Cromer held the athletic director position at Ohio University since 2019 and was named the 2024 NACDA Athletics Director of the Year. She also brings SEC experience from her stint at Arkansas as the senior deputy athletics director and associate vice chancellor.
At LSU, Cromer will oversee daily operations of the athletic department and collaborate with senior leadership across the university. She will serve as the head administrator for all 21 varsity programs as well as lead revenue generation, capital projects, strategic initiatives, and more.
Cromer joins a staff still led by athletics director Scott Woodward. She fills the role of Keli Zenn, who was named the athletic director at Rutgers. Zinn was hired by former LSU president William. F Tate, who took the same position at Rutgers.
Zinn was heavily involved with LSU's football program as well as the university's plans to build a new basketball arena. Cromer will likely work on similar projects.

LSU football is already practicing for week one showdown with Clemson
LSU football head coach Brian Kelly said the Tigers have already begun official practice for the week one battle vs. Clemson. LSU ranks No. 9 in the US LBM Coaches Poll while Clemson sits at No. 6. "Yeah, we started Tuesday, you know, working towards Clemson demo, if you will, scout, however you want to use the words. You know, we started to look at, you know, going up against their fronts and certainly their offensive structure. We began that on Tuesday," Kelly said. Kelly said this is earlier than when LSU began week one preparation last year. "I've had teams that I haven't started on an opponent until the last week because we had so many question marks about so many different parts of our offense, defense, and special teams. This one has been, I think, driven by the fact that we have some veteran players on both sides of the ball that allowed us to transition into our opponent a little bit sooner," Kelly said. What is the betting line for LSU football vs. Clemson? Spread: LSU +3.5 Total: 57.5

Where LSU QB Garrett Nussmeier's 2024 QBR ranks among returning SEC quarterbacks
LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier takes the reins of the Tigers' offense for the second-straight season heading into 2025. It's expected to be a strong year for quarterbacks in the SEC and Nussmeier is one of several returners with real experience. He stands out in one key statistic. Nussmeier's quarterback rating (QBR) from 2024 is the highest of any returning quarterback in the conference. Nussmeier's 2024 QBR of 79.0 finished fourth among SEC quarterbacks. He finished behind a top three of Ole Miss' Jaxon Dart (84.7), Alabama's Jalen Milroe (82.8) and Georgia's Carson Beck (80.9). Dart, Milroe, and Beck have all moved on. Dart and Milroe are in the NFL, and Beck is at Miami. That leaves Nussmeier as the top returner. The statistic encompasses a wide range of factors, including rushing yards, fumbles, downs, and distance, to measure a quarterback's success. Nussmeier led a strong offensive unit with top targets Kyren Lacy and Mason Taylor, but fell behind on the list due to his lack of rushing prowess. QBR is a fairly predictive stat and Nussmeier's ranking could spell big things for 2025. Ahead of his fifth season at LSU, Nussmeier is touted as one of the best passers in the country. Per BetMGM, he has the second-best odds to win the Heisman Trophy at +900, trailing only Texas quarterback Arch Manning (+600).

Clemson football's ranking in 2025 preseason AP Top 25 poll revealed
Only 19 days remain until the Clemson Tigers take the field on Aug. 30 for their much-hyped 2025 college football season opener against the LSU Tigers at Memorial Stadium. After the preseason US LBM Coaches Poll was unveiled last week, many argued that Clemson deserved to be ranked higher than No. 6 Monday saw release of the preseason AP Top 25 poll, and the media members who make up the AP's poll agreed with that sentiment. Clemson debuted at No. 4 in the AP poll, one spot below the reigning national champion Ohio State Buckeyes at No. 3 and one spot ahead of the No. 5 Georgia Bulldogs. Clemson was ranked ahead of two teams that landed in front of the Tigers in the Coaches Poll: Georgia and Notre Dame. The Fighting Irish were No. 6 in Monday's AP poll after being ranked fifth by the coaches. The Texas Longhorns earned the top spot in the AP poll, while Penn State was ranked No. 2. Besides Clemson, two other ACC teams cracked the preseason AP poll. The Miami Hurricanes debuted at No. 10, and the SMU Mustangs were ranked No. 16. Clemson faces SMU on Oct. 18 in Death Valley. Two opponents on Clemson's nonconference schedule were ranked in the top 15. LSU debuted at No. 9 in the AP poll, with rival South Carolina ranked No. 13 -- the same spot both teams landed in the Coaches Poll. Clemson was ranked No. 14 in last year's preseason AP poll. Behind Cade Klubnik's stellar 2024 season that included 3,639 passing yards and 36 touchdowns to only five interceptions, the Tigers went 10-4 and won the ACC for the ninth time under Dabo Swinney to earn a trip to the 12-team College Football Playoff.
