Auburn nearly sets conference record with 6 All-SEC selections
Six Auburn Tigers were tabbed as All-SEC performers after a historic baseball season on the Plains in 2025. Outfielder Ike Irish (First Team All-SEC), pitcher Samuel Dutton and second basemen Chris Rembert (Second Team All-SEC), freshman Chase Fralick and Bub Terrell (SEC All-Freshman Team), and third basemen Eric Guevara earned (SEC All-Defensive Team) helped make history for the Tigers, as the six representatives from Auburn were the second most ever in conference history.
The unquestioned offensive heartbeat of the Tigers, junior outfielder Ike Irish accumulated one of the best seasons in Auburn history from the plate. After missing some time in the beginning of the campaign, including the opening series of conference play, the Hudsonville, Michigan native raked his way to a .398 averaged, .480 on-base percentage, and .852 slugging percentage, to go along with 13 home runs and 92 total bases in SEC play. Each statistic ranked second in the conference.
On the mound, Auburn's lone pitching representive on the All-SEC team was senior Samuel Dutton. After spending his first three college seasons as an LSU Tiger, Dutton sparkled in his lone year as a member of Auburn, becoming the first Tiger starter to earn a spot on the All-SEC team since Casey Mize in 2018. After throwing just 87 2/3 innings through his first three seasons at LSU, the senior eclipsed the 75 innings mark this season, finishing with a dazzling 3.58 earned run average and a team-high 6 victories and 89 strikeouts.
Infielder Chris Rembert became the first Auburn's true freshman to earn All-SEC first or second team honors since Hunter Morris in 2008. A starter for the majority of the season, Rembert finished his inaugural collegiate campaign with a team-high .355 average and .485 on-base percentage. Both marks ranked the highest among freshman in the conference.
Fellow first-year contributors Chase Fralick and Bub Terrell joined Rembert as All-SEC athletes. The catcher and outfielder tied for second on the team in doubled (14) while Fralick provided key defense behind the plate all season long. Fralick ranked third among all Tigers in averaged (.344) and finished fifth with 39 RBI. Terrell was almost equally impressive on the offensive side, as he slugged his way to a .287 average and 33 RBI.
The lone Tiger on the All-SEC Defensive Team, third basemen Eric Guevara was fantastic on the hot corner all year long. The Panama native committed just 2 errors across 29 games this season, and saw his bat heat up towards the end of the campaign, as he earned SEC Player of the Week honors in the beginning of May.

Keith hits tiebreaking double in 8th as Tigers regroup to beat White Sox 5-4
CHICAGO — Colt Keith hit a tiebreaking RBI double in the eighth inning to help the major league-leading Detroit Tigers beat the lowly Chicago White Sox 5-4 on a rainy Wednesday night. The Tigers regrouped after blowing a four-run lead and bounced back from an 8-1 pounding the previous day. Wenceel Pérez was ruled safe at second with a leadoff double to center against Brandon Eisert (2-1) in the eighth after a successful replay challenge by Detroit. He scored with one out on Colt Keith's bloop double down the left field line that landed just fair beyond a sliding left fielder Andrew Benintendi's glove, making it 5-4. Will Vest (5-0) pitched two scoreless innings, and Tommy Kahnle worked the ninth for his eighth save in 11 chances. The Tigers tagged White Sox starter Jared Shuster for four runs in the first after a 95-minute delay. Riley Greene drove in two with a single and scored in the inning. Chicago's Mike Tauchman hit an RBI double and scored in the third. Benintendi doubled leading off the fourth and came around when Josh Rojas chased Tigers starter Sawyer Gipson-Long with a sacrifice fly. Benintendi tied it at 4 in the fifth with a bases-loaded sac fly against Tyler Holton. Gipson-Long lasted 3 2/3 innings in his first start in nearly two years, allowing three runs and five hits. The 27-year-old right-hander missed last season with elbow and hip injuries that required surgery. Shuster, the opener in a bullpen game, gave up four runs and five hits in one inning. Both teams loaded the bases in the fifth. The Tigers came away empty-handed when Steven Wilson struck out Colt Keith. Phoenix Suns aggressively trying to trade Kevin Durant to Houston Rockets
It's no secret that the Phoenix Suns are trying to trade Kevin Durant this offseason. One of the greatest scorers of all time, Durant has enjoyed a very accomplished career that includes an NBA championship, an MVP, 15 All-Star appearances, 11 All-NBA selections, and four scoring titles. Set to turn 37 in September, Durant should still have some strong value via trade. After all, he still averaged 26.6 points per game while shooting 43% from distance. That type of skillset fits any offense, yet the Suns are reportedly trying to negotiate with a specific team. Advertisement According to The Athletic's Kelly Iko, the Suns have been trying to trade Durant to the Houston Rockets in an effort to get their draft picks back. Remember, Houston is in possession of Phoenix's first-round picks in 2025, 2027, and 2029, stemming from the initial Durant trade to the Nets, who then traded those selections to the Rockets later on. 'Phoenix is aggressive in pursuit of a) trading Kevin Durant and b) regaining full control of their draft capital starting with the No. 10 pick in next month's draft, team sources said. Since the conclusion of the season, Houston has fielded several calls from Phoenix, who have since gradually lowered their asking price for Durant, those sources said. There is a price where the Rockets would be interested, but with a fear of breaking up their roster for a 36-year-old coming off injury, doubt remains over a deal materializing.' The Athletic's Kelly Iko on Rockets/Durant trade The fact that Phoenix continues to lower its asking price for Durant is a strong indication that they're desperate to move off from the final year of his contract, where he's set to earn $54.7 million. Durant landing in Houston would at least send him to another contender, but are the Rockets looking to break up their young core for an aging superstar? Yet, it's also possible the Suns are just trying to get the draft picks from Houston, but still send Durant to another city. Either way, it's clear the Suns are looking to deal.
