but you get the impression it's something more elusive. Her improvisatory approach is the core of this album. Time signatures are varied and sounds are layered randomly by control circuits while Spearing tinkers along. What could just be friendly easy listening material is tipped off-kilter by these strange elements – and is all the better for it. Generator I, as uncanny as it is beautiful – much in the way that Mica Levi's film scores are – is where this approach shines most. The deep, woozy melody is enough to induce a dream-like state, but instead keys tumble around it. On Sleep Pressure, a self-styled 'lullaby for grownups', the soporific sequence is unsettled by the faint clatter of metal, which has the same soft dissonance of wind chimes, delicate but jarring. Even closer Generator II, the record's most straight-up atmospheric composition, is flecked with subtle fuzzy glitches. It's a lovely, drifting listen with just the right amount of curiosity and texture to keep you locked in. Pool Jams is the latest record by the Berlin duo INIT, made up of Nadia D'Alò and Benedikt Frey (R.i.O). As the name suggests, there's a summer sensibility here, but only in the most feverish sense: think smoky vocals, sluggish grooves and clouds of synths – hypnotic music for hot, late nights. On Openness Trio, guitarist and producer Nate Mercereau, saxophonist Josh Johnson and percussionist Carlos Niño join forces to create a collection of compositions that are as expansive and beguiling as the California hills and canyons they were recorded in (Blue Note). Another great collaborative effort comes from Brazilian sound artists Anelena Toku and Carla Boregas (Other People). Marking a decade of their multidisciplinary project of the same name, Fronte Violeta is both soothing and ghostly. Across the 10 tracks, soft, droning electronics are interlaced with whining vocals and samples of found natural objects including branches and feathers.

Johnny Gaudreau's sister opens up on wedding anxiety as she ties the knot one year after ex-NHL star and brother died on eve of her ceremony
Nearly one year on from an unthinkable and devastating family tragedy, Katie Gaudreau got the wedding she should've had last August were it not for a drunk driver. 11 months after the sudden and tragic deaths of NHL star Johnny Gaudreau and his brother Matthew, Katie got married to high school sweetheart Devin Joyce in a ceremony in New Jersey. At the end of last August, Johnny and Matthew were riding their bikes the day before Katie was set to be married when they were struck and killed at the ages of 31 and 29 respectively. Both brothers were set to serve as groomsmen in the wedding. Now, Katie and Devin tied the knot at St. Mary's Church in Gloucester City, New Jersey before crossing the Delaware River for a reception at The Bellevue Hotel in Philadelphia. After the wedding, Katie exclusively opened up to People Magazine about pre-marriage anxiety and how she was able to manage her grief over the loss of her brothers. 'It's hard to put into words how much has shifted and how much I've carried in my heart since last August,' she told the outlet. 'Back then, we were preparing with so much love and excitement. I remember the way John and Matty lit up — how genuinely happy they were to celebrate Devin and me. Their joy was radiant, effortless and contagious.' Katie said she was trying 'so hard to return to that emotional space, to honor the moment as [Johnny and Matthew] would have,' but knew that things would be different without her brothers. 'And I know, deep in my heart, that they would have wanted us to feel love — not just their love — but all of it: the kind that surrounds us, uplifts us and reminds us that we are not alone in any of this,' she explains. 'So today, I hold both the sorrow of their absence and the beauty of their presence. Their love didn't leave.' Devin told the outlet, '[We knew] this wedding would be completely different from what we planned last year — we're missing two of the most important people who should be here with us. It wouldn't be the same, but it would still be a celebration of love — ours and theirs.' Initially, the couple planned to host the reception in Philadelphia at The Lucy - a wedding venue in Center City. However, after re-scheduling due to her brothers' untimely deaths, she couldn't hold the ceremony there. 'I needed something different,' she told the outlet. 'The Lucy was never going to be what my dream wedding was because I was missing two essential pieces of our day.' Instead, the couple picked The Bellevue - which had an attached hotel. After the horrific events of the year prior, that became an important element for Katie. 'I wanted a space where we could all be together the night before — somewhere we could sleep over, wake up together, and just be, without having to leave or be separated,' Katie said, adding, 'I was having a lot of anxiety about everyone leaving the venue after the reception and something happening, so I wanted a space where we would all be together.' To help with the healing, over a dozen vendors donated their services for the ceremony and reception out of the kindness of their hearts. 'This past year has brought the kind of grief that changes you. Many days, the ache of missing them was so deep, it felt hard to breathe. But alongside that pain, there has also been immense and unwavering love,' Katie says. 'It is this love that has carried us through love from our tight-knit community, the hockey family, and from people across the country and even around the world.' She adds, 'It's impossible to describe what it means to feel that kind of support when your world has been shattered. But we felt it. And we still do. Our family will carry that love with us forever.'

Drake gives shocking response to 'F*** Kendrick' Lamar chant at London festival after brutal feud
Drake had a surprise reaction when his concert in London was interrupted by fans to bash his nemesis Kendrick Lamar on Saturday. The 38-year-old hitmaker (real name: Aubrey Drake Graham) was headlining Rockstar Energy's Wireless Festival with an unusual arrangement in which he headlined all three nights of the festival. And on night two, audience members interrupted one of his monologues to chant 'F*** Kendrick,' referring to Lamar. Even though the feud had seemed to recede from the spotlight in recent months, Drake — whose massive gambling losses were recently revealed — seemed happy to encourage the chant from the stage. has reached out to representatives for Drake and Lamar for comment but hasn't yet received a response. As the audience's chants grew more frenzied, Drake turned toward the backstage area and called to his head of security Chubbs, who was called out by name by Kendrick in Not Like Us. Drake's response to the crowd chanting "F*CK KENDRICK" at Wireless 👀 "Chubbs, grab me a shot, I'll drink to that." — NFR Podcast (@nfr_podcast) July 12, 2025 'Chubbs, grab me a shot. I'll drink to that,' Drake said, which was met with a wave of cheers from his fans, though he appeared to move on with the show from there. The hitmaker may have anticipated some anti-Lamar sentiment from the audience, as his intro seemed to leave an opening for his fans. Before the chant started, he bragged about how he was performing 'three different sets' with 'three different vibes' at the festival in London. 'You name another artist that can do that then bring them up here. We can clash right now. Anybody,' he said, though Lamar would have been the first thought for anyone family with their beef when he suggested a 'clash.' Drake also appeared to signal a falling out with Los Angeles Lakers player LeBron James in the wake of the NBA icon's apparent support of Lamar in their feud. Drake previously had a photo of LaBron on his left arm, but it was revealed to have been covered up with a new design of Oklahoma City Thunder player Shai Gilgeous-Alexander on Saturday. Earlier this year, Drake changed the lyrics to his song Nonstop from 'How I go from 6 to 23 like I'm LeBron' to 'How I go from 6 to 23 but not LeBron,' which fans interpreted as a jab at the basketball player, and he repeated the revised lyrics on Saturday. In January, fans speculated that Drake's Fighting Irish Freestyle was intended to take aim at LeBron when it surfaced on social media. Drake DISSES LeBron James at Wireless Festival 🚨 "6 to 23 but not LeBron" — NFR Podcast (@nfr_podcast) July 12, 2025 Drake also included a LeBron James diss after he appeared to support Lamar earlier this year. His LeBron tattoo was notably covered up with a new design of Oklahoma City Thunder player Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Drake and Lamar feuded with a rapid-fire barrage of diss tracks last year, culminating with Kendrick's Grammy-winning Super Bowl centerpiece Not Like Us, in which he provocatively called the In My Feelings rapper a 'pedophile.' He also took aim at several of Drake's regular collaborators and business associates in the song as well. Although the Canadian actor-turned-rapper had traded diss tracks with Lamar, and followed up Not Like Us the following day with The Heart Part 6 — a parody of a series of song titles his nemesis had previously released — he appeared to step back from the feud after Not Like Us became a chart-topping hit. The song's reception suggested that many music industry figures had turned against Drake when much of the audience at the 2025 Grammy Awards joined in to sing Not Like Us when it played as Kendrick's walk-up music as he was awarded the prestigious honors Record of the Year and Song of the Year. The song ultimately won five Grammys, giving it a tie for the most-awarded song of all time at the ceremony. Just days later, Lamar got to share his side of the feud when he hosted the Super Bowl LIX halftime show, which culminated in a performance of Not Like Us that included Drake's ex-girlfriend Serena Williams crip walking. Notably, the rapper censored himself when he got to his infamous line, 'Certified Lover Boy? Certified pedophiles.' However, it's unclear if that was done to avoid potential legal complications, or if it was a request by the broadcaster or the NFL. Drake had already filed a lawsuit against Universal Music Group, the parent company of both of their labels, due to what he said were the .
